    Q
I have St Augustine grass and it has a fungus call Take All Patch. Do you something that treats this?
My lawn service company has to continually treat it twice every year at a cost of $100 a treatment. Supposedly it will not go away and must be treated each year just to maintain it.
    A
We would recommend our Eagle 20 EW Fungicide. It is labeled for Take-All Patch in your turf, and you would use 2.4 ounces per 1000 sq/ft in no less than 2 gallons of water. Label states for treatment of Take-All Patch: To reduce the severity, make 1 to 2 fall applications in September and October or when night temperatures drop to 55°F, and 1 to 2 spring applications in April and May depending upon local recommendations. You can see the full product label here.

  • Asked by Pat from Layton, Utah

    Q
How much Eagle 20 EW to 1 gallon of water?
20 years of Powdery Mildew in my 9 semi-dwarf apple trees is my problem I searched all over your site and could not find what I need, 0.06 oz. per gal does not help me. I need to know in Teaspoons or like 1/8 teaspoons example, or perhaps drops from a measured medicine dropper. I have used lime sulfur, micronized sulfur, Immunox, and others, with no satisfactory results, just a waste of a lot of money. I even made my own lime sulfur concentrate to keep my expenditures down. I use a 3-gal. pump-up sprayer. Any help or advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. and thanks for the time. I would like to try Eagle 20 EW if you can suggest a mixing ratio in a teaspoons to gallon ratio. or fraction of a teaspoon. Thanks again.
    A
You will use 1.2 fl. oz. of Eagle 2EW per 1000 square feet. This is 7.2 teaspoons. This will generally go into 1-2 gallons of water depending on how much water it takes to cover the area. When using a product like Eagle 2EW, you will need to make sure you are using the right amount of product versus the right amount of water.

  • Asked by Donny
    04/22/2011
    Q
What is the best time to apply Eagle 20EW, i.e. spring, fall, etc.
    A
The best time to apply a fungicide such as Eagle 20EW will depend on what type of plant you are treating, the type of fungus you are trying to prevent and the region you are located in. We recommend reading over the product label available on the Eagle 20EW page on our website or contacting your local cooperative extension office and speaking directly to the master gardener on staff. Master gardeners are experts on the plants and plant diseases in  their local region and they should be able to tell you exactly when you should perform the application.

  • Asked by David from The Villages, Fl
    12/24/2015
    Q
What product will work best for treating rust on Flax Lily plants, Honor Guard or EWZ40?
I have applied honor guard and ewz40 with monthly and they still get rust. When this happens (rust) I end up cutting the plant down to get rid of the rust. What product would you suggest?
    A

Using products that contain Myclobutanil or Triadimefon have shown to have great results. Otherwise, cutting away infected areas of the flax lily can help halt or slow the spread of disease and allow the plant to recover more quickly. If several plants are infected, you can collect the cuttings in a plastic trash bag as you go, but disinfect the pruning clippers between plants and take the cuttings out of the yard before destroying them. Pruning nearby plants to improve sunlight penetration to the flax lily can help the plant's leaves dry more quickly after rainfall. Many plant pathogens, such as leaf rust, appear following heavy rains.

  • Asked by Robert from Palm Coast, Fl
    04/02/2019
    Q
Should Eagle 20EW be reapplied after rain?
I applied Eagle 20EW this morning. About 15 minutes after I finished it rained for approximately 20-25 minutes. Do I need to do it again?
    A

Ideally, Eagle 20EW should be applied and dry prior to any rainfall to be effective. Excessive rainfall could cause a lack of performance. We would recommend you reapply the product when you are not expecting rain for at least 24 hrs.
