    Will Monterey Fruit Tree & Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench hurt honey bees?

    The Monterey Fruit Tree & Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench would harm the bees if the product was applied topically as a foliar spray and they came into direct contact with that surface. A systemic application of the product would not harm the bees as it would only bee absorbed by the types of insects that actually feed on the tree down past a certain level of the trees outer layers.

    What is a good product(s) and spray schedule to use to keep the worms out of the fruit on plum and peach tree?
    My trees look healthy but I can see spider webs and small spiders in the trees. I'd like to get rid of them also but I don't think they are causing the worms. I live in Savannah GA and its humid here. I have peach, plum, and nectarine trees that have worms.

    Fruit Tree and Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench is a good product to use for the elimination of pests prior to the fruit emerging. This product is labeled for various insects, including common pests that may be in fruit. One application is season long. The application depends upon the distance the trunk to the drip line.

    Would like to use on a pomegranate tree, using for the leafy bug.
    Did not come with instruction book attached for some reason. Need to know if I can apply when the tree is in bloom which is now end of March? And what the ratio is and how to mix the liquid, and how to put it onto the tree/bush? Does it need to be watered in? Also I assume only treat once and year, and if this is not a good time what would be?

    According to the label for the Fruit Tree and Vegetable Systemic, when treating for leafy bugs on pomegranate trees, you cannot make more than one application per year and do not apply until the trees have flowered or when bees are actively foraging. The mixing ratio is 1.5 fl. oz. per gallon of water. You need to stay within 3 feet of the dripline when pouring around the base of the tree. This needs to be poured evenly around the tree.

    How to mix up the Monterey Fruite Tree & Vegetable Sytstemic Soil Drench?
    A

     Evenly apply ½ ounce of Monterey Fruit Tree & Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench in 1 quart of water per 10 square feet of vegetable row to be treated.  For trees Measure the distance (radius) from the tree trunk to the drip line, and round down to the nearest foot. The drip line is the outer edge of the foliage. See the rate table found on pages 3 & 4 of the label for the application amounts. Add the required amount of product to one gallon of water, and pour the mixture evenly onto the ground around the base of the tree. Follow by pouring another gallon of water around the base of the tree.

    What is the best systemic insecticide to use on citrus trees to control scale in a greenhouse?

    We do not currently have any systemic products that are labeled for use on edibles in a greenhouse.We would suggest using Bonide Insecticidal Soap RTU to eliminate scale on the citrus trees. This can be done weekly or bi-weekly as needed. This can be used up until the day of harvest.

    Does Monterey Fruit Tree & Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench kill borers in nectarine and apricot trees?
    The trees are about20 yrs. old, and have been infested with borers for years, but have produced excellent fruit. My husband used a drench product to treat this year, but unfortunately it says we cannot eat the fruit this year. I am looking for a product I can use to save my trees (if it's not too late), but still be able to eat fruit next year.

    Monterey Fruit Tree & Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench is only labeled to control aphids and leafminers on nectarine and apricot trees.  We are not aware of a drench product that will control borers and still allow you to eat the fruit.  Unfortunately, if the trees are very heavily infested, it may not be possible to save them, but if they are not, you may want to consider using a product that contains the active ingredient Spinosad, such as Monterey Garden Insect Spray. This can be sprayed on tree trunks as larvae hatch and directly into borer holes. Spraying can be repeated every six days up to two weeks before harvest.

    Fruit Tree and Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench is a concentrated insecticide to be mixed and applied as a soil drench to combat leaf-feeding insects and various beetles. You will want to follow the label instructions for application. Bonide Fruit Tree Spray is a liquid fruit tree spray concentrate containing insecticide, fungicide, aphicide, miticide, scalicide, and spreadersticker all in one solution. It will be a great foliar application as well. Please refer to the product label for specific mixing and application instructions.

    The label for the Fruit Tree and Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench advises to not make more than one application per season on most plants.  With any systemic product it can take time to be translocated throughout the tree, up to 8 weeks.  It works by killing plant sucking plants that feed on the plant and ingest the product so does not keep bugs away.  Could you tell us what type of tree you are treating for and what type of bug so we can make a recommendation a product to apply as a foliar spray?

    Can Monterey Fruit Tree & Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench be used to kill ants in container plants?
    A

    Monterey Fruit Tree & Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench is not labeled for use in containers or pots. For indoor herb, vegetable or fruit gardens, it usually best to stick with baits that are contained in ant bait stations. The ants will enter the stations, gather the bait and take it back to the nesting site and share it with the other ants. Our Bait Plate Stations would be a fantastic choice for using in or around container plants indoors. You can use two different baits at the same time in these stations, which makes them very versatile.  You can use Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait along with Advance 375A Granules.  This will help increase bait acceptance, which in turn would help you get rid of the ants quickly.

    Is there a safe pesticide that will kill pre-emergent cucumber beetles in the soil?

    We do offer the Monterey Fruit Tree & Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench. It is a concentrated insecticide to be mixed and applied as a soil drench to combat cucumber beetles and other listed insects. You will treat once a year and reapply or harvest 21 days minimum after application.

    Will Monterey Fruit Tree & Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench control green horned tomato worms?
    I may have gone a little light on the product to water ratio given how small the plants are. The most damage is to my purple heirloom. HELP!!! Can I put more on, very diluted?

    The Monterey Fruit Tree & Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench is a great product, however it is not labeled to control Tomato hornworm so we do not think a follow up application will help you in this case. Hornworms are normally going to be controlled with a foliar application, not a soil drench, because of how they feed. You would see better results spraying with a product like Hi Yield Thuricide  which you would use at the rate of 1.5 ounces per 3 gallons of water and it can be applied all the way up to day of  harvest.

    Monterey Fruit Tree & Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench takes time to be translocated throughout plants.  If you have an active infestation of an insect it would be best to go ahead and spray as well.
