I just bought an old house. Do you have a pest control plan that I should follow?

My husband and I just purchased a old house (built in 1901). The home needs a lot of renovation and has been vacant for about a year. We have not noticed any bugs besides a centipede, however, with such an old home and it being vacant we're assuming there are more pests than we realize. Before we move any of our belongings into the home we wanted to do some pest control, do you have any suggestions for our situation?

Answer:

The General Pest Control Starter Kit includes both the equipment and the chemicals you need to perform your own professional pest control prevention and maintenance treatments for insect pests. We recommend using an Integrated Pest Management approach for the best results, incorporating thorough inspection, sanitation and exclusion practices along with the use of products. This kit includes a Chapin 1 Gallon Pump Sprayer to apply the Temprid SC Insecticide concentrate. Temprid SC contains two powerful active ingredients for a quick initial knockdown and long residual activity. Also included is a Bellow Hand Duster to apply CimeXa Insecticide Dust to cracks, crevices, and wall voids for an extra layer of protection. Finally, the kit includes Catchmaster 100i Insect Monitor glue boards to help monitor your efforts and identify any pests that may be found in the area.
