Kinetic Nonionic Surfactant

Kinetic is a nonionic surfactant, wetter, spreader sticker that provides rapid spreading and absorption of pesticide, fungicide and nutrient sprays into plant leaves and stems. Because of its unique abilities, Kinetic can be used at much lower rates than conventional surfactants and is one of the most versatile adjuvants available.

We do carry a surfactant in a gallon size also called Dyneamic.

QHow much Kinetic Surfactant do I mix per gallon for spot spraying?
I plan on using the Kinetic Non Ionic Surfactant with Sedgehammer.

ATypically, you would use between 12 ounces and 64 ounces per 100 gallons. This would equate to .12 to .64 ounces per gallon of water. We typically suggest to split the middle on these calculations, so we would recommend about a third of an ounce per gallon of water.

QWhen should I use Kinetic, Dyne-amic, or the non-ionic surfactant from Southern Ag?

AThey are all basically the same thing, they are all actually non-ionic surfactants.  Depending on the herbicide you are using, it may or may not require the use of a surfactant with it.  Sometimes they require a surfactant that is of a certain percentage, and in that case you would want to use Dyneamic as it is 99%, which is a very high quality surfactant, which is why it is also the most expensive of the 3.  Most herbicides, though, don't specify, and the non-ionic from Southern Ag will work just great with most herbicides.

QHow would Kinetic Nonionic Surfactant work with neem oil for my garden?

A

It is not recommended that you mix Neem Oil with a Kinetic Surfactant because you will likely burn your plants. Neem Oil is already an oil and does not need to be mixed with anything.

QSilicone in formula of Kinetic Nonionic Surfactant ?
From researching, it appears *Kinetic Nonionic Surfactant* includes silicone. If in fact it does, shouldn't the description include, weather resistant (rain resistant)? If not, what justifies the high cost of this surfactant?

AThe product label for Kinetic does list that it contains organosilicone surfactant but the manufacturer has not intended for it to be weather resistant so to speak.  This product provides rapid spreading and absorption of pesticide, fungicide and nutrient sprays into plant leaves and stems so while it does not make anything more weather resistant it does help increase the effectiveness of products that can make it seem more longer lasting.  The price is based on the technology and research that goes into making the product and is set by the manufacturers cost.

QHow well does Kinetic Nonionic Surfactant work as a wetting agent for peat?
1. Will this have any negative effects on the plant or people who eat from the plant housed in the Kinetic infused soil? 2. About how long would the wetting agent effects last? At least a season or is it like other organic surfactants that break down very quick(Around 3 months) and require multiple applications.

A

Kinetic Nonionic Surfactant is a nonionic surfactant, wetter, spreader sticker that provides rapid spreading and absorption of pesticide, fungicide and nutrient sprays into plant leaves and stems.  It would not be recommended to be used for as a wetting agent for peat as it is for Liquid Fertilizers, Fungicides, Herbicides and Insecticides as directed on the product label.  Kinetic is usually added to help these products better stick to plants and other vegetation, it is not applied to soil or peat.  It is safe when used as directed on the label and can generally be applied as often as the product it is mixed with is needed to be applied.  We do apologize but are unable to answer the remaining questions as they pertain to an off label usage that we do not have information on.

QTrying to kill quack grass in an established lawn. Will this product (kinetic) kill the lawn too?

AKinetic is just a surfactant and should not kill anything at all. Kinetic is usually added to herbicides, pesticides or fungicides to help the products better stick to plants and other vegetation. We do carry a full line of herbicides if you need to purchase an herbicide. You can read the product label of any herbicide you choose to make sure your species of grass is listed as a tolerant variety. Product label links are available on individual product pages under the picture of the product.
