How Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel Works
Maxforce Roach Bait Gel with fipronil is simply irresistible to roaches. When other baits won't attract aberrant-feeding roaches, Maxforce Roach Bait Gel will. In side-by-side comparisons, Maxforce Roach Bait Gel outperformed competing brands. With a proprietary formula developed by Bayer, the gel attracts and kills both finicky and normal roaches — even when sanitation is poor and other food sources are available. Maxforce Roach Bait Gel provides long residual and fast control of even large roaches.
Maxforce's exclusive Domino Effect delayed killing action enables one contaminated roach to kill many others where they live and breed. A foraging roach will receive a lethal dose from a single feeding, but lives long enough to return to the harborage where its poisoned feces are consumed by other roaches. It's all possible with Fipronil, the active ingredient in Maxforce Roach Gel, that has no known resistance in roaches and is odor-free. Fipronil is in the Phenylpyrazole family of insecticides and is used in many products when a delayed kill is desired, such as ant and roach baits. Fipronil disrupts the insect central nervous system, causing hyperexcitation of nerves and muscles.
About the Accelerated Maxforce Domino Effect
Our fast control formula still gives you superior long-term control of roaches compared to contact sprays. The active ingredient, Fipronil, provides a unique mode of action that works through both ingestion and contact, knocking down roaches and ants that eat or simply touch the bait. Either way, one contaminated roach or ant kills many others where they live and breed. The Domino Effect still achieves population control, but with faster visible results.
Roaches, German Roaches, American Roaches
PESTS CONTROLLED: Cockroaches including German Roaches, American Roaches, Brown-Banded Roaches, Smokey-Brown Roaches, Oriental Roaches
Target Uses of Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel
Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel is labeled for both indoor and outdoor use, including commercial kitchens. What's more, you can use Maxforce Gel in residential food processing areas without covering food preparation surfaces during treatment. It's also fine to use in occupied rooms of hospitals, nursing homes and extended care facilities.
Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel can be used for virtually any roach infestation, but should not be used as a preventative measure. Be sure to eliminate competing food and water sources for best results when using baits.
ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Fipronil 0.01%
Application rate is dependent on level of infestation and species to be controlled; see application rate table. Apply bait as a spot or as a bead in cracks and crevices. The lower application rate should be used for low to moderate infestations or re-treatments, and the higher rate for more severe infestations or where the population occurs in inaccessible areas. Gel placements should be at or near harborages or aggregation areas, such as corners, or cracks and crevices. Numerous smaller placements will provide faster control than fewer larger spots, especially for German cockroach control.
Place bait under baseboards, sinks, countertops, seats, around water pipes, water heaters, dishwasher equipment, in crack and crevices as well as voids where insects harbor.
Pest population reduction will be apparent with 2 -or- 3 days for German roaches and 8 days for American roaches.
Prior to using, gel may need to be shaken well if any separation has occurred. On 30 g tubes, unscrew the black cap (or break off the tip) and replace with included open tip. After use, replace the black cap before storage. For 60 g tubes, simply remove the white tip cover to use, then replace for storage.
*Always read the product label completely before use.
Each 60 g tube will yield approximately 60 bait placements. Each box of 4 x 30 g tubes will yield approximately 120 bait placements.
Standard Application Rates:
*1-2 spots (dime sized) or 1.5” – 3” bead: Moderate infestations or re-treats for German or Brown-banded roaches
*2-4 spots (quarter-sized) or 3” - 6” bead: Severe or heavy infestations
*1/3” to ½” spots: Large roaches such as American, Smokey-brown or Oriental
For use in the following areas:
Indoors and outdoors (adjacent to homes and structures) in residential areas and the non-food/non-feed areas of institutional, warehousing and commercial establishments, including warehouses, restaurants, food processing plants, supermarkets, hospitals, nursing homes, motels, hotels, apartment buildings, bakeries, beverage plants, breweries, bottling facilities, candy plants, canneries, cereal processing and manufacturing plants, dairies and dairy product processing plants, frozen food plants, schools, laboratories, computer facilities, sewers, ”aircraft,“ buses, boats/ships, trains, homes, houses, industrial buildings, office buildings, kennels, kitchens, manufacturing facilities, spice plants, stores, wineries, mausoleums, meat processing and packaging plants, meat and vegetable canneries, pet shops and zoos. Non-food/non-feed areas include bedrooms, living rooms, bathrooms, closets, media rooms, garbage rooms, lavatories, entries, vestibules, offices, locker rooms, machine rooms, boiler rooms, garages, mop closets and storage (after canning or bottling); food/feed areas of food/feed handling establishments
Following is a general room-by-room placement guide for Maxforce Roach Bait Stations (Exact placement should be based on a complete monitoring and inspection. See our Indoor Roach Control Guide for images.):
Kitchen FC Bait Station Placements
* Refrigerator: Between refrigerator and nearby appliance, such as the dishwasher
* Sink: Alongside pipe collar where drainpipe enters the wall
* Cupboards: Flush mounted against an upper corner
* Other appliances: Behind microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, etc.
* Floor placements: underneath dishwasher and/or oven
Kitchen Gel Placements
* Drawers: Alongside the interior of the door frame
* Cupboards: Underneath selected cupboards where frame meets wall
* Counter: Underneath counter where sink is located
* Fume Hood: Along the inside rear corner of hood (ensure no gel will drip onto stove top)
Bathroom Bait Station Placements
* Toilet: Mounted on upper rear corner of tank
* Lower Cabinets: Flush mounted against an upper corner
* Sink: Alongside pipe collar where drainpipe enters the wall
Bathroom Gel Placements
* Sink: Upward angle into the overflow drain
* Condensation Surfaces: Places where condensation can build up such as the tops of doorframes and medicine cabinets, and alongside decorations
Other Rooms (Indoors) Bait Station Placements
* Closets: Flush mounted against an upper corner
* Appliances: Behind the television, stereo, computer monitor, fish tank, wall clocks, light fixtures, etc.
* Dressers: Flush mounted in corner alongside the interior of the drawer frame

* Garage: Flush mounted to door frame where roaches can enter residence
Other Room Gel Placements
* Interior piping: Around all exposed interior pipe channels (such as hot water heater inlet)
Food Handling Establishments: Treatment is limited to crack and crevice treatment only. Place applicator tip 1/2 inch into cracks, crevices, holes and other small openings where roaches may be a problem. Apply small amounts of gel per spot. Do not apply bait to areas where food/feed, utensils or processing surfaces may become contaminated. Do not apply bait to areas that are routinely washed such as cracks and crevices in tops of tables, food/feed preparation and prepared food holding surfaces as bait may be removed by washing. Apply bait in small amounts between different elements of construction, between equipment and floors, openings leading into voids and hollow spaces in floors, walls, ceilings, equipment legs and bases, around plumbing pipes, doors and windows, behind and under refrigerators, cabinets, sinks, closets, stoves and other equipment where cockroaches hide. Inspect bait placements and reapply as necessary.
Place bait in areas adjacent to structures where roaches may nest or breed. Apply bait to potential points of insect entry, such as eaves, sills, and expansion joints. Apply bait in protected areas whenever possible. Environmental stresses such as direct sunlight and water will reduce the residual effectiveness. Priority treatment areas may be identified by visual inspection of such areas listed above or aided by trapping techniques or spot flushing.
Bait can also be applied in refillable bait stations every 20 to 30 feet around the perimeter of the structure. Use approx. 2 stations per side of a typical single family home. Do not exceed 2-4 spots (3”-6” bead) per station. Do not exceed up to 1 tsp. per station. For best results, place stations near: air conditioning units, water faucets, foundation vents and weep holes, decks, utility entryways (e.g. electrical, cable TV) and wherever cockroaches are frequently found. Regularly inspect and replace bait as needed.
Outdoor Gel Placements:
* Rain Gutters: Apply in seam between rain gutters and roof
* Attic and Soffit Vents: Between air vent holes
* Siding: Under siding/molding
* Exposed pipes: Around all exterior pipe collars or where pipe enters wall
* Also: In brick weep holes, in window cracks and crevices, around decks and stairs, around the intake vents of air conditioning units

Definitely the stuff to buy!
By Anna on 09/14/2008
What can I say except that if you have a roach problem this is definitely the stuff to buy. I used to dread going into my kitchen at night. As soon as I turned on the light there were roaches all over and nothing I used worked. And I used it all-- sprays, powders, bait, traps -- everything I heard of. Then I stumbled on this site and ordered Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel and Maxforce FC Roach Stations and put them both down. Well let me tell you, that was one year ago and I still have not seen any roaches and I definitely swear by this product and will swear by this product to all my friends. Use it if you have a roach because when you do you will see what I am talking about. Never use anything else... a VERY Satisfied customer.

No fumes, worked great
By Tammy on 05/19/2008
Trust me when I say this product works. I was afraid to go into my kitchen at night because the counter tops would be swarming with roaches. I used Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel after it was recommended to me by an exterminator and in a short time I had no more roaches. I used it once around six months ago it has been working since. I recently saw two roaches so I'll give my kitchen another application. Don't buy Raid or any of those other smelly products that don't work. This one does not smell and works 5 times better. I have two small children at home and was relieved that there were no fumes to worry about.

I purchased Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel, Advion Roach Bait Gel, CB Borid Boric Acid Dust, Demon WP Insecticide, Gentrol IGR Concentrate, and Maxforce FC Roach Bait Stations (72 count) for my roach problem because I had out of town guest come to visit who brought them in from their suitcases. I was mortified at how quickly they multiplied and I was overwhelmed with the costs to get rid of them so I decided to purchase things myself. I had a really large order with DoMyOwnPestControl and before I completed the order they emailed me letting me know that I had purchased way more than I needed. That really spoke measures to me because most people would only care about making money. They told me what to get and how to use it and it hasn't even been a month and they are almost completely gone...If I see one he is dying. I will continue to use them for any pest control needs and I have referred my friends and family. Thanks!

Could not believe the results!
By Nedda on 07/25/2008
This is the best product me and my family have ever used. It stops them the moment you put the gel down. When I was living in an apartment complex the people that lived above me never use to empty their trash when needed. So it caused roaches in my unit- little ones and medium size. Well to make a long story short, this man was out one day, I believe he was testing the product Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel and he put some in my kitchen and he left the remaining of it with me. I forgot that I even had more and the next day there was not one single bug or roach. I could not believe it . So I called everyone I knew. I recommend all of the Maxforce products.

Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel gets the job done. I've lived in a roach infested apartment for over a year. One application of this product eliminated our roach problem. I don't write reviews, but this product is too good not to express my appreciation.

I asked the roaches to comment on the effectiveness of this product...none of them replied...because they're dead. Easy to apply. Roaches seem to love the stuff.

Roach Be Gone For Good with Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel
By David in Katy, TX on 10/22/2011
I used to live in a 2 bedroom apartment in a small city in MD and lived above two ladies who were very unclean. The home was sectioned off into 3 separate apartments. After living in the apartment I immediately began to realize why the rent was cheap when I started seeing German Cockroaches all over the place. They were crushed in the cabinets and the refrigerator door and they would pull a special ops mission in the middle of the night by jumping from the ceiling onto the bed and crawl on me. I got tired of having people over at my house because of these pests. They were everywhere. Plus they leave a horrible odor when they reside in your home. My landlord was paying an exterminator to come and spray the house every month. I swear they were only spraying more of them down because I kept seeing more and more. One day I ran into a guy who worked for another extermination company and he gave me a box of this Maxforce Roach Bait Gel. Man oh man. After a period of about 1 to 2 months I did not see 1 of them in the house. I lived in the apartment for about 3 more years and I was completely roach free for the whole duration of my stay. This stuff is the real deal. I would definitely recommend to anyone who has a roach problem. MAXFORCE you are the best!!!

Ready for Something That Works?
By Barbara in Shelbyville, Ky. on 07/05/2011
Tried everything on the market, sprays, those little roach motel type baits, and multiple treatments with foggers, even those worthless digital things you plug in. They hid behind them! Got a tube of Maxforce and they were dropping dead within 3 inches of the bait. Best thing I've ever tried!

Not as effective as advertised
By Kk in Atlanta, Ga on 09/14/2010
We have an infestation of German roaches in the kitchen and pantry areas. Despite applying MaxForce Gel in all "hangouts" of these roaches, they seem to be thriving. We applied the gel behind and under the drawers, in the gaps in the baseboards, under the sink, behind doors etc. and the bugs seem to be ignoring the stuff rather than eat it. We are going to try the Invict bait next, but MaxForce proved to be a total waste.

Maxforce FC is the only thing that has ever worked for me
By Debra in New York, NY on 07/31/2010
I used Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel in two apartments in the same building in NYC and obliterated the creatures after the first application. Using the handy applicator, I just injected the gel between the baseboards and the floors and around and under the dishwasher and stove. I also applied some gel on the outside of drawers and around the hinges of the cabinets. This stuff stops them dead in their tracks. I haven't seen a roach in weeks. I plan to tell my building super about this, as I know some of my neighbors are still infested and I don't want their little friends visiting me! Although, if they do, they're in for a big surprise :-)

I don't think this will get rid of EVERY roach problem
By Matt in Houston, TX on 07/27/2009
I had a bad American roach problem in a 4 unit apartment building. I used the syringe and placed the Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel in the bathroom and kitchen, and wherever I saw roaches, in all of the units. I don't believe this "domino" effect claim - I would see a few die over the next couple weeks, then they would be seen again within a month. So the rate of "seen" roaches went down. I ended up hiring an exterminator who had to treat with some 4 or 5 products to actually get rid of the roaches. I saw more roaches then than I ever had seen (yes they hide from you). It took another spraying to actually get rid of the beasts (but they are back again in smaller numbers - in Texas they are all over). So this will work for a small number of roaches, but if you think you have a problem, you probably are going to need to spray/dust and bait the place.

Do It Yourself
By Ian in San Francisco, CA on 05/08/2009
Managing 54 apartment units I suppose it is somewhat inevitable someone is going to bring in some roaches that will end up infecting everyone else. First I got some NiBan stuff, which worked really well for a few months. Perhaps it was because I cut open the bag on the wrong side and ended up duct taping it that the product wasn't as effective as it was before, being exposed to air/elements. I hired a pest control guy ($250!) and watched him apply the Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel. Then got the same thing and did it myself! He told me there are only 2 ways roaches get into your place: 1) from other people, and 2) from used appliances. I always thought that if you were filthy and didn't clean they would find their way to you...but I was wrong. So people, don't buy used appliances from a secondhand store!

I experienced the amazing results of Maxforce FC roach bait gel getting rid of roaches over eleven years ago when I lived in an apartment. Now my family and myself will be moving to a home in Alabama that has an American roach problem. I have already ordered me some Maxforce to take with me to Alabama to get rid of the roaches. I told my husband about Maxforce but he's not convinced it will rid our soon to be roach problem. He is going to be so amazed at the drastic results of Maxforce. I cant wait to use it. I swear by it (as they say) and my husband soon will too.

Have a question about this product?
Ask our product experts...
Ask a Question
QWill Maxforce FC Roach Gel hurt my cat or dog?
AMaxforce FC Roach Bait Gel is only strong enough to kill small roaches. There is no evidence of secondary poisoning with Maxforce or any roach products for that matter. Remember that a roach would eat such a small amount of gel, and the gel only contains .01% of active ingredient. There is no way that it would cause your cat to be sick. Although the thought of eating roaches makes even us feel a little sick!
QHow safe is roach gel in my kitchen with food and children?
AMaxforce FC Roach Bait Gel is very safe to use in a kitchen when it is used as directed on the product label. According to the product label, you should place small dots of bait every 10-12 inches directly in cracks and crevices on and under counter tops, in cabinets, cupboards, drawers and food pantries, around dishwashers, refrigerators, sinks, pipes and baseboards. Do not place bait on food prep surfaces or in places that you will frequently touch or in places that are frequently washed.

QWhat would happen if my dog or cat ingested the roach bait gel?
AMaxforce FC Roach Bait Gel is only strong enough to kill small roaches. There is no evidence of secondary poisoning with Maxforce or any roach products for that matter.
QCan I buy Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel in a store?
ANo. Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel is a professional product that is not available in stores. You can always purchase the bait with us, we have free shipping!
QHow many tubes of Maxforce FC do I need to buy for covering moderate German roach infestation?
in kitchen and 2 room
AYou need to apply a spot of gel every 12 inches directly into cracks and crevices in each room. Each tube of Maxforce FC roach bait gel contains enough gel to make about 60 spots applications. The amount of gel you will need will depend on the size of each room. After roaches eat the gel it should be replaced so monitor the gel placements and refresh when necessary. For larger infestations you may need 1 tube per room. You may also want to consider using our roach control kit #2 to help control the roach polpulation faster.
QWill gel roach baits attract other roaches if i live in an apartment building?
We just moved to a new apartment and seen two German roaches. We had a professional come and spray and also sprayed an IGR, however, were not sure if the roaches were here or are coming from another apartment building. If we get the Maxforce FC gel, will this attract them if they are coming from another apartment and make the problem worse? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. I have a 6 month old who will start crawling soon, and I am worried he can get sick from the roaches.
ANo, Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel will not attract more roaches to it from other apartments. If they are there, they will eat the bait gel and die. We would not recommend putting the bait gel in places where the professional sprayed because it will contaminate the baits, and the roaches will not eat it. It is recommended that you put the bait gel in the cabinets and drawers and basically places where you cannot spray. The gel will dry out and get a dry skin on top but roaches will still eat it up to a year.
10/29/2013 Chelsea from Abilene,tx
QIs Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel taken back to the nest for other roaches to die?
AWhen roaches come out from hiding looking for food, they will pick up the Maxforce FC Roach Bait gel and take it back to where the other roaches are. The bait is then transfered and produces a domino killing effect.
09/05/2013 Chalita from United States
QHow often should I use the Max Force treatment for roaches?
AYou should place MaxForce Roach Bait Gel out as often as needed. You should only apply roach gel if you have a problem. If you do not have a problem, you should not place roach gel out as it is a food that will attract roaches, you do not want to attract a problem if you don't have one. If you do have a current roach issue, you should apply as often as you need to. In bad infestations, you may need to apply weekly if the roaches are eating it that fast.

QIs Maxforce safe to use around birds?
I have pet parrots. What are the ingredients in Maxforce and it is safe around birds and cats? Can I get written information to show my vet about the safety? Is there a guarantee available? Thank you.
A Maxforce FC Roach Bait gel should be safe to use around any pet as long as you keep the application out of reach of the pet. Since you are applying a gel and not a spray, there is nothing released into the air where sensitive animals such as birds could run into respiratory issues. That being said you should always defer to your veterinarians advice. We do not have any other written safety information other than the information available on the product label and the MSDS. We do not offer product guarantees but these are the same products used by professionals and if you use them as part of your roach control plan you will have the same results as a professional. I have included a link below for you to learn what is needed for a complete roach control program: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/how-to-get-rid-of-german-roaches-a-245.html

QDoes Maxforce FC have fumes, or is it toxic?
My mom and I have allergies and asthma problems. Yes, I know cockroaches don't help but I live in an apartment. We get them from the constant moving and coming of tenants. We can't handle the fumes of the sprays and its bad enough with the other toxic painting and glues used. I was wondering if this has a lot of fumes and toxic elements that would irritate or activate our asthma..please advise.
AMaxforce FC Roach Gel is very safe and does not emit any fumes whatsoever. There should be no issued with your allergies and this product.
QWhat is the shelf life of the Maxforce FC Roach bait Gel?
I've had some Maxforce FC Roach bait gel bait for at least 4-5 years. It was stored in the summer and winter temperatures in a tool shed. Do I need new gel?
AYes. The Maxforce line of Roach and Ant Gels can be stored for up to two years at room temperature if they are unopened. Once the Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel is opened it needs to be used within 1 year. After 1 year the gel will become stale and ineffective.
QIs it safe to put Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel in the pantry on the floor with food?
Our exterminator placed some of this on the floor in our pantry because we had German roaches. Is this safe being closed up in the pantry with the food? Just want to be certain. All types of pesticides make me nervous.
AWe will not comment on your pest control operators work, but we will tell you that as long as the Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel is used as directed on the product label, it is safe to use in the food pantry. Since this bait is in gel form it is not released into the air and does not move through the air. The Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel label recommends "Gel placements should be at or near harborages or aggregation areas, such as corners, or cracks and crevices. Numerous smaller placements will provide faster control than fewer larger spots, especially for German cockroach control" Maxforce FC can also be used in bait plate stations.
QDoes the Maxforce FC Roach Killer Bait Gel (0.01% Fipronil) come with an applicator?
AWe provide a plunger with each order to apply all of our roach and ant gels with, including the Maxforce FC Roach Killer Bait Gel.
QHow good does Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel work on German Roaches?
I have a rental property and this is the worst pest we have to try to get rid of.
A The Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel is our most popular roach control product for the last 5 years. It is proven to be a very good measure of control for roaches. As with any pest problem though you need to have the cooperation of the tenants as far as keeping the kitchen area clean, no dishes in the sink overnight, trash taken out when it should, counters and floor cleaned and swept, etc. This product is a food bait that will attract the roaches to eat it, but it will only work if there is not other human food for it to compete with. For best results or bad roach problems you should use our Roach Control Kit. It comes with a roach gel that also works very well along with two other products that when used together provides excellent results for eliminating roaches.
