Bob from Niles, Mi writes

If Ultracide has a 7 month residual why do you have to treat the carpet over and over again?

If there is a residual in the chemical then why reapply in 2 weeks? Whatever hatches later wouldnt the residual be there waiting for the new fleas or larva?

Answer:

The IGR in the Ultracide is supposed to last for 7 months, however the adulticide you need to respray every 14 days as this is the rough hatching cycle for any that havent already come out from your daily vacuuming. This provides an extra knock down of any remaining adults and newly hatched fleas. On average, most homeowners who do a proper treatment, vacuum daily, and treat their pet and outdoor areas where the fleas originated will be rid of the fleas indoors by the 2nd spraying. For most products, the treatment and residual control is different when you are spraying "just in case" some get in, or if you are actually dealing with an active infestation.
