Is STUF-IT Copper Mesh the best way to seal an outlet behind a refrigerator to keep mice out?

There is a gap of a couple of inches around an outlet that is mounted on the baseboard moulding behind the refrigerator. Is it safe to use copper mesh? Should foam also be used? If so, which foam is appropriate for indoor use in that setting?

Answer:

You could use STUF-IT Copper Mesh around the outlet as long as the product in no way would come in contact with the wiring or the junction box inside as that could be a conduit and would be a fire hazard. We would recommend that you concentrate on the outside of you home in particular so that you are making sure that nothing is getting into the wall void, or has any access to the inside of you home. That is the only way to insure that you are completely covered completely from any mice entering your home.
