    Great Product!

    By Josh on 08/12/2010

I use this light in my 2500 sq feet grocery store and it is the same light used in my 15,000 sq foot bakery. They work very will, easy to change glue board, and light last long time.

    Beware

    By Carol on 09/30/2011

    Verified Purchase

Don't waste your money. This product doesn't work and Do My Own Pest Control doesn't take returns. I will not order from this company again.

    Good Bang for the Buck

    By No on 04/17/2012

In dealing with a serious fly and other flying pest issue in our aircraft hangar I looked at several options including the Gilbert 2000GT Flying Venus. My order was placed promptly and delivery was quick. The lights were easy to install and look very good in the hangar. They look more like art deco lights than pest control devices and I have received several compliments on their look. There are only two negatives that I can bring up but both are manageable and are not defects in the product. 1) They do not cover a very large area so if they are in an area with a lot of pests, they tend to fill up very quickly. I am having to change out the sticky boards almost daily which tends to be pricey in sticky board costs. Proof that they work! 2) Although they are primarily "fly lights", they attract all kinds of flying pests and the larger insects: moths, etc. do not get stuck on the boards but rather tend to just hang out around and on the fixtures. These pests are easily vacuumed up as they are concentrated in one area but labor intensive none-the-less. All in all, I would recommend this product and may opt to purchase a few more to handle to pest load. Overall the Gilbert 2000GT offers great value. Good bang for the buck!

Q
I was wondering how large of a space will one Gilbert 2000GT Flying Venus fly light cover?
A

When it comes to how large of a space a fly light will cover, the fly manufacturers will tell you there is no way to determine that.  Here is a installation summary directly from Gilbert, the company that makes the Gilbert 2000GT Flying Venus

"File any published "area covered" claims in your wastebasket. At best, they are, generalized, rules of thumb. At worst, they are misleading advertising. They certainly shouldn't be used to compare traps. It is nonsense to say any flytrap will control insects within "X" square feet of space (even indoors) without, at least, specifying the species of insects concerned, the type and condition of the facility, the surrounding environment, and management's level of concern. The distance at which an insect responds is determined by lamp type and trap design, of course, but also by the number, visual acuity, and nature of the specific insect."

We recommend purchasing one fly light and after installation and how it controls your situation determine if you may need additional lights.
