    Q
Can I use EcoPCO WP-X on Earwigs and pillbugs in my organic vegetable garden?
I maintain a chemical-free vegetable garden, using soap and pre-emergent oil treatment for fruit trees. Pill bugs and earwigs have been difficult to control with natural methods this far. I have a family member who has cancer, so I do not want any harmful chemicals on our food.
    A
Unfortunately, EcoPCO WP-X is not labeled for use on edible plants. Products that can be used on edible plants are very limited and are usually labeled for only certain types of plants and only certain types of pests. We recommend you contact your local cooperative extension office for product recommendations for your situation.

    A
Eco Pco WP-X is not labeled for use on edible plants.  We recommend Malathion 57%. Malathion is very versatile and can be used on many different edible plants.

    Q
I'm thinking of buying Eco PCO WP-X. I was wondering if I can spray this on my siding?
I have cedar siding, and it is a dark brown. I need to spray for box elder bugs, and I need to spray higher than what I have read(2 feet up the foundation). I want to know before I buy this product because I heard it works great.
    A
Eco Pco WP-X can be sprayed on your siding, but it may leave a white powdery residue behind. The residue will eventually wear off or you can wash it off after it is no longer effective. If the powdery residue is not acceptable to you, you may want to try Talstar P. Talstar P is odorless, dries clear, leaves no stains, is non-irritating to the skin, and will not break down easily with rainfall and is highly recommended for box elder bugs.

    Q
Will rain wash Eco PCO WP-X away?
I am just wondering if the rain will wash the residual powder away? I live in Washington State and it rains alot up here. Would I need to re-treat the perimeter after it rains? Can you recommend a substitute product for ant control that is better suited for a wet climate that is also kid-safe.
    A
Eco PCO WP-X will hold up to rain very well as will most of the products that we sell.  It is actually not rain that is the real threat.  UV light is what breaks pesticides down the most.  You should apply the product when it is not raining and also hopefully when it is not going to rain for at least a few hours so it has time to dry.  Once it has had at least a few hours to dry and adhere to the surface that you applied it on it should provide a good 30 to 45 days of residual protection, rain or shine.  It is usually a good idea to re-apply every 30 to 60 days during the summer to get the best results.

    Q
We have an infant with a sensitive respiratory system. Is Eco PCO WP-X safe to use for indoor treatment?
    A
Eco PCO WP-X is normally very safe for indoor treatments. All occupants need to be out of the house while the application is being made and can return as soon as it is dry. Because people with certain respiratory conditions can be sensitive to things that do not bother other people at all, we recommend you speak to the infants doctor to be sure using the product indoors would be acceptable.

    Q
What do you recommend to spray on siding to exterminate wasps?
I'd prefer something non-toxic, and I've heard of Tri-Die and other desiccant dusts, but would they work on (or stick to) siding? Any other product recommendations for wasp control would be awesome. Thanks.
    A
We see that you are looking for something that is "non-toxic". All insecticide products including Tri-Die have some level of toxicity but certain products have lower toxicity levels than others. We recommend that you use a product from the natural insecticide line that we carry. EcoPCO WP-X is a concentrated wettable powder insecticide that is made from a variety of botanical extracts and is labeled for wasps. EcoPCO WP-X will need to be mixed with water and can be applied to exterior surfaces where you see insect activity. Tri-Die is not labeled for wasps and most likely would not provide satisfactory results when used in the manner you have described.

    Q
Is Eco PCO WP-X effective against spider mites?
Also, it says 3-month residual effectiveness, does this mean it kills on contact when pests crawls on the surface?
    A
Eco PCO WP-X is not labeled for spider mites. Eco PCO WP-X will last for up to 3 months indoors and about 1 month outdoors. Residual effect means that even after the product is dry it will keep killing insects. The dry residual will take a bit longer to actually kill the insect but when insects come in contact with the active residual they will die after a short period of time. We recommend Talstar P for spider mite control indoors and outdoors. Talstar P is safe to use around people and animals and it is very gentle on plants.

    Q
Is ECO PCO WP-X safe for plants and pets? What is the shelf life of an opened jar?
I want to safely rid the area around my house of Kudzu Bugs. Do these bugs bite or sting?
    A
ECO PCO WP-X can be applied to trees, however, it does have a tendency to leave a white powdery residue. A better option would be Talstar P . Talstar P leaves a residual that is clear and odorless and is one of the most gentle products on plants. You would want to retreat at least once every 4 weeks to continue the residual effect.  Both products are safe to use  as long as pets are out of the treated area until the product dries.  The shelf life of the ECO PCO WP-X is about 5 years if kept out of extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.  "Kudzu" bugs are a type of stink bug that is an invasive species in the south and has really started to grow as a nuisance in recent years and are not known to bite.

    Q
Is Eco PCO WP-X effective for killing carpenter ants?
If so, how long does it remain effective before needing another application?
    A
Eco PCO WP-X will kill carpenter ants that come in contact with the treated area. The residual of Eco PCO WP-X is approx 3 months. We highly recommend using a carpenter ant bait that will taken to back to the colony to eradicate the colony. Please check out our Carpenter Ant Kit #1. This kit combines Advance Carpenter ant bait with Maxforce carpenter ant gel for treating carpenter ant infestations in and around homes and offices. Both baits work together to eliminate the carpenter ant colony. Certain carpenter ants may take better to one bait than the other, giving you a greater chance of bait acceptance and effectiveness.

    Q
    General surface treatment
What is the recommended product for spraying inside around baseboards and appliances - Eco PCO WP-X or Eco PCO AR-X? Are both products safe for infants? We have a 9 months old who touches every surface with his wet little hands and puts everything in his mouth of course. I'm concerned that he would pick up the residue.
    A
Both products would be safe to use in a home with an infant as long as you follow the product label instructions. Both products would be suitable for the application you described but we would recommend the Eco Pco AR-X because it comes with a straw attachment to help you get the product directly into the cracks and crevices around baseboards, door frames and window frames and will dry clear. The WP-X will leave behind a white powdery residue and will require you to apply it using hand pump sprayer which will not be as precise as the straw applicator on the AR-X.

    Q
Is Eco PCO WP-X meant to protect from bedbugs?
    A
Eco PCO WP-X is not labeled for bedbugs. If you want an all natural bedbug control program you should consider purchasing Eco Exempt IC-2 plus Adjuvant along with Eco PCO D-X Dust and MotherEarth 2% Py Aerosol. Using these products in combination with each other every 7-10 days can help eliminate a bedbug infestation.

    Q
Can you spray Eco PCO WP-X directly on your mattress to get rid of mites?
    A
Eco PCO WP-X is not labeled to treat directly on the mattress and it is not labeled for mites. For sensitive areas like a mattress, we would recommend Steri-Fab which is made for those areas.

    Q
Will Eco PCO WP-X kill spider?
I am looking for product that don't leave any white residue on dark surface. We use black lava rocks for our flower beds. Is the ECO PCO WP-X perform comparable to Cyber WP? Thanks!
    A
All wettable powder insecticides including Eco PCO WP-X will leave behind white powdery residues. If you would like to use a product that will kill spiders and is all natural like the Eco PCO WP-X but won't leave behind the unsightly residue we recommend using Essentria IC3.

    Q
Will Eco PCO WP-X work very effectively against mosquitos?
I live near a lake and way out in the wood there are TONS of mosquitoes but I want something to spray on my dogs and around their pen to help them not get carried away by mosquitoes (they are that bad) Will this be very effective?
    A
Eco PCO WP-X does not actually list mosquitoes on the product label nor can it be used on pets.  We would recommend using the EcoTreat - Natural Outdoor Insect Control for around the pens and in the yard and the Biter Fighter Natural Insect Repellent for spraying on the dogs themselves.  Be sure to spray the undersides of leaves on trees and bushes as this is where mosquitoes like to hang out during the heat of the day.

    Q
How long does it ttake to kill spiders at the clean out rate?
I treated an area that is infested with black widow spiders and after 30 min they were still alive. What time frame can I expect to see them dead after being sprayed directly and a time frame for after they cross the residual left after it dries?
    A

Eco PCO WP-X is not a contact kill product. The time frame it takes Eco PCO WP-X to eliminate spiders will depend on the number of spiders in the area and the other insects (their food source) in the area. It could take up to a week to see results. This product does not guarantee that the spiders will be gone forever. The product will likely need to be reapplied for maintenance every 30 days.
