One of the best products to use for mosquito and fly control would be the Talstar P. Its a great general use insecticide that is safe for plants, trees, lawns and even indoor use, and has no odor and leaves behind no stain or visible residue. It will hold up to the outdoor elements for at least 30 days and in some areas you could get up to 60 days control from each spray. You would mix Talstar at the rate of 1 ounce per gallon of water. You can spray the talstar with something like a Chapin 1 Gallon Pump Sprayer, or if you have a larger area to spray you could use a backpack sprayer like the Chapin ProSeries 4 gallon sprayer. For added control over the mosquitoes, flies and other bugs in your area, you could mix in NyGuard IGR to the same gallon of water mixture with the Talstar. The NyGuard is birth control for the insects to help keep them from reproducing faster than you can kill them. While the Talstar will only last about 30-60 days, the NyGuard is actually formulated to hold up to sunlight for up to 5 months so you may only need to spray it once or twice per season.
