Use preventively. Begin applications when conditions are favorable for disease infection, prior to disease symptom development. Under high disease pressure, use higher rates of Headway G and shorter intervals. Alternate with a contact fungicide such as Daconil.
Bermudagrass can be sensitive to Headway G. Do not exceed 3 lb. product/1000 sq. ft. every 30 days on any variety of bermudagrass. In Florida do not apply Headway G to bermudagrass golf course greens when temperatures exceed 90°F.
For use in the establishment of turfgrass from seed or in overseeding of dormant turfgrass:
- Headway G may be used for control of certain turfgrass diseases associated with turfgrass establishment from seed. Headway G may also be used during overseeding of dormant turfgrass.
- Headway G may be safely applied before or after seeding or at seedling germination and emergence to ryegrass, bentgrass, bluegrass, and fescue turfgrass types. Optimum application timing is during seeding. See Application Directions section.
- Use the shorter specified application interval and/or use the higher specified rate when prolonged favorable disease conditions exist.

This product worked quickly and stopped the progression of the take all root rot in our grass. We have had a tremendous amount of rain this year, thus we have dealt with this issue for the first time. We will certainly use it again if need be. Next year, we will treat our grass preventively.

Definitely Worth The Price!
By Carl in Denver, Colorado on 08/18/2015
I've been working to eliminate lawn fungus issues for several years. I've tried the Scott's Fungus Control Granules and the Bayer Fungus Control Spray and saw little to no results. Two applications of Headway G and now all my disease issue are over. Considering all the money I've wasted on Scott's and Bayer products, this stuff is a true bargain!

Headway G Granules to control fairy rings
By E in Kalispell Mt. on 09/11/2015
Great product wish it wasn't so expensive. Would be great to have application rates that were specific to lawn spreaders. The only product I have found to control well established rings. Need to reapply

Finally found product to control Take All Patch/Brown Patch
By K in Dallas, TX on 07/19/2016
Have had very difficult time controlling Take All Patch and Brown Patch with all the rain in Texas. Apply every 2 weeks & alternate this product with Heritage Granules after applications to prevent immunity build up. Great success so far! Finally have grass growing in my yard that looks normal!

QI have Empire Zoysia in Central Florida. Should I put this down as a preventative or as a solution?
AThe unique formulation of the Headway G is it works as a curative and a preventative. So you can put it down before you see signs or after and it will work great. It works extra well on root infecting diseases.

QDoes Headway work on Red thread? Can it be rotated with Heritage for treatment of lawn fungus?
I am looking for a product to rotate with Heritage so I do not just use Heritage every year. You can't sell Eagle 20EW in NY so I am looking for a second product to rotate applications.
A Headway G Fungicide is labeled for treatment of red thread. You would use 2-2.5 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft. at 14 day intervals or 3.5-4 lbs. at 28 day intervals, and you should apply when conditions for the disease are favorable. Headway G Granules can be used as a preventative treatment and as a curative treatment since it has two active ingredients. One of the active ingredients in Headway G is Azoxystrobin, which is the same active ingredient in Heritage G granules. If you would like to rotate fungicides, you should look for one with a different active ingredient. Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide is also labeled for red thread and can be shipped to New York. Honor Guard is best applied as a preventative treatment. Be sure to follow the application instructions on the product label.

QWhat are the recommended letter settings for professional type spreaders?
Have a Andersens SR-2000 pro spreader, what letter settings are recommended for the medium and heavy application rates on the bag?
AWe are not familiar with the Andersens SR-2000 Pro Spreader so you would need to contact the manufacturer of the headway fungicide to see if they can better assist you on spreader settings for their product. Also, you will need to know what fungus you are treating for to tell Syngenta to help them better calculate your application rate for your spreader. You can reach Syngenta at 1-866-796-4368. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

QWill Headway G help control mushrooms in the lawn
AWe recommend you contact your local cooperative extension office and get the mushroom identified and the master gardener on staff should be able to tell you what will work to eliminate the type of mushroom you are dealing with.

QWhat time of year should Headway G Fungicide be applied to a lawn?
AYou normally apply a fungicide like Headway before signs of the disease common to occur in your lawns starts to be present. If you typically get a disease in the lawn every may, for example, then you would want to put down the headway a few weeks before the time it normally presents itself in your lawn, and continue reapplying at the appropriate intervals per the product label for that disease to keep it at bay.
