I spoke with Mike about a horrible problem I had. BEDBUGS! We got them on our travels from another state. Mike realized right away that I had a problem and the product arrived FAST! I rid my whole house of this menece in less than 2 weeks. Drione Dust is awesome. I have recommended this site to everyone who hate bugs as much as I do. Unfortunately I pitched my 1920's wooden sleigh bed before I found this site. Drione works and kills within 24 hours.

I had a huge problem with boring bees (had already killed 27 with a squash racket) I applied the drione dust to one of the many holes in my log house and then I started finding dead boring bees around my house. Now after 2 months I have yet to see any new holes or bees Thank You

This is the second time we have a had a hornets nest in the last two years. The first time we paid a "pro" come to do the job for us, who had to come back a second time to reapply. This time we tackled the problem ourselves (along with DMOPC) and there was not a single hornet coming in or out the next morning, thanks to Drione Dust. Great great stuff at 1/2 the cost. Thanks!!

Can't say enough good things about Drione Dust. It's been incredibly effective for me. I've cleaned out 3 or 4 yellowjacket nests with it. They were all within walls and cracks, so injecting it into the cracks at night was all it took -- just one application. I've also taken down large spiders with it, and just recently knocked out a nest of carpenter ants. I don't know how it works, but I don't care. Highly suggest purchasing the applicator/injector. Much easier to aim the stuff.

First of all, I would like to say that the service through this site was excellent. Mike was very friendly and helpful on the phone and the product arrived in a prompt and professional manner. Very refreshing in this day and age of lousy customer service! Secondly, the Drione dust worked wonders on my yellow jacket problem. I had a good-sized nest behind the bird blocks in my house eaves and had no way to get to it with a conventional spray. I ordered the Drione and a small bellows applicator and went to work one evening when the little yellow jackets were snuggled up in their hideout. They sure didn't like it and within two days the nest was dead calm. No sign of any activity since....R.I.P.

5 of 5 Stars  carpenter bee control
By John on May 9, 2010
Used drione in the nesting sites of our cabin. It took about 10 seconds before you could hear the activity in the nest and the female was out of there in less than 30 seconds. No return ! Great stuff !! Owning a cabin means you have a constant fight on your hands with this type insect and from what I have seen so far, I have the upper hand. A dust stick makes the job a cinch.

5 of 5 Stars  So Nice To Buy A Product That Works As Advertised
By Eric on June 7, 2010
I was constantly being pestered by carpenter bees. I sent for the Drione Dust and I was pleasantly surprised this product truly worked as advertised. No more bees! They have totally vanished. I can now go on my back porch and enjoy myself. I Have been telling a lot of people (Even perfect strangers) how good this product is and how I was so pleased to solve my carpender bee problem. I even told a Venfor at Lowe's (Who was supplying them with a competing product) about how good it was. Thanks, thanks, thanks

5 of 5 Stars  Drione Dust
By Karen on June 4, 2010
The carpenter bee hole I was trying to treat was on the bottom of the rafter, meaning I was trying to spray the dust UP. It didn't seem to be going so well, so I just waited until the little fellows flew close and I puffed them with the dust. About the time I was thinking, "I'd feel better if I saw one die" one of them fell to the ground. Then another. Then number three. By the end of the evening there were 6 or 7 dead bees on the patio waiting to be swept up.

4 of 5 Stars  it works
By Mari on May 29, 2010
The carpenter bees are gone. The drione dust works. The bulb was not as effective since the bee holes were made from the bottom up and the bulb could not get the dust up into the holes. Instead I used cotton balls saturated in the dust and stuffed them in the holes then sealed them off. So far so good. Thanks for this product.

5 of 5 Stars  Works well and fast
By Seven on May 15, 2010
Fairly easy to use and it works in seconds. I used it for a silverfish problem, and after blowing the dust under the baseboards and seeing a few silverfish come out, I got to see how quickly the powder works. Just a few seconds or so. It's been two weeks since I dusted just a few rooms and I've definitely noticed a reduction in pests. Also, a little goes a long way. This size will last me through a few dusting of the entire house... once I get around to it.

5 of 5 Stars  Drione works
By Richard on August 12, 2010
Recently a contractor working on my fence discovered a very large infestation of carpenter ants in some old lumber in my back yard. He told me about Drione Dust and I immediately went on line and found your site and ordered 1 lb. The shipment arrived promptly and within 3 days the carpenter ants were gone. It is very nice to have such an effective product that will not harm the birds and other animals that typically inhabit backyards.

5 of 5 Stars  Excellent
By Tina on August 14, 2010
I live in an apartment and the management decided it was time to get the bed bugs treated. We were told the exterminators would come once a week for 3 weeks and after that we should have no more issues with bed bugs. After almost three weeks, we still saw no difference and were suffering from sleepless nights. A friend suggested Drione dust and I decided to give it a try since i was very disappointed with the on-going treatment. Drione dust proved to be magic and with just one treatment that I left on for 42 hours, I am happy to say 'Adios bed-bugs'. I strongly recommend this product for all those folks suffering. You'll need the Bellow hand duster with it as well.

5 of 5 Stars  Drione Dust Works Great
By Roger on August 22, 2010
We had 3 yellow jacket nests in our house. It is a brick house with aluminum facia covering and vinyl siding. The bees crawl in the mortar joints to get under the facia and siding. I puffed a good quantity of drione dust in the entryway they were using. It was pretty strange having bees swarming around me, but luckily I did not get stung. Drione does not kill instantly but by the next afternoon all bee action had stopped. Drione Dust works great, I highly recommend it!

5 of 5 Stars  Extermination
By Gail on August 22, 2010
This is the best product I have ever bought. We had the big black ants going back and forth on our front porch and one day I followed one. They were going up a flowering cherry tree and into a small hole. We applied this product and they all came tumbling out along with another bug with wings. Never to be seen again. Great product!!

5 of 5 Stars  Works Great
By A. on August 25, 2010
I took out 3 yellowjacket nests with just a few puffs of Drione each. 2 nests inside walls and vinyl siding corners, and one big paper nest. Hit them at night, and next day not a single yj to be found. 3 puffs around an overhang that seemed to collect spiders and stinkbugs. Weeks later, not a bug in sight. I'm thinking that the 1 lb jug might be several year's supply for a homeowner.

Is Drione dust toxic?
Is Drione dust toxic? I am pregnant and we have bed bugs in our mattress (my cousin gave us her king size mattress) and now we have pests. I want to be able to keep the mattresses if we can get rid of these bugs.

A Drione Dust is a very safe and non-toxic product, but like any other product or cleaning chemical you need to follow the instructions and use as directed.  You would want to apply the dust where you would not come into contact with it while sleeping.  You would be better off purchasing one of our bed bug proof mattress encasements.  Then you would not have to treat the mattress at all, once it was covered and enclosed any bed bugs that were on the mattress would not be able to get off and feed or move around.

Is drione dust safe around people and pets?
I have a newborn and two dogs. If we were to buy Drione Dust and treat our house for ticks can I have the newborn and dogs in the house while treating? If not how long until we can go back into the house? Also is it safe to be in the house after treatment with a newborn and two dogs?

A Drione Dust is a very safe product and also very effective.  Like any product you need to make sure you apply it as directed and read all instructions for it to work properly on bugs and stay safe for your family.  Drione Dust is meant to be applied in cracks and crevices, underneath appliances and inside wall voids.  If you apply it correctly and in these types of areas it will not be accessible for your pets and children to come in contact with but it will be in the places that bugs like to hide.  You do not have to remove the pets and children while you are treating, but it would be a good idea to have them in a different room while you are applying the dust.  After 30 minutes have passed after you have applied the product it is perfectly safe for them to be back in the room that you treated.

Is Drione Dust safe to use around ferrets and other pets?
I have a roach problem, and have a ferret that we let out of the cage often, he can get into the cabinets and in the couch, so i worry about any pesticides that can be used around him. Is this safe to use? or what should i look into?

A Drione dust is safe to use around pets only if you place the dust in areas where your pet cannot get to, such as inside wall voids, under appliances and other areas.  It seems to us that if you really want to eliminate your roach problem you may have to limit the ferrets access and time outside of the cage.  It may take the use of pesticides to eliminate your problem.  Our roach control kit has a very high success rate and will not harm the ferret if the ferret is not let out of its cage while you are treating.

How much area does a 1-pound container of Drione Dust cover?
How much area does a 1-pound container of Drione Dust cover? I would be using it for a wasp problem around the sliding glass door.

A The area that a 1 pound container of Drione Dust covers will depend on a lot of factors.  However, the dust goes a very long way.  Especially for wasps, you only need to apply 1 or 2 quick puffs in the area where they are entering and exiting.  Typically a pound of dust would be enough to treat once every 3 months in all voids of a house and last at least 1 year.  One pound should be plenty for your problem and leave plenty left over for future problems.

I have a swarm of bees (over 2000) that went into a wall through cracks around wall air conditioner.
Will Drione Dust kill the entire nest? How big can it get in a 4 day period?

A Bees do reproduce but every colony is different and most would not grow too much in size in 4 days.  Treating a colony is actually quite easy if you know where the entry/exit point is.  Drione Dust will work great for this, along with a B&G 1150 Bulb Duster.  At night after dusk when the bee activity is in the wall for the night, go up to their entry/exit point and place the duster in the hole and puff twice.  Then pull the duster out of the hole and dust directly at the hole, coating the entry point.  When the bees fly in and out in the morning they will get the dust on their bodies and bring it back into the wall where they are nesting.  The bees will pass the dust around and usually within 24 - 48 hours depending on colony size the colony should be dead.

What is the best time of day to apply Drione dust to the hole where the carpenter bees are?

A You should treat stinging insects early morning or late evening as these are the times of day that the insects are less active and less likely to sting you.

What is the shelf life of Drione dust?

A Drione Dust will remain effective as long as it stays dry.  You should keep the lid on at all times and keep it away from moisture.  We have customers that have had Drione Dust for over 5 years and it is still effective.

Will Drione Dust work to get rid of springtails? Can you recommend anything? I live in NY. Thanks!
I just found out that the miniscule pests I see every evening are most likely springtails. They are so small they look like a dot of dirt. They are around my windows (basement and 1st floor), baseboards, bathtub and sink and they jump when I go to kill them. Anyway...I need help to get rid of them! I noticed them last season, didnt know what they were, sprayed...and then they went away...but apparently now I have a larger problem since they are back. Do you think Drione Dust will work or can you recommend anything else? Thanks.

A Spring tails can be tough to eliminate because they reproduce very quickly. In almost every case where people have spring tails they also have a moisture problem such as a leaking or sweating pipe, poor ventilation in their crawl space, lots of wet mulch right up next to their house, etc. You must locate and correct the moisture problem to get rid of the spring tails, insecticides alone will not do the job. Unfortunately almost all of the products that are recommended for springatil control are products that cannot be shipped to New York. Drione dust applied to cracks and crevices should help, but the springtails can take up to a week to die after contacting the dust. You can also use D-Force Aerosol to help knock down the springtails a bit faster. We usually recommend Bifen L/P granules and Bifen IT liquid, both of which can help you to reduce the numbers of springtails but unfortunately both products are restricted in New York.

How do you apply Drione Dust to take care of my flea infestation in my home?

A Drione dust alone will not be able to get rid of your flea infestation because it is not labeled to be used in many key areas. According to the Drione product label" Apply a continuous visible film underneath and behind stairs, refrigerators and appliances. Treat on, around and behind moldings, shelving, baseboards, pipe openings, cracks, crevices, and other areas where insects hide. For severe infestations, apply Drione behind cabinets and walls, in crawl spaces and attics at the rate of 16 ounces per 1000 square feet of surface area." For complete flea control you should use products that are labeled to be used over carpets, rugs and on animal resting areas. We recommend using Ultracide in combination with Flea Stoppers for an effective flea treatment. We have put these products together in an Indoor Flea Kit for your convenience. Be sure to vacuum immediately before applying the products and every day for the next two weeks to help stimulate the fleas so they will come into contact with the products that you have applied. A second treatment should be applied 14 days after the first treatment

Is Drione Dust water proof?
If I were to dust the perimeter of my house and yard, would it stand up to water? And if not, what would you recommend?

A Drione dust is not waterproof. The only dust that is waterproof is Delta Dust. Delta is also labeled to kill most of the same insects as the Drione dust

How quickly can Drione Dust 'cake up' due to atmospheric moisture if it never directly touches water?
Will caked up Drione dust remain effective? I have a feeling that Drione dust will be more effective against bedbugs than Delta dust, but I am worried about moisture causing it to become ineffective.

A Your questions is really difficult to answer accurately. It will really depend on how much moisture is in the environment where the dust is applied. Drione dust only works if it is dry. Drione dust tends to work just fine without caking in a normal home environment. Both Delta Dust and Drione dust seem to work very well for bedbugs and both take about 3-5 days to kill insects.
