Miracle-Gro Garden Weed Preventer 1 is a potent formula created to prevent weeds from emerging while providing nutrition to your garden, and lasts up to 3 months. It is an effective and efficient herbicide that prevents weeds from germinating and invading your garden or lawn, while giving your vegetable garden and flower beds proper nutrition. This product comes with an easy-to-use applicator for efficient application of the granules.
Since Miracle-Gro Garden Weed Preventer works by preventing weed seed germination, existing weeds must be removed before applying. Avoid over-application to prevent carryover problems with sensitive plants the following season. Do not use in enclosed areas such as greenhouses.

For established plants (for listed flowers, ground covers, trees and shrubs):
Sprinkle around established plants at the rate of 1 oz. per 10 square feet, rake into the top 1 to 3 inches of the soil and water lightly to establish the weed barrier.
For bulbs:
Two to four weeks after bulbs have been planted, sprinkle around bulbs at the rate of 1 oz. per 10 square feet and lightly water in.
For pre-planting application:
Prior to transplanting 2 to 3 listed flowers, or less than 10 weeks prior to planting listed vegetable seeds, apply to medium soil 1 oz. per 60 square feet. Rake into the top 1 to 3 inches of soil.
For established plants, apply anytime during the growing season and reapply every 3 months. Please refer to the plant list for where product can be used.

Miracle-Gro Garden Weed Preventer 1 will provide up to 3 months of pre-emergent weed protection, so you would need to wait at least 3 months before planting seeds. You can apply the product to established flowers, which are flowers that have been growing for at least 2 weeks.
Miracle-Gro Garden Weed Preventer 1 is not labeled to be used on fruits like blueberries. It should only be used on the labeled vegetables.
