    Q
For a Kioritz soil injector around a hemlock tree, how do I mix Mallet 75 WSP Systemic Insecticide from you?
The instruction on the package that came from you just says one envelope per 48 inch in circumference, with no mention of amount to water mixed in. I would like to use as little water as possible to make the injection process efficient.
    A
The amount of water will be up to you. Water is just a carrier in this case, so you just need to use enough water to evenly distribute the Mallet 75 WSP.

Yes, Mallet 75 WSP can be used to systemically control mealybugs. The easiest way to apply the Mallet for systemic use is by performing a soil drench. Each envelope of Mallet comes with four 1.6 water soluble packets. Each packet will treat 24-48 inches of cumulative shrub height.

    Q
Can Mallet 75 WSP be used on coleus, lantana and caladiums?
    A
Mallet 75 WSP is labeled for plants, shrubs, and trees.  It should be no problem on the type of plants that you listed, but it would help to know what kind of insect you are treating.  You should read the product label to make sure the target pest is covered by mallet.

    Q
    Mango / Fruit Tree
Can this be applied via soil/root drench to a tree which will fruit - that I intend to eat?
    A
Mallet cannot be applied to a fruiting tree. Most systemics cannot be applied to a fruit tree. Imidapro 4SC is the only systemic insecticide that we can think of that can be applied to fruit trees. We recommend reviewing the product label to make sure it can be applied to the type of fruit trees you have. The product label does list mango fruit trees as a variety that may be treated with the product.

    Q
How do I mix up smaller amounts of Mallet 75 WSP Systemic Insecticide?
I have only 3 trees and dont need to use a whole 1.6 oz pkg. Can you tell me how much to mix?
    A

Mallet 75 WSP Systemic Insecticide is specifically designed for mix rates per packet. There is no real way to accurately dilute that down. Dominion 2L may be a better choice for you. Dilute at .2oz per inch of trunk diameter.

    Q
What is the rate for a basal trunk spray for hemlock wooly adelgids using Mallet 75 WSP Systemic Insecticide?
35 hemlocks of different size and diameters. want to use one basic mixture in 20 gal sprayer tank, preferably dose for largest tree and continue with smaller trees. how much mallet in 20 gal. water. Does mallet respond to ph level in tank water, and will spreader sticker benefit in tank mixture.
    A

For adelgid control, Mallet 75 WSP Systemic Insecticide is mixed at 1 packet in 300 gallons of water as a foliar spray.  It cannot be mixed in any smaller quantities than that.  It should be applied as a foliar spray or as a soil drench. It is not labeled for a basal trunk spray.  For a soil drench, you’ll mix 1 packet per 12-48 inches of trunk diameter at breast height in no less than 10 gallons of water per 1000 square feet as a drench around the base of the tree.  You can use a surfactant like Hi Yield Spreader Sticker if you’re using the Mallet 75 as a foliar spray.  There is no specific pH listed on the product label, but generally the pH of your water is recommended to be between 6-8.
