    Difference between a snail, slug and grub?
    A
    A snail is a land slug with a mollusk. A slug is a mollusk without a shell, a grub is the larvae of a beetle that grows in the soil. Hi-Yield Improved Slug & Snail Bait is great product to treat for snails and slugs. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

    Is Hi-Yield Improved Slug and Snail Bait a good professional product?
    A

    Hi-Yield Improved Slug & Snail Bait is a very good professional grade product. You will use 1 lb per 4,400 sq. ft. or one level teaspoon per sq. yard for smaller applications, preferably in the evening. Apply following irrigation for best results, and do not water for 48 hours after application. Apply when plant damage is anticipated or first appears, and repeat as needed. DO NOT allow bait to contact parts of plants used for food or feed.

    Can I can use Hi-Yield Improved Slug and Snail Bait on the whole yard for snails?
    I'm using Ortho snail bait, but its only good for around the plants. It would take several bags every couple of weeks.

    Hi-Yield Improved Slug and Snail Bait is a pelleted bait for soil surface treatment in home vegetable gardens, turfgrass lawns, and around ornamentals, fruit trees, and berries. Each 1 lb bag will treat approximately 4,400 sq ft so a 2.5 lb. bag covers 11,000 sq. ft.

    What is the Bitrex that is in Hi-Yield Improved Slug and Snail Bait?
    The product description says it includes Bitrex for safety. Please explain what it is and how it makes the product safe. Is Hi-Yield intrinsically toxic to animals and children?

    Bitrex is a bittering agent that makes Hi-Yield Improved Slug & Snail Bait unattractive to children, pets and other animals. If the product is used as directed, it is safe for use around children and pets. It is recommend that you keep them out of the area until the product has been applied.

    Can you use Hi-Yield Improved Slug & Snail Bait around pets?

    Yes, Hi-Yield Improved Slug & Snail Bait can be used around pets when applied according to the instructions on the product label.  this product contains Bitrex , which is a bittering agent to deter children, pets, and other animals.

    Can Hi-Yield Improved Slug & Snail Bait be applied under the deck board or squeezed in between boards?
    I have slugs all over the deck. Can this be thrown in between the boards to reach under because that is their breeding ground

    Hi-Yield Improved Slug & Snail Bait is labeled for use on soil surfaces, such as in turfgrass, around ornamentals, fruit trees, etc. If you are able to get the product under the deckboards to the soil, this product can be applied.

    Is Hi-Yield Slug and Snail bait safe to put directly around cooking herbs planted in a flower pot?

    Hi Yield Improved Slug and Snail Bait can be used around the listed vegetables that are in the soil. It does not have labeling for plants that are in containers.

    Rained after application
    I put this product down and it rained 6 hours later. We sre in Houston and it rains almost every day. Do I need to reapply or wait the 21 days? Will it still be effective?

    The area should be irrigated after applying Hi-Yield Improved Slug & Snail Bait, for best results.  The product label advises not to water the area for 48 hours after an application, so you may want to reapply the product if it rained within 6 hours of the initial product application.  However, you may contact the manufacturer directly for confirmation at (855) 270-4776, or by emailing consumersupport@fertilome.com.
