How do you calculate the attic area (500 sq ft/gal of Bora Care)?

Answer:

500 sq/ft of surface area is what is being referred to on the label for coverage of the Boracare at a 1:1 ratio. If you are doing preventative treatments and not active, you can use Boracare at the rate of 5:1 and get 5 times the coverage area. Keep in mind if you can not get to all sides of some of the wood, and the wood is thicker than 6 inches, you will need to apply 2 coats of the Boracare to make sure it completely penetrates through the wood. Also you will want to mix the Boracare with hot water initially in a seperate container and mix well before pouring into a sprayer. The Boracare is VERY thick so the hot water helps thin it out faster and reduce clogging of your sprayer.
