    Q
Can I use the Fertilome Triple Action Plus directly on the vegetables themselves, not just the foliage?
Just to confirm, TAP can be safely sprayed directly upon the edible vegetable itself? We also have powdery mildew infestation of an Egyptian Mint plant - are the leaves still edible after treatment with TAP? Thanks
    A
You can spray the Fertilome Triple Action Plus II directly on the edible vegetation with no problem. Be sure to thoroughly wash the food plant before it is consumed.

    Q
Do I need to reapply Triple Action Plus after a rain shower?
I applied triple action plus to my garden, and roughly 90 minutes later there was a moderate rain shower for about 5 minutes.
    A
Typically it takes a product a good 30 to 45 minutes to properly dry...even quicker depending on where you live in the summer.  After a product has dried completely it should hold up quite well in rain, especially only a pop up storm that only lasted 10 minutes or so.  You should be fine, but it would be okay to re-apply again in about 2 weeks if you feel that you needed to.

    Q
What is the difference between Triple Action Plus and Triple Action Plus II?
What is the difference in these insecticides? Also the label says the Triple Action Plus is harmful to bees. Is this a "safe" or natural insecticide?
    A

Triple Action Plus/Triple Action Plus II has been remade and is now Fertilome Triple Action with 70% Neem Oil in which they have removed the PBO making it safe for organic gardening as it contains only all natural products.  The Pyrethrin in the Fertilome Triple Action will harm bees if they are in the area during treatment or contact a wet surface after application.  Be sure to apply only in the early morning or late evening to limit the contact with bees.  The product is safe when used as directed on the product label.

  • Asked by Deborah from Corpus Christi, Tx

    Q
Is Fertilome Triple Action Plus II with 70% Neem Oil organic?
    A
Fertilome Triple Action Plus is not an organic product because it contains the active ingredient PBO, a synergizing agent which is man made. We do not carry another product that contains both an insecticide and a fungicide and is also organic. You may need to consider using two separate products together to get the same results as using Fertilome Triple Action Plus. Most people that want to use all natural products choose a combination of Insecticidal Soap and Neem Oil.

    Q
Can Triple Action Plus be used with a smaller sprayer, like a Miracle Grow sprayer? If so, what is the ratio of produce?
It takes to long to use the sprayer bottles that you have to pump up to spray. I'd like to just hook up a garden hose to a smaller sprayer, but don't know how much product to use.
    A
You should be able to use Fertilome Triple Action Plus II with 70% Neem Oil in any sprayer including a hose end sprayer as long as you are using the suggested usage rate of 1 fl oz of product per gallon of water. You can see the full instruction label here: Fertilome Triple Action Plus II with 70% Neem Oil product label

  • Asked by Jonnie from Merritt Island, Florida
    12/02/2015
    Q
Will Fertilome Triple Action with 70% Neem Oil kill butterflies or their caterpillars, such as Monarchs?
I have tomato worms and fungus. I have squash worms. I have kale worms...but I have about 8 species of butterflies.
    A

Fertilome Triple Action with 70% Neem Oil contains both neem oil and pyrethrins, a non-selective insecticide. This product will affect any insects contacted by the direct spray due to the oil and the pyrethrins, so you would want to avoid spraying when pollinators are present. The neem oil alone acts primarily on larval stages of ornamental pests that ingest the active ingredient while feeding, so an option without the pyrethrins would be Bonide Neem Oil Concentrate. Keep in mind that oils may still act as a suffocant to non-target pests.

What product is best for spraying aphids and killing them and also gray mold on hedges and shrubs?
I have had gray mold on south privet hedges and it is sucking the life out of them. I also have aphids on my crepe myrtle bushes. I need to get rid of both problems. What is best for both problems without killing either bush or plant?
    A
Fertilome Triple Action Plus II is labeled for aphids as well as many plant diseases and can be used on plants, hedges and shrubs without damaging the plant. You should know that once a fungus over runs a plant like you have described, it can be very difficult to save the plant.
