    Q
How long does Bug Blaster take to dry after using this on my lawn?
I need to know how long to keep my animals inside and off the lawn.
    A
Typically depending on how hot it is, it usually takes liquid applications 30 minutes to an hour to dry after you apply them.  You should keep the pets off for an hour just to be safe, although it will most likely dry well before then in the heat of the summer.  Also, these products are only strong enough to kill small insects when diluted with water and applied correctly and should pose no threat to pets.

  • Asked by Mariann from Gonzales, Louisiana
    07/09/2015
    Q
Is there a specific time limit after Hi-Yield Bug Blaster II Bifenthrin Granules has been applied that it has to be watered in?
I was told that once it's applied, the granules must be watered in really well within 4 hours otherwise the product loses it's effectiveness in sunlight. My yard is almost an acre and it's impossible to apply and water in the whole yard under 4 hours. Also, the granules don't dissolve on hard soil no matter how much it's watered in. Will it still keep fire ants away? Thanks
    A

According to the product label for Hi-Yield Bug Blaster II Bifenthrin Granules, they must be watered in immediately after application for best results.  They must be watered in in order to release the active ingredient.  If you do not feel that you will have adequate time to get the product watered in after application, you could always treat the property in smaller sections at a time.  You may also want to visit our Fire Ant Control page to see other options for treating fire ants as well.

Will Hi-Yield Bug Blaster II Bifenthrin Granules kill spiders?
I have a huge amount of spiders (wolf spiders?) in my rock gardens on the edge of a ravine.
    A
Hi-Yield Bug Blaster II Bifenthrin Granules is not specifically labeled for spiders. We would recommend applying EcoVia EC.
