    By M. on March 20, 2013

This is a very good all purpose pest control for multiple uses. I'm not very knowlegeable on what insecticide kills what so I mix it up and use it for most all pests on veg plants, flowers and shrubs. It seems to work on almost anything. I was happy to find this site where I could order it. Good service and reasonabloe price.

Used this on my tomatoes as I had a growing problem with whiteflies. Problem solved! I am also looking to dilute this enough and spray my tent before I go camping as I hear this works quite well on gear without health or equipment issues.

QWhat is the mix ratio for Permethrin for animals, dogs & horses?

AAll of the different dilution rates are located on the product label on pages 19 - 22. For the most part, dogs require 1 1/3 ounce per gallon of water, horses and other animals are 2 oz per gallon of water.  Please read and follow the label instructions for specific treatment requirements.

July 20, 2011Heidi asked:

QHow strong is the odor of Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide when sprayed?
Could you please give me an indication of how strong is the odor? I purchased the Petcor flea for dogs, which is safe to spray directly on the pets, but the odor is so strong - stronger than any of the other home & carpet sprays I purchased - and the dogs do not tolerate it at all. Thank you in advance for any advice you could offer.

AMost products that contain permethrin including the Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide
do have an odor that some people find offensive. We have never had a customer report that the odor lasted for a long time. If the smell of permethrin products is bothersome you may want to consider using the "spot on" flea and tick treatments that used to only be available through your vet but are now available over the counter at most pet supply stores and other big box stores.

April 16, 2011Karyn asked:

QWhich product is the best to control viburnum crown borer?

AWe do not actually have a product that specifically lists the viburnum crown borer as a target pest.  However, the Hi-Yield 10% Permethrin is labeled for borers in general and works very well.  We are sure it would be effective on the borer you named as well as most others.

June 12, 2011Danica asked:

QWhat is the best propane fogger to use with Permethrin 10%?
It's for a yard and 3 acres of bushes and trees in a desert area (near farmland) where we have tons of gnats and mosquitoes

AThe Permethrin 10% should work in any propane fogger.  We are not familiar with the Burgess model, but we do carry the Bonide Propane Fogger which is in stock and looks very similar.

August 15, 2011Peter asked:

QSafe for use to treat clothing?
I understand that water based Permethrin concentrate is acceptable to be diluted to a 0.5% solution for application on clothing. Is this product water based, can it be diluted for use on clothing?

AHi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide is not labeled for use on clothing and should not be used in this manner. We do carry Tick Block which is specifically formulated for use on clothing. While both products do contain permethrin, the formulation of Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide contains materials that should not come into contact with your skin.

July 19, 2011Jeremy asked:

QCan Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin be used on peas, potatos, soybeans, or carrots?
I noticed it only listed certain vegetables, why could it be used on only certain ones. Also what would you recommend for most gardens?

AThe manufacturer of Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide has tested the product on certain plants and they have listed the plants that the product will not damage and the plants where they know the product will have a beneficial effect. There may not be one product that can treat all of the different plants that you have because the plants are very different as are the types of insects likely to infest each individual species of plant.  Fertilome Liquid Carbaryl Spray is listed for carrots and potatoes. Captain Jacks Dead Bug Brew is listed for potatoes and peas. We do not currently have a product that is listed for soy beans. We recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension office and see if they have advice on what products will work best on soybeans to protect them against the pests in your region.

July 27, 2011Kevin asked:

QHow to treat leafminers on citrus trees?
lemon, orange and lome trees have leaf miners and I would like to spinosad but it is not available in Hawaii, do you have another safe product that you can recommend, I have blueberries under the fruit trees, btw these are dwarf trees.

AThe only product we carry that is labeled for leafminers and can be used on edible fruit trees is our Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor Permethrin 10%.  For most applications you would mix 1 1/2 oz. per 4 gallons of water.  It will also treat many other pests that may do damage to the trees.

QIs this comparable to ECHO Yardshield solution for use through blower fogging attachement?

AHi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide contains the same active ingredient as the ECHO product that you mentioned and would most likely provide the same exact results as you received with that product. Be sure your read and follow the product label on the Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide as the usage rate may vary.

May 14, 2013Steven from Bellefontaine Ohio asked:

QWhat about black walnut and hickory nut trees for insect control with Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor Permethrin?
some of my black walnuts had small wax worms in them and my hickory nuts had a small hole in them.

AAccording to the label you can use this product for insect control on nut trees grown around the home. We wouldn't be able to tell you if this will work for your specific type of bug as we would need the exact name to compare to the label. This does cover a wide range of insects.

May 24, 2013Lynn from Florida asked:

QItems not covered in labeling
Read the label and nothing is said about using on Blackberries or Grapes .. Dahlias or Gardenias .. Mole Crickets are mentioned in lawn and turf.. but they also invade gardens and love to eat plant roots.. no mention of rate of dilution.. should one use the turf rate? or is that too much for plants?

AFor specifics rates and items not on the Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide product label please contact Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide VPG at 888-583-5296.
