  • Asked by Robert from Jacksonville, Fl
    10/09/2015
    Q
Will Echelon 4SC Herbicide work on sandspur [grassbur]?
    A

Echelon 4SC is not specifically labeled for sandburs. We recommend Image 70 DG to treat sandbur.  Also, to prevent them for next year, you should apply Barricade or Surflan AS as a pre-emergent. It will control sandburs in your yard, as well as a multitude of other broadleaf weeds. It is highly recommended that you refer to the product labels prior to purchase to make sure your lawn type is listed under grass species that are tolerant to the product.

    Q
Can Echelon 4SC Herbicide be applied with a 25660-0 TeeJet Lawn Spray Gun with a 3 GPM tip?
    A

Echelon 4SC Herbicide is applied with backpack and compression sprayers that are appropriate for small turfgrass areas and spot treatments. Wands fitted with a flat fan nozzle tip should be held stationary at the proper height during application. Boom sprayers equipped with appropriate flat fan nozzles, tips and screens are ideal for broadcast applications. Power sprayers fitted with spray wand/gun may also be used for broadcast application after careful calibration by the applicator. Power sprayers fitted with spray wand/gun are suitable for spot treatments. It is important to avoid over application of this product due to excessive overlapping or spot treatment.

  • Asked by Jimmy from Massachusetts
    06/20/2019
    Q
How long do I wait after reseeding/overseeding to apply Echelon 4SC Herbicide?
If I am reseeding and overseeding in September, when is it safe to use Echelon? Will it harm the new grass and will I be able to plant again the following September?
    A

Because Echelon 4SC Herbicide contains both a pre-emergent and a post-emergent herbicide, you can use this product only on well-established turfgrass. That is usually seed that has been up for at least four weeks or been mowed twice, whichever is longer. Reseeding after using Echelon would need to be delayed for 3-6 months depending on the rate used and where you are located. There is a chart on page 5 of the product label here that gives those rates.

You will need 0.184-0.826 fl oz of Echelon 4SC per 100 sqft of area depending on the type of lawn you have in the athletic field, the rate is not set per gallon.  Water is just the carrier and you would use however much water it takes you to cover the 1000 sqft sufficiently. Please refer to the Echelon product label to find the correct usage rate for your needs

    Q
When do you apply Echelon 4SC Herbicide?
