How should I mix Martins Permethrin 10% and Precor IGR Concentrate?

Hi, I recently purchased these two items treating fleas indoors. I have two indoor cats. Can I simply put them in the bathroom until the carpeted areas dry? And would my husband and I have to leave the house after the treatment?

Answer:

To treat for fleas indoors, you would mix the Martins Permethrin 10% at the rate of 1.33 oz per gallon of water per 1000 sq. ft., and the Precor IGR at the rate of 1 oz per gallon of water. Both concentrates can be mixed together in the same gallon of water.  Pets and people (other than the person making the application) do need to stay out of the area while the products are being applied and until everything is fully dry. It would be a good idea for you to look over our article on How To Get Rid of Fleas if you have a moment. If you need to treat for several months, then we would recommend rotating the Permethrin with another product such as Conquer Insecticide, since cats can be sensitive to the active ingredient Permethrin.
