How Eco PCO D-X Dust Works
Eco PCO D-X Dust is a ready-to-use, all-natural, organic insecticide dust with the botanical active ingredients Phenethyl Propionate and Pyrethrins. Phenethyl Propionate is a derivate of peanut oil (it does not contain the enzyme that triggers peanut allergies). It acts as an octopamine blocker for target pests, disrupting the neurotransmitter function in target insects and causing a breakdown in the insects’ central nervous system. Pyrethrins are derived from the chrysanthemum flower and also attack insects’ central nervous system. Eco PCO D-X Dust is a fine powder that insect pests easily pick up on the tiny hairs on their bodies and legs, and the active ingredients kill either by ingestion or contact. Eco PCO D-X dust will remain stable for up to 8 months or longer in voids not exposed to elements such as wind, air flow, extreme moisture, or sunlight.
Eco PCO D-X Dust Target Pests
Ants, bed bugs, carpet beetles, centipedes, roaches, spiders, stinging insects, and other common household pests.
PESTS CONTROLLED WITH ECO PCO D-X DUST:
Ants, bedbugs, carpet beetles, centipedes, cockroaches, crickets, darkling beetles, earwigs, hide beetles, firebrats/silverfish, fleas, millipedes, sowbugs/pillbugs, spiders, scorpions, and other indoor/outdoor insect pests; wasps, yellow jackets and other stinging insects.
Target Uses of Eco PCO D-X Dust
Eco PCO D-X Dust can be used almost anywhere in or around a structure when a dust application is appropriate, especially when natural products are desired. Use Eco PCO D-X Dust as a crack and crevice treatment for most household pests, as part of bed bug treatment, for broadcast treatment in crawl spaces or voids, or to treat stinging insects such as wasps and yellow jackets. Eco PCO D-X Dust is also designed to be water resistant, so it can be used outside around windows, doors, and eaves for overwintering pests such as stink bugs. It can also be applied as an outdoor perimeter treatment.
Eco PCO D-X Dust also is labeled for use as a crack and crevice treatment in Food Handling Establishments.
Shake well before using. Apply uniformly in and around areas where insects may be crawling, hiding, or living. The amount to be applied will vary depending on the severity of the problem and the site treated, but should be in the range of 1 to 2 ounces per 100 square feet of surface area. Applications should include, but are not limited to, cracks/crevices and void areas around and behind interior and exterior walls, cabinets, baseboards, moldings, pipe openings, electrical outlets, stairs, window and doorframes and appliances. Repeat as necessary. Always read the product label completely before use.
Eco PCO D-X Dust is most easily applied with a dust applicator such as a bellows hand duster.
Yield will vary depending on application. A 10 ounce bottle should cover 500-1,000 square feet of total surface area for crack and crevice treatment, or approximately 800 square feet for broadcast application.
Standard Application Rates:
- 1 to 2 ounces per 100 sq. ft. of surface area – crack and crevice, void treatmets
- 12 to 16 ounces per 1,000 sq. ft. of surface area – broadcast treatments in attics, crawl spaces, etc.
Eco PCO D-X Dust is for use in the following areas:
In and around Homes, Offices, Hotels, Motels, Schools, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Day-care Centers, Factories, Warehouses, Stores, Supermarkets, Restaurants, Food Handling Establishments, Commercial or Institutional Kitchens, Food Processing Plants, Zoos and Transportation Equipment (Aircraft (do not use in aircraft cabins), Buses, Trucks, Trailers, Boats, Ships, and Trains).
Apply as a crack and crevice or void treatment in areas where insects may be crawling, hiding, or living at a rate of 1 to 2 ounces per 100 square feet of surface area. Though crack and crevice applications may be made as needed, for general maintenance it is appropriate to apply once every 6 months.
Broadcast Treatments: In attics, crawl spaces, false ceilings, etc., apply at a rate of 12 to 16 ounces per 1,000 square feet of surface area, depending on the severity of the problem. Repeat as necessary.
Bedbugs: Apply thoroughly to all areas where these pests are typically found including: folds, tufts and edges of mattresses, coils of springs, and cracks and hollow posts of bedsteads. Picture frame moldings and all cracks and crevices in the room should be treated. Do not make broadcast applications for bed bugs. Not recommended as the sole protection from bed bugs.
Food Handling Establishments: Applications of this product in the food areas of food handling establishments is limited to void or crack and crevice treatment. The amount to be applied will vary depending on the severity of the problem and the site treated, but should be in the range of 1 to 2 ounces per 100 square feet of surface area. Use equipment capable of applying dust directly into voids, cracks and crevices between different elements of construction, between equipment and floors, openings leading to voids and hollow spaces in walls, equipment legs and bases where insects hide. Repeat as necessary.
Stinging Insects: It is advisable to treat wasp and yellow jacket nests in the evening when insects are less active and have returned to the nest. Wear protective clothing if necessary to avoid stings. Use a hand or power duster with extension tubes if necessary. Thoroughly dust nest, entrance and surrounding areas. For best results, check nests one or two days after treatment to ensure complete kill. Remove and destroy nest to prevent emergence of newly hatched insects. If removal is not possible, retreat the nest if necessary. For nests in wall voids, drill a hole in the area of the nest, apply dust, and reseal.
Outdoor Perimeter Treatments: Apply thoroughly around windows and doors, porches, screens, eaves, patios, garages, under stairways, and in crawl spaces and other areas where pests hide. To help prevent pest problems, apply thoroughly and uniformly to a band of soil and vegetation 6 to 10 feet wide around and adjacent to the building/structure. Treat the building foundation and crawl spaces where pests may find entrance.

I have more experience using Drione. But this product doesn't break the bank and seems to work fine. I dusted under the bottom channel of my siding and also up under the corner channels. I had spiders and wasps come out quickly. That tells me it works. So far, no issues, planning to use this product again.

Pco PCO D-X Dust
By Doug in Rich Hill, MO on 06/25/2011
This botanical dust is great to work with. You don't have to worry about breathing harmful pesticide dust into your lungs, the insects can't develop a resistance to this all natural product, and finally, it works great on killing the insects. Glad to have this product in my pest control arsenal.

We had an infestation of carpet beetles and this product really works! I was able to dust the inside of a wall where we were having them come out of a socket. They stopped almost immediately, I also found some dead ones near their exit point. I would recommend this product for carpet beetles.

Works like a champ!!
By B in Bakersfield, CA on 04/23/2012
THIS STUFF KICKED THE CRUD OUT OF OUR BEDBUG PROBLEM. Easy to apply with the duster I purchased. The duster makes it easy to apply with little waste so I didn't need the 2 bottles I bought. Barely used a third of 1. Can be used on other pests so I am getting my use of the other bottle. Works quickly and lasts. Happy with the results.

I have a bunch of yellow jackets in Michigan and used a lot of this product probably too much. I did it over several nights and saw no change. Pick another product, was a total waste for me.

By Kathi in Seattle, WA on 08/29/2016
My battle with little black INside my house has been going on for about 4 years. Of course I clean incessantly but when I believe I've had a good handle I find a plate I sat down 1/2an hour ago CRAWLING. As I kicked the shipping box aside, I started hitting my corners and cracks with the EcoPCO D-Xdust with noticeably and IMMEDIATE results AND I feel my cockatiel is safe as the airborne particles were VERY MINIMAL!

Successful on underground yellow jacket nest
By Zack in Flagstaff, AZ on 09/11/2013
This dust worked very well on a small yellow jacket burrow being dug between old concrete back door steps. Before buying the dust, I tried a liquid pyrethrin product with no effect. I read others' advice to use dust so entering wasps would walk through it and deliver it throughout the underground nest. The dust was not an instant remedy, but I wanted a lower-toxic option. I applied a little dust at the burrow opening almost daily for a week, mostly at night to avoid active wasps. Sometimes after dribbling a small amount of dust at the burrow entrance, I used a fire place blow tube to blow dust further down the burrow. Active wasps gradually diminished to none in about 10 days. I was glad to see spiders, flies, butterflies, honey bees and other insects on plants next to the steps were unaffected as I only wanted to eradicate the yellow jackets.

Eco Dust for Ant Control
By in Deale, MD on 07/18/2013
This worked right away for an ant problem. I ordered 2 being unsure of the quantity needed. 1 one have been enough for normal household needs with a lot of content remaining from applying in 1 room and another area. Some initial odor, not unpleasant, but quickly dissipated.

ECO PCO D-X DUST DEFINATELY NOT A MUST
By Jason in OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA on 02/16/2012
I paid $14.95 for this stuff, and it wasn't even enough to cover all the baseboards in my house! 10 ounces for $14.95 is a joke! I put it around the edges of my mattress as well as in between the box spring and mattress, and yet me and my wife still get bit, and have found bed bugs in our bed and on the floor by the bed! I had another dust that was brown, my friend gave me, and it worked great keeping the bed bugs out of my apartment, until it got vacuumed up. Letting them back in, causing me to by this crap, that is white, and nothing compared, to what I had. So look for the other brand, and don't waste your money here! Wish I could get my money back!

QWhich one of your anti dust products is equivalent to the Ortho Ant-stop Ant Killer Dust?
I've used the Ortho for years and it works. I'm out. What product do you have that has the same active ingredient, chlorpyrifos?
AThe active ingredient chlorpyrifos was banned for home use and is severely restricted in agricultural uses by the EPA in 2001 because of health concerns. We do have current dust insecticides such as Delta Dust, Tempo Dust and Drione Dust and each product is labeled for use in the home for ant control.
QIs Eco PCO D-X Dust OMRI approved?
ANo, Eco PCO D-X Dust is not currently on the OMRI list.

QIs ECO PCO D-X dust harmful to pets?
ANo, Eco PCO D-X Dust is an all natural dust made from plant extracts. This being said, all dusts are meant to be applied in cracks and crevices only and other out of reach places like underneath and behind appliances where pets cannot come into contact with it.
QCan Eco PCO D-X Dust be used on plants such as ornamentals ?
AEco PCO D-X Dust is labeled to be used on vegetation as long as it is within 10 feet of the perimeter of your home but it is not labeled for use out in the yard. PyGanic Dust with 1% Pyrethrin is a botanical insecticide dust that treats a broad range of insects and is labeled for use on ornamental plants specifically. Please take a few minutes to review page 4 of Pyganic dust product label to be sure it will fit your needs. Pyganic dust has now been replaced with the Evergreen Pyrethrum Dust.
QDoes Eco PCO D-X Dust kill and deter stink bugs?
AEco PCO D-X Dust will kill stink bugs but should not be used to repel them. It should also be noted, Eco PCO D-X Dust as well as all other dust insecticides do not kill immediately. The dust will take several days to actually kill the insect. We do have an "Overwintering Pest Kit" that comes with everything you need to stop stink bugs from making their way indoors. It is important to spray outdoors every month through the season to stop the bulk of the stink bugs from making their way in.
QHow long does the residual effect of EcoPco D-X dust last?
AEco PCO DX-Dust, like most dusts, can last up to 8 months or longer when used inside wall voids, other voids and areas that are not exposed to the elements (and wind or air flow). Most people apply dust products once every 6 months for optimum control.

QI want to puff Eco PCO D-X Dust in my attic fo spiders and scorpions. How long do I need to wait to take
things out of my attic?
AYou should wait a couple of hours before re-entering the attic to give the dust time to settle. Care should be take to get the dust into cracks and crevices and it should not be broadcast applied over all surfaces.

QIs ECO PCO D-X Dust the best dust for bed bugs?
Can I use it behind and under furniture and can it be used in tufts and seems of couches?
AEco PCO D-X Dust - 10 oz will kill bed bugs, but all dust products typically can take up to a week to actually kill a bed bug. Dust products alone will not eliminate a bed bug problem. It is recommended to use many different products in the proper manner, since different products can be used different places and bed bugs can hid anywhere. This is why we sell Bed Bug Kits. They come with full instructions and consist of all of the best products available to professionals in a homeowner kit. They have a very high success rate as long as you follow the instructions and treat thoroughly. And they will save you a ton of money over hiring an exterminator.

QWill Eco PCO D-X Dust work on other beetles like drugstore or biscuit beetles?
I bought this dust thinking I had black carpet beetles. However, taking a closer look, they more resemble another beetle like a biscuit or drugstore beetle. They are not in my pantry. I'd like to use this dust in cracks in the baseboards and around the windows.
AEco PCO D-X Dust - 10 oz. will also treat Drug store beetles. Once the beetle travels over the dusted it will kill them. You may also want to use Pantry Patrol Pheromone traps to help trap the adults. You can also add an growth regulator like Gentrol IGR Aerosol to the mix to spray into crevices to keep the insects from reproducing.

QIs Eco PCO D-X Dust effective against carpenter bee larvae?
Carpenter bees have attacked my porch ceilings. I would like to squirt dust into the tunnels before I plug them up (I will use spray on the hole exteriors).
AEco PCO D-X Dust will be great to lightly dust the openings of the holes that the carpenter bees have created. You should leave them unplugged for a 2-3 months to be sure that no new holes will occur. We recommend using a dust applicator to puff the dust in the holes. Eventually, the larvae inside the gallery will hatch (usually within 3 months), so you need to attack the nest directly. Then when the larvae do hatch, the newly emerged adult bees will fly through the dusted gallery, getting some of the dust on their wings and bodies. As the chemical is absorbed, the carpenter bees will begin to die.

QWill Eco PCO D-X Dust kill bed bugs? How long will it last before you need to reapply? Should this be the only product for treating the house for bedbugs?
A Eco PCO D-X Dust is a great dust for the voids of the structure for insect control including bedbugs. If left undisturbed it will last for up to 8 months, otherwise, you will need to reapply if it's removed. We recommend that you apply the products in one of our Bedbug Kits†since†a dust is not the only product that will treat your home for bedbugs. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Bedbugs for a more successful eradication program.

QWill Eco PCO D-X Dust still be effective after sitting in a hot garage?
A It depends how long the Eco PCO D-X Dust has been left in the garage and at what temperature it has been sitting. As long as there has not been to much extreme temperature change from hot to cold or any moisture issues or been a constant temperature over 90 degrees, it should be effective for 3-5 years.
