    Q
What does JT Eaton Answer Chipmunk Bait look like and how does the bait work?
    A
JT Eaton Chipmunk Bait comes in prepackaged place packs that contain pellets of the bait. The bait contains the active ingredient Chlorophacinone which is an anticoagulant. Once the chipmunks eat the bait they will succumb to the active ingredient within a matter of days.

    Q
How is JT Eaton Answer Chipmunk bait used without bait stations? No concerns about children and pets.
    A
It is recommended to use tamper resistant bait stations with the JT Eaton Answer Chipmunk bait.  However, you can place the bait directly in burrows or alongside runways and burrows that chipmunks use. Of course, you would not want to use the bait in the open if children or pets are nearby and could access it.  Please read the product label for full instructions. The JT Eaton Answer Chipmunk bait has recently been discontinued by the manufacturer.

    Q
How do you bait the rodent boxes with the JT Eaton Answer Chipmunk Bait?
How many bait pouches do I put inside of the bait box, on each side? How often should I check the boxes? When refilling bait boxes do I wash anything? Do human hands (scent) detour chipmunks from reentry?
    A
You can place as many bait pouches as you like on the rods inside the stations.  Typically though you would start with 2 on each side.  Just slide the entire pouch onto the rod, wrapper and everything.  The chipmunks will chew through the wrapping.  How often the bait should be replaced depends on how much chipmunk activity there is around.  You should check the stations daily to start with to see if they are eating all of the bait in a day.  The key to control is to keep enough bait in the station to supply the population around the house.  The goal is to not have it be empty when chipmunks go inside to look for food.  You may find that you have to replace the bait daily, or that you want to add 3 or 4 pouches per side if they are eating through 2 very quickly.  Human scent will not deter them from going into the station since they hang around the yard and eat other things that humans have touched all of the time, but other scents like cigarette smoke or cleaning chemicals will deter them so it is advised to wear gloves when working with the stations.  If you do have any further questions, please do not hesitate to call us at 866-581-7378.

    Q
    chipmunk and vole control
What is the preferred product to control / eliminate chunks and moles which are burrowing aside my deck footing and alongside and under my garden? Concerned about child safety, our garden products, and not killing off squirrels, grounds, rabbits, neighbor's pets, and birds. Thanks in advance.
    A
Unfortunately we do not have a replacement product for the JT Eaton Answer Chipmunk Bait so we do not have a product labeled for baiting for chipmunks or voles.  The only option we have at this time is trapping them.  Please see our Chipmunk trap page.
