Echelon 4SC Herbicide

Echelon 4SC Herbicide works on both pre-emergent and post-emergent weeds controlling crabgrass, sedges, broadleaf weeds, goosegrass, Poa annua, and annual grasses in commercial, institutional, industrial, and resdiential areas. With a dual mode of action (working through the root and the shoot) Echelon 4SC Herbicide is unique in its class making it more economical through fewer applications and longer residual. Golf course superintendents would be interested to know that Echelon 4SC Herbicide goes beyond just pre-emergent control of Poa annua to help control troublesome weeds later in the season and could possibly be the last herbicide needed in the season.

Get so much more from a single treatment:

  • Pre-emergence Poa annua control
  • Pos-temergence sedge control
  • Post-emergence goosegrass suppression
  • Post-emergence control of small crabgrass
  • Post-emergence suppression of broadleaf weeds
  • Pre-emergence winter annual broadleaves

QNeed a product that will offer post emergent death to poa Annua and crabgrass
Kentucky blue grass lawn

A

Echelon 4SC Herbicide works on both pre and post-emergent weeds controlling crabgrass, sedges, broadleaf weeds, goosegrass, Poa annua and many other weeds. Echelon 4SC labeled for pre-emergent control of poa annua only, not post emergent. According to the product label Poa annua is a winter annual. Applications of Echelon 4SC Herbicide should be made in August or September to established, non overseeded turf before Poa Annua germinates. Consult local Cooperative Extension Service for more specific applications timings for your local area since August and September are approximate timings. Crabgrass control can be attained with by using Echelon 4SC as a pre or post emergent herbicide.

QHow far must the Echelon application be kept away from a vegetable garden
I couldn't find the info on the label.

AEchelon 4SC is both a pre and post emergent so you would want to keep it at least a few feet away from the vegetable garden and be sure that no drift spray would touch the growing plants to prevent harming them.

QWhen do you apply Echelon 4SC Herbicide?
We have a new Bermuda grass lawn (planted last summer) and there are lots of weeds and white clover. Is it too late to apply Echelon 4SC if the average temps are in the 80s? Will it harm the young Bermuda grass?

ASince you are using Echelon 2SC Herbicide for post emergent control, it can be used any time the ground is not frozen and the weeds have emerged. You will use 0.551-0.825 fl. oz. per 1000 square feet. Applications should be made in the early morning or late evening.

QWill Echelon 4SC Herbicide work on sandspur [grassbur]?

A

Echelon 4SC is not specifically labeled for sandburs. We recommend Image 70 DG to treat sandbur.† Also, to prevent them for next year, you should apply Barricade or Surflan AS as a pre-emergent. It will control sandburs in your yard, as well as a multitude of other broadleaf weeds. It is highly recommended that you refer to the product labels prior to purchase to make sure your lawn type is listed under grass species that are tolerant to the product.
