How safe is CB Intruder HPX for humans and animals in a closed in apartment?

A lady I care for has leukemia and copd and can't leave her apartment. She also has a dog that stays with her always. She has a earwig infestation and I would like to rid her of this problem without any health risks.

Answer:

CB Intruder has been discontinued by the manufacturer. We recommend Cy-Kick aerosol as a replacement spray. While Cy-Kick is considered safe to use in a home, almost all insecticides including the Cy-Kick aerosol demand that the area that is being treated be free of all people (except for the person doing the application) and animals while the spray is wet. You may be able to treat enclosed rooms one at a time and allow the room to air out for at least 30 minutes before entering it again. Almost all aerosol insecticides do have a bit of an odor that may prove to be bother some to people with lung/health issues. You may also want to try to use a granule insect bait such as the Intice Granular Bait. The bait is applied directly to cracks and crevices around the room and does not require you to spray a chemical into the air. We also recommend contacting the patients doctor to be sure whatever product you choose will not be harmful to someone with these specific conditions.
