    No interest

    By Robert on 01/05/2015

I tried cheaper baits with no success. Tried "Final" based on "You get what you pay for". Placed four bait stations out and one board with bait stick mounted so I could observe activity with a Dropcam. Several rats sniffed then showed no more interest. I must have finicky rats. Will try wrapping with bacon...

    Expert Response  Expert response:
It may take rats several days to get used to a new bait and/or stations. Rats are neophobic, meaning they are very wary of new things in their environments, so it just may take some patience for them to consume the bait. Final is a single feed bait, though, so the rats only need to feed on it one time to consume a lethal dose.

    Tasty

    By D on 01/26/2017

Animals seem to like it... 2-3 blocks gone in 1-2 days I assume whatever is eating it is turning up dead in someone's yard because all I seem to be doing is feeding them..

    meadow voles

    By James on 12/01/2017

Voles invaded my garden, trees and flower beds from an irrigation ditch. I used Final in the past and decided to try Contrac- results were less than desirable. Went back to Final and had better kill and it seems to weather better. Neither product is great but they are safe for the average homeowner. I am a life long rancher and voles are the hardest rodent to keep under control unless you can flood them out.

    Bugs

    By Jeffrey on 04/10/2019

This product is more effective than other's I have tried. Rats seem to like it, it kills them, and that is great. However, there are apparently insect eggs within the product. I'm guessing these eggs come within seeds that are there as an attractant. In the warm environment where I used this, small insects emerged from the blocks, eating through the bait, and destroying the block. So the usage life was limited.

    Not impressed

    By Kim on 12/30/2015

I have roof rats because of the citrus trees I have. I bought this stuff because of the good reviews. I have had it for a month in six different stations with three blocks in each station. Not ONE block has been touched. I understand they are neophobic and are hesitant to new things, but I think a month should be long enough. I know they are still out there because my grounds are free from fallen citrus. Every once in a while an orange will fall and the next day I will see it pitted out. My only thought is that the rats prefer the sweet orange over this hardened red colored block. Like putting a candy and an apple in front of a child. I wouldn't have spent $150 on this + stations if my problem were to remain unfixed. So for this reason I am unsatisfied and will give 3 out of five stars. I think I'm being generous too.

    Final blox

    By Kathy on 05/22/2020

Does not appear to be as effective as the other product I used. The critters seem to love it but unless there are an army of them....they are living to make a lot of return visits!!
