Have you ever heard that the trench that has to be dug around the house doesn't have to be 6" deep?

Four months ago we hired a "professional" termite control company to apply Termidor SC to our home because we found termites and had never had a treatment done. What a big mistake! After four months, we still have termites! When they applied the termidor, they only scratched the surface of the mulch and dirt - maybe 2 inches tops. When we questioned them, they said it was not necessary to trench 6 inches and that the termidor would "sink" in. (They did use Termidor SC and not the newer product that requires less trenching.) This was only one of several problems we had with them including not trenching under our deck that runs along the entire back of our house but instead just spraying the ground (mulch) all under the deck and letting it "sink" in and not rodding right next to a known termite infestation. We wish we would have done it ourself. Now we are in a big dispute with them. Even though we still have termites, he still insists it doesn't have to be 6" deep. So, just because you hire a professional, it doesn't mean you will get a treatment done properly.

Answer:

Termidor will "sink in" to a certain extent. Per the manufacturer of the product, it is non-negtionable that Termidor must be applied in a trench 6X6 to guarantee its effectiveness. Please let us know if you have any more questions!
