5 of 5 stars  no more chinch bugs!
By Lynn in Canada on 07/11/2014
    Verified Purchase

For 3 years now, I have been using this product. Before that, most of the lawn had died from a chinch bug invasion. You should see it now. The new lawn that has grown from all the planting work is thriving. Since I have been using BugBlasterII, there have been no more problems. It is important to follow instructions and put it down before a good rain, so it can get through the thatch to where the bugs live and eat.

5 of 5 stars  Fantastic Service
By Janet in Watertown, New York on 09/04/2012

I am thrilled with the service from "DoMyOwnPestControl". I needed something for chinch that I could have shipped to N.Y. This product was suggested by a company representative, and it was shipped immediately. Unfortunately, the day after I applied it, there was heavy, heavy rain (for the first time all summer, wouldn't you know). Hopefully there will still be some effect on the chinch bugs. Their damage this year was extensive. I will be ordering all my pest control products from this company from now on. Fast, efficient, helpful service!

5 of 5 stars  Works Great
By Dana in Rockford, IL on 09/15/2015

I had a terrible millipede infestation! I couldn't walk on my patio without stepping on one or 50! I tried everything to get rid of them but nothing killed them..this was my last resort before calling an exterminator. It works fabulously! Took a few days to soak into the soil and the millipede population decreased by leaps and bounds. Today they are all gone - I can use my patio again!! Thank you so much

It's a product that claims a lot but really doesn't deliver 100%. I had higher expectations after reading the product information. Do I recommend it, sure. Is it the best? Not in my opinion. Pay more and get a stronger product.

QIs it necessary to water the lawn after applying the dry granules to a lawn (as w/ regular lawn fertilizer)?

AThe product label says: Irrigation or watering by 0.1 to 0.5 inches immediately after application generally improves the effectiveness of this product.  We also agree that watering after application will increase results you see much quicker.

QHow long does Bug Blaster take to dry after using this on my lawn?
I need to know how long to keep my animals inside and off the lawn.

ATypically depending on how hot it is, it usually takes liquid applications 30 minutes to an hour to dry after you apply them.  You should keep the pets off for an hour just to be safe, although it will most likely dry well before then in the heat of the summer.  Also, these products are only strong enough to kill small insects when diluted with water and applied correctly and should pose no threat to pets.

QCan I use the Hi-Yield Bug Blaster II Granules in any temperature?
I live in Missouri and have a zoysia lawn with a chinch bug infestation. Can this product be used during the hotter summer months?

A

Hi-Yield Bug Blaster II Granules can be applied in the summer months for chinch bug control. It is recommended to apply and water in with a 0.25 inch of water to release the active ingredient and to ensure the product reaches the thatch level where this insect will infest. The manufacturer recommends that you apply early morning or late evening when temperatures are between 65-80 degrees for the best control for most insect applications. Please refer to the product label for specific instructions on application.

QIs there a specific time limit after Hi-Yield Bug Blaster II Bifenthrin Granules has been applied that it has to be watered in?
I was told that once it's applied, the granules must be watered in really well within 4 hours otherwise the product loses it's effectiveness in sunlight. My yard is almost an acre and it's impossible to apply and water in the whole yard under 4 hours. Also, the granules don't dissolve on hard soil no matter how much it's watered in. Will it still keep fire ants away? Thanks

A

According to the product label for Hi-Yield Bug Blaster II Bifenthrin Granules, they must be watered in immediately after application for best results.  They must be watered in in order to release the active ingredient.  If you do not feel that you will have adequate time to get the product watered in after application, you could always treat the property in smaller sections at a time.  You may also want to visit our Fire Ant Control page to see other options for treating fire ants as well.

QWill Hi-Yield Bug Blaster II Bifenthrin Granules kill spiders?
I have a huge amount of spiders (wolf spiders?) in my rock gardens on the edge of a ravine.

AHi-Yield Bug Blaster II Bifenthrin Granules is not specifically labeled for spiders. We would recommend applying EcoVia EC. It is labeled for many insects including spiders and can be applied close to areas of water. We also suggest glue boards to help monitor the infestation (and help catch the spiders too).

QI have 3/4 of an acre of lawn. How many bags Hi-Yield Bug Blaster II Bifenthrin Granules?

QWould it be okay to use both the Bug Blaster II and ant bait stations at the same time in the same area?

AYou do not want to place ant bait stations where you have applied Bug Blaster II. The Bifenthrin active ingredient could counteract the bait stations. Apply the ant bait stations in areas where there are no insecticides present.

QHow do I apply this product? Is the spreader a necessity?

AYou will need a hand spreader to make sure you are applying the product as recommended on the product label. Other than a spreader there is not really a way to spread the granules evenly using the usage rate on the product label.

QCan I use Bug Blaster II granules around newly planted flowers and strawberries that are producing fruit?
I am trying to kill sow bugs/pill/bugs. If yes, where can I find your product in Tappahannock , VA? If no, what product would you suggest?

ABug Blaster II can be used around the flowers but it cannot be used around any edible vegetation. Sevin Insecticide Granules can be used around the strawberry plants to control sow bugs.
