The best things to do will be to focus more on the outside of the home as that is where your slug problem is coming from. You will want to try and pull back any pinestraw or ground cover you may have next to your home to create a dry dirt barrier at least 6 inches wide to try and deter them. The dryer the environment around the home the less appealing it is to both slugs and other insects. You can apply a product like Sluggo Plus as a barrier around the foundation of your home to eliminate them outside and try to prevent them from coming in. Any areas you have already found they have gained access indoors you will want to apply regular table salt and look for any cracks or loose seals around doors and windows.
