ExciteR pyrethrin concentrate contains 6% pyrethrins and can be used alone in a fogger or pump sprayer, or as an additive to other insecticides such as malathion, permethrin or cypermethrin for a faster knock-down of insect pests. When used alone, ExciteR does not leave a long residual.

Compare to Kicker Insecticide

ExciteR pyrethrin concentrate contains 6% pyrethrins and can be used alone in a fogger or pump sprayer, or as an additive to other insecticides such as cypermethrin for a faster knock-down of insect pests. When used alone, ExciteR does not leave a long residual.

Tank Mixes in Combination With Residual Insecticides:

ExciteR can be mixed with Cynoff EC Insecticide, Cynoff WP Insecticide, Conquer 3 Residual Insecticide, Prelude 4 Termiticide/Insecticide, Demon 4 EC Insecticide #100-1004, Perm-Up 3.2 EC, Astro Insecticide, LG Permethrin 3.2 Termiticide/Insecticide, Phaeton 354, Atroban 11% EC, Prentox Prenbay 1.5 EC, Prentox Perm-X 1E, at the rate of ¼ to ½ fl. oz. (equivalent to ½ to 1 tablespoon or 7.4 to 14.8 ml) per gallon of finished spray, for use as a flushing and knockdown agent to aid in control of crawling insects and flying insects as listed on the labels of each product. ExciteR cannot be mixed with any product containing a label prohibition against such mixing.

To provide increased control of resistant German Cockroaches:

Tank mix 2.125 to 4.25 fl. ounces of ExciterR with the appropriate amount of companion insecticide label. Prior to tank mixing, a small jar compatibility test should be conducted using the proper proportions of chemicals and water to ensure the physical compatibility of the mixture. When tank-mixing ExciteR with wettable powder formulations, first add the wettable powder to the diluent and agitate to thoroughly suspend it in solution and then add the desired amount of ExciteR to the diluted wettable powder.

5 of 5 stars  Kills Yellow Jackets Instantly
By Christy in Erie, PA on 09/12/2012
    Verified Purchase

This stuff is amazing. My husband bought ExciteR Insecticide and uses it with a pump sprayer. It's made of pyrethrum, a natural extract made from the crushed flowers of the African chrysanthemum. As soon as he sprays the nest the yellow jackets start dying. They drop all around his feet, and the ones that are alive act all dopey. They start falling soon after. You might have to spray two or three times to eliminate the entire infestation, but it works great. Best of all, YOU WON'T GET STUNG. My husband has sprayed 7 or 8 nests and never been stung once!

Exciter is awesome. I worked for a small pest control company when I was in high school and we used exciter and cynoff for roaches. I sprayed the small backyard apartment I lived in which was infested with roaches. Never saw another live one. Great product for initial kill but has a short residual. That's why it is good to mix with cynoff which has a 3 month residual. Which means you only have to apply every 3 months.

I spent hundreds of dollars trying to kill fleas this year. Finally I found the magic bullet. By mixing ExciteR, precor, and talstar I got all the life stages of the flea covered and instant relief from those nagging little bastards. Well worth the expense.......you know what they say buy quality the first time and you only cry once........not over and over and over again.

5 of 5 stars  Works as Advertised!
By Fischer in Woodridge, IL on 06/28/2016

I had been using just Mosquito Barrier (Natural Repellant) which was "ok" for clearing an afternoon BBQ some but when I mixed in ExciteR and Talstar, no more mosquitoes. It's been about three weeks and my wife and our two year old have been enjoying the outdoors almost every night since with not a single bite (Talstar is the residual product). I don't even see mosquitoes on our property. As a "gift" I offered to spray the neighbors on both sides... Knowing I treated all sides we have even less chance of carry over. I know it works because we went for a walk one night and got swarmed once we were only two houses away. Our property is mosquito free and I love it. Recommend wearing a full-face mask or respirator and goggles when spraying ExciteR or Talstar, long sleeves and gloves. Just for safety's sake.

QCan ExciteR be used with a micro encapsulated pesticide such as Cy-Kick CS and Bifenthrin?

AYes, ExciteR Insecticide can be used for that extra punch in any insecticide product that we carry.  The only products you would not want to use ExciteR in are non-repellent products which of there are only two on our site, Termidor SC and Phantom.

QWhen can I wash off pyrethrin spray used on kitchen counter tops and floor?
the exterminator told me i couldn't wash the countertops or floor for 3 weeks in order to retain the insecticide's power to take down roaches. but it is so dirty and gross looking with the insecticide residue splattered over everything--i don't know if i can wait another 2 weeks before i am able to clean again. for now i have been using the stove top for food prep--which is very limiting also. so is it true--i really can't clean anything yet??

AWhile we will not comment on your exterminator's work, we will advise you on how pyrethrin sprays are usually used for roach control. Most pyrethrin sprays have wording like this on the product label "Remove or cover exposed food and cover foodhandling surfaces in edible product areas of food handling areas" or "Cover or remove all food processing surfaces. Thoroughly wash all food processing surfaces before reuse".  Roach control sprays are usally applied directly into crack and crevices where roaches spend most of their time, not on surfaces where the roaches are unlikely to make direct contact. Also, while pyrethrin may irritate roaches for a couple of days after it has been applied, it is only likely to kill the roaches while it is wet.

QHow do I mix ExciteR, Suspend SC and Gentrol using 1 gallon sprayer
It was recommended to me to use these 3 chemicals mixed together for bedbugs by a licensed PCO...I would like to know how to mix these 3 for 1250 interior sf. I purchased the ExciteR and Suspend from DoMyOwnPestControl. Another question....My washer/dryer is located in my garage where I wash all linens with bugs...Do i need to treat my garage as well?

AFor Bed Bug control, mix 2.125 oz of ExciteR with 1.5 oz of Suspend SC, along with 1 oz of Gentrol IGR per gallon of water. One gallon of the finished solution will cover aproximately 1,000 square feet. Yes, it is advisable to treat the garage where your washer and dryer is located. We recommend you spray back behind and underneath your washer and dryer and along the baseboards/perimeter of the garage.  Please read over our Bed Bug Treatment Guide and be sure to read the ExciteR, Suspend, and Gentrol before use.

QFor a German cockroach infestation, could you tell me the mixing instructions for Exciter, Suspend and Gentrol IGR?

A

The mixing ratio for Exciter is 0.25 fl. oz. per gallon of water. The mixing ratio for Suspend SC is 0.75 fl. oz. per gallon of water. The mixing ratio for Gentrol IGR is 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water. These can be mixed together and sprayed in the same tank.†

We would also recommend a bait gel, such as Maxforce Magnum, for†use inside of cabinets and drawers for another source to kill the roaches. Be sure not to spray the bait because it will contaminate it and the roaches will not consume it.†

QWhat oil do I use to mix ExciteR in a fogger?
Also can I mix oil, Exciter & Temprid SC to make a fogging solution

QHow long does an Exciter solution remains effective after application to a wooden surface?
How often should an Exciter solution be re-applied?

A

ExciteR Insecticide is designed as a†contact kill and is†active when it is wet. Once the application†is dry, there will very little residual effect, if any. Since this is a contact and flushing agent, you would use ExciteR as needed, and the best reapplication timing†will depend†on what pest you are treating.†

QDoes Exciter Insecticide work on bed bugs?

A

Exciter Insecticide is used as an additive to make an insecticide work faster. We would not recommend this product being the sole product you are using for bed bugs because it does not provide any residual control, however it does offer fast kill of bed bugs and any other insect pests.†It would be a great additive to a product such as Temprid SC.

QIs ExciteR Insecticide a good choice for a concentrate to eliminate a wasp nest?
What spray that is in a concentrated form, not aerosol, would be best?

A

There are not a lot of options that we typically recommend as a contact kill in a concentrated form that you would put in a pump sprayer. Most nest eliminating products would be in the form of an aerosol to kill that nest instantly. Or if the nest is in an eave of a home using a dust like Tempo 1% Dust is always a great way to get the wasps to carry the product back to the nest as well. For a contact kill only in a concentrated form, you would go with something like ExciteR Pyrethrin Concentrate. You could then follow up the nest areas around the home with a residual like Tempo SC Ultra or Cyonara 9.7 to help keep them from being a continuous problem throughout the season.

It is very expensive vs the talstar and I don't want to use any more than necessary.

A

The minimum amount you can mix ExciteR with Talstar is 0.5 oz ExciteR with .5oz Talster per gallon of water. Please see our Mosquito Treatment Article for more information about this pest.

QCan I use ExciteR in the Fog RX thermal fogger?
I have the Fog RX thermal fogger and used the ULD BP 300 with good results, however it's rather pricey. Would ExciteR be an alternative if I mix it with mine rail oil or kerosene? And if so, what ratio would be recommended?

AExciteR Insecticide can be used in a thermal fogger. It is recommended that ExicteR be mixed with an insecticide because it is a synergist. It is used to make a product work faster to kill insects. It can be used as a stand alone product for a quick knockdown as well. ExciteR Insecticide can be mixed with either water or oil. It should only be mixed with oil when being used in a thermal fogger. You will use 1 fl. oz. of ExciteR Insecticide in a gallon of oil or water.

QAre ExciteR and Archer IGR close to the same product?

AExciteR and Archer IGR are not the same type of product. ExciteR is a

concentrate contains 6% pyrethrins and can be used alone in a fogger or pump sprayer, or as an additive to other insecticides such as malathion, permethrin or cypermethrin for a faster knock-down of insect pests. Archer IGR offers no killing power for the insect. It will impede the reproductive cycle of the insect.  An IGR is a form of “birth control” for pests which helps keep the populations of unwanted pests under control by preventing current and future infestations. They can both be mixed together with a professional strength inseciticide concentrate.
