Always the Best Multi Bug Killer Available
By Bob in Jamestown NC on 06/28/2010
I've been using Malathion to control insects outdoors for many years. This product can be used on most all plants with no harm, as well as outdoor surfaces and is the most effective product I've ever used . I even spray my mulched areas, house foundation areas, bricked porch and patio, especially to control ants. If you have ant problems this is the product you want to use. Be sure to follow all directions and I wear protective gloves as the product leaves a slight oil residue and odor on skin. Use in calm weather and dilute according to directions. You may not like the slight odor this product leaves behind but it will eventually fade away but so will your bug problem! ! !

I use the product for general purpose outdoor control. I find it most effective for mosquitos. The cost of the Malathion is good as was the service from DMOPC. I will definetly order again.

Seems to be working!
By Wv in Parkersburg, West Virginia on 08/29/2012
I have problems with mosquitos and biting flies. I've sprayed twice with Malathion 57% and have noticed a decrease in both pests. This product is a residual, so it lasts a bit longer than others that are not. The only downside is the heavy chemical smell, but given the results thus far, I can live with that. I've sprayed my plants and shrubbery, and so far have noticed no ill-effects. Many thanks to you guys for your help and patience. I'll be re-ordering again.

Best Overall Multi Use Product.
By Bobkat in Jamestown, NC on 01/22/2016
I've been using this product for several decades, yes decades! Always reliable, always my first choice for outdoor insect control. Once you get pests under control stick to a scheduled maintenance routine and bugs will not be a problem. Words of advice are, apply in late evening, calm winds, wear gloves and follow all directions. I've used this product on everything from trees and shrubs to delicate flowers and turf. Only downside is product odor can be strong if using a heavy setting.

QWhen applying Malathion, what is the suggested mixture percentage per gallon of water for a fruit tree?
AMalathion 57% is typically meant for treating large areas or crop land. The label typically calls for 1 to 1.5 pints per 100 gallons of water for fruit trees which works out to be .15 to .20 ounces per gallon of water. However, for safety and proper treatment you should find your particular fruit tree on the product label for accuracy and exact mixture ratios.

QCan I put malathion on my goat pasture and how long should i keep them off before returning to graze?
AMalathion, up until a couple of months ago, was labeled for use on pastures. I now see that the manufacturer has removed this use from their label so I gave them a call. Control Solutions has told us that they do not recommend that use Malathion on the pasture at all. The manufacturer is checking on another product that may work better for your needs. We should have more information for you tomorrow.
QWhen is it okay to water after applying Malathion 57% spray?
A Malathion is considered rain fast after it has dried. Give at approximately 4 hours to completely dry.

QCan Malathion 57% can be mixed with Ultra-Pure oil horticultural insecticide, miticide and fungicide?
The rate for ornamental trees straying against leafhopper I count the same as you suggested for fruit trees 0.15-0.2fl.oz. per 1gal. of water or 12-13ml. per 10l. water. I will make a mixture of that both pesticides - Malathion57% 12ml . and 200ml. of Pure Oil for 10l of water. Could you please correct me if I am wrong! Thanks
A These products can be mixed together.†We would recommend doing a small tank mixture to ensure that there is no clumping. The mixing ratio for Malathion is .15 to .20 ounces per gallon of water. The mixing ratio if the Ultra Pure Oil is 1-2.5 fl. oz. per gallon of water.†

QWill Malathion 57% be ok for rosebushes?
severe fly infestation on rosebushes.
A Malathion is labeled for use on ornamentals. It is not specifically labeled for roses. We would recommend using Fertilome Triple Action. It is an insecticide, miticide and fungicide in one. It is safe for use on roses and other plants as well.†

QWill Malation 57 burn a fruit tree if sprayed?
fruit trees have brown spotted leaves..
AMalathion 57% is labeled for applications of certain fruits. We will need more information on the insect or disease that is causing the brown spots on the leaves and the kinds of fruit that you will be applying the product to so that we can offer the best product and application specific to your needs to ensure that the tree does not burn.

QWill Malathion 57% work on Japanese beetle on elm trees?
AMalathion 57% is labeled for Japanese Beetles and should do a great job for you when used as directed on the product label. Malathion 57% is typically meant for treating large areas or crop land. We would recommend Talstar P. It is a insecticide that is labeled for lawn and ornamentals and is safe for plants, bushes, shrubs and trees. Talstar will provide a 30 day residual on the plants that you spray and should provide relief against the Japanese beetles whereas the Malathion will only kill the ones that it makes contact with during application.

QIs Malathion good for grubs?
ANo, Malathion 57% is not labeled for grubs. We would recommend using Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix over two years in order to treat for grubs for a long period of time. One bag will treat 7000 sq. ft. However, it is too late in the year to be doing any type of grub treatments. This should only be used during the spring, summer and fall months.
