Does the EarthWay Professional 50lb Broadcast Spreader come with a cover to keep granules dry during a rain

If not, are there any commercial heavy duty spreaders that do have a cover/lid?

The Earthway Pro does not come with a cover. You may want to check out the Precision Pro Broadcast spreader. This spreaser covers a range of 8 to 10 foot spread pattern which is fast and efficient and has a convenient cover.
