Even though it's a little early in the year for mosquitoes to be out, will using an IGR like NyGuard IGR on the first seasonal treatment help prevent reproduction?

Answer:

You can always add an IGR labeled for mosquitoes such as NyGuard IGR to your insecticide. Mosquitoes generally do not bite when temperatures are less than 50 degrees F, and they do need a water source to breed. It is always best to treat preventatively than to wait until populations are high. Please see our Mosquito Prevention Guide for more information about how to keep populations down.
