    Does the Dustin Mizer come with the deflector or is that extra?
    The picture shows the deflector attached and some of the reviews mention it.

    After about 3 seconds of dusting, the stream of powder tapers off to hardly anything. Why?
    Then I tap the side of the hopper several times and it starts dusting ok. It slows things down considerably. Suggestions?
    A
    It sounds like the dust you are using is clumping and sticking to the side of the hopper. The dust you are using may have been exposed to a little bit of moisture which is causing caking or clumping in the duster. You can shake the Dustin Mizer as you are using it to keep the dust moving.

    Device and chemicals for attic? Spiders, scorpions, wasp.
    Ranch style house , one story, attic with 3 vented gables, ridge vents. Central Texas. Have had exterminators dust with electric blower. Would like to do my own.

    ? The ?Delta Dust would be an excellent option to use with the B&G Electric Duster for attics, crawlspaces or other large areas. It covers all the insects you mentioned you are looking to control and many others, and is water proof so in protected areas like crawl spaces it will provide a good residual.

    While we do not sell tracking powders, the Dustin Mizer can be used with this type of product.  However, these powders usually are not applied as a broadcast like this unit is designed to do. They are meant to be used in very small amounts; for example, a teaspoon amount in bait stations, rodent runways, burrows, or wall voids.

    Is the Dustin Mizer safe to use in a trailer?
    Would like to know if the chemical used is safe to use in the attic of a trailer? This home is occupied by small children?

    The Dustin Mizer is for use outside and in large areas like attics and crawl spaces.  It would not be used inside homes.  Instead you should use on the handheld bellow dusters here.

    How to get to get to and grease the gears of the Dustin mixer?
    How to open the case the gears are located in? After 30+ years of use do I need new gears?

    To locate the gears, you will remove the handle & gear cover. Apply a soft, multi-purpose grease to each gearshaft (no spray). You can reference the manual here. Dustin Mizer states they include non-corrosive and chemically inert parts that can withstand ozone and sunshine. If you feel a replacement is needed, then you can reach Earthduster, the manufacturer of the Dustin Mizer, by phone or email: 479-527-9062. sales@earthduster.com for replacement parts.
