Mosquito Barrier is an all natural, super strong, liquid garlic based formula that will keep pests like gnats, mosquitoes, ticks, fleas and ants out of your yard, golf courses, parks and fields. It does not contain chemicals so it is environmentally safe and safe for animals and humans. It will keep pests away for 24 hours - up to a month. It contains garlic that is stronger and more powerful than those found at a grocery store. Mosquitoes are not tolerant to garlic - so one spraying of this product will keep them away. The smell of the garlic juice will become unnoticeable to humans within a few minutes, but to mosquitoes, they can smell it 10,000 times more than humans. Mosquito Barrier can be mixed with canola oil and water to coat standing water to form a thin film of natural oil that will kill the larvae developing in the water.

I LOVE THIS STUFF!
By in Markville, Minnesota on 08/21/2013
I did an awful lot of research before taking a "risk" on mosquito barrier. We have 9 acres and this would've been a pricey mistake to make if it didn't work. I am so tickled to say it worked better than we ever could've hoped. We decided to just do the two acres we keep mowed and it has been so great to enjoy working and playing outdoors again. The gallon size was more Han sufficient and we will definitely buy again when the tie comes.

I mixed the product with water and used a sprayer (also purchased from DMOPC.com). I tried it on my patio. I sprayed the low hanging tree limbs, along the edges of my deck, and my back yard fence. It definitely kept the mosquitoes away. My son and his friends were complaining about mosquitoes before use. I asked later them whether they were still bothered by mosquitoes. Negative. The smell of garlic right after use is pretty pungent, but dissipates in a few hours.

I've used this product in a professional application service. It does work, however, nothing is 0 when it comes to mosquitoes. Some times it works better than others, but it always helps. I wish it was full proof, but I've come to the conclusion that nothing is full proof.

Waiste of time......
By Mike in Dyer, IN on 07/21/2014
But this because the reviews were so positive. Well when I received this. this past weekend I followed the instruction exactly as written. double the amount like it said for heavy infestations. Well I sprayed my entire 1 acre lot that is heavily wooded I spent about 5 hours spraying every single square inch of my property( while being attacked like crazy while spraying) after I was all done. There was no difference from before I started. so I thought OK let it sit for awhile and see how it works, but still no difference. Even the next day was no difference. It was like I never sprayed anything at all. Wasted my whole Saturday morning not to mention the money. Don't buy it is not worth it.
We are sorry that you are unhappy with your purchase of the Mosquito Barrier. This product should be mixed at a rate of 1 gallon per 99 gallons of water, or 1.29 oz. per gallon in smaller application equipment (or up to 1.5 oz./gal. in a canister sprayer). If you have very hard water, it is also recommended to add an equal amount of spreader sticker or surfactant to help the product stay on waxy foliage. In some environments, mosquito populations will be much higher, especially if there are breeding sites (standing water) near the property that are not treated. For an all natural product with more residual control, you could choose EcoVia EC: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/ecovia-ec-p-9660.html We want you to be happy with your service from Do My Own Pest Control. Feel free to call us toll free at 866-581-7378 M-F 9a-5p EST if you would like to discuss this matter further. We appreciate your business!

We have Greyhounds who are sensitive to chemicals, so we bought this to control ticks mainly because we live in a wooded area. Before Mosquito Barrier we couldn't walk to the mailbox without picking up ticks on ourselves. Hubby sprayed all the areas we would be around, and the entire dog area (60'X60') and no more ticks. We did re-apply after a month, or whenever we noticed the ticks returning. I even recommended it to a kennel in Indiana to help control mosquitos (carrier of heartworm infections in dogs) and ticks.

Best I've found
By Mike in Lake Balboa, CA on 05/12/2015
There is no perfect solution for mosquito management, but this is as close as I have found. It appears to make a huge dent in the population without any risk to people or animals. It disappears in a day or two,but I actually like the smell -it's a bit like garlic bread.

Live in Scottsdale AZ. Used product once, 8 ounces per 2 gallon pump sprayer. Sprayed around back yard with pool, spa & Ramada. smells like garlic for a few hours (not bad) then smell gone. Enjoyed patios and yard that eve and for the next few days. Left town six days later still working! That's all I can tell you for now. Sure was a great start!!!!

Mosquito Barrier Works!
By Trish in Moyock, NC on 10/06/2014
This product was recommended by a friend and we decided to try it after the "skeeters" started biting in late August in our area. We did two applications on our yard and noticed an improvement for both people and our dogs too.

A non-pesticide, non-chemical, organic product that works.
By Gbc in Fenton, Michigan on 07/04/2014
This product seems to work as advertised. My wife has a large perennial garden (15X70) that wraps around our house. She was being eaten alive by mosquitoes. The garden was unworkable. Because we have grandchildren, we did not want to use a chemical pesticide. I applied a 4 gallon solution of Mosquito Barrier and for the next week she was pretty much mosquito free. The first day she worked in her garden for several hours and never saw a mosquito. After a week, a second application has renewed the barrier. For an organic, safe product, this stuff works. Downside is that it is fairly short lived and stinks a little which is gone after first day.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! !!! This stuff is the best! I wiil never be without it. Not many insects can tolerate garlic. I have a grassy tree filled yard in arizona....an oasis for my 6 dogs. I spray a couple times a year to keep out mosquitoes, fleas ticks and whatever. Works great. I tell everyone i know that wants to be green concerning yard issues. I think it is more of a repellent witch is fine with me as long as my dogs are protected. Wish i could give more than 5 stars. Buy it you wont be sorry.

Living in upstate NY (where we are having really nasty mosquito issues this year), we were so very hopeful that this product would provide us some 'safe' relief. We weren't expecting all the critters to be eliminated. However, after 3 generous applications, we're disappointed to report unsatisfactory results with this product. We do have pets and we like to sit in the yard as well -- so we're quite disappointed this didn't work.

Safe and effective!
By Erin in Vermont on 07/01/2014
I can go out into my yard again! I am very reactive to mosquito bites and hide myself away in the season. This garlic spray is 100% natural and safe (have kids and pests) and it works very well!! It's a bit hard with a baby and toddler to spray at the proper time for best effectiveness, but well worth the juggling. Must be sprayed mornings or evenings so as not to harm benificials and 24 or 48? Hrs before the next rain (for efficacy). Last spray we did the day before it rained (with 5 yr old juice!) and I would say it was 80% effective. It does smell for about 1.5 days, but is only strong for a couple hours. We have close neighbors and they always say it doesn't bother them when we apologize for the smell. Also, even with close neighbors who don't spray we have a great bite free zone. Cross the gate and I get eaten instantly!

Mosquito Barrier - Garlic Spray
By Paco in Potomac, MD on 06/16/2014
Tried this about a year ago and works pretty well. Our yard has tons of gnats and a good number of mosquitoes and once this is applied, it makes a big difference. You have to reapply after it rains more often that they say, but at least your kids and pets won't glow in the dark from the chemicals of the other products.

AThe product label states to only apply when rain is not expected within 48 hours. The product would wash away if the application has not had a chance to dry before the rain came.

QWhat quantity of Mosquito Barrier is needed per acre?
I would like to use your product on a hay field and spray it with a sprayer rig pulled by a tractor. What quantity of Mosquito Barrier is needed per acre?

QWould the Mosquito Barrier work well with the Solo 451 blower/sprayer?
AYes, the Mosquito Barrier will work great in most any sprayer as long as it is properly diluted with water in the tank. You typically mix about 1.28 ounces of Mosquito Barrier per gallon of water.
07/21/2015 Brian from Pelham, Nh
QAre there any scents you can add to the Mosquito Barrier to reduce the smell?
It is very potent and was wondering if I could add some type of scent to mask the garlic smell.
A There is nothing that can be added to the Mosquito Barrier to reduce the smell as that garlic smell is what repels insects from the area in the first place. The smell of the garlic juice will become unnoticeable to humans within a few minutes and will only be strong during and right after application.

QDoes Mosquito Barrier work on noseeumms
You say mix 1.28 ounces per gallon but on the manufacturer website it says mix 4 ounces per gallon? Thanks.
AThe manufacturer of Mosquito Barrier has updated their label. According to the new label, you will use 8 teaspoons per gallon of water if the infestation is light. If the infestation is heavy, you will use 16 teaspoons per gallon of water.

QWill spraying Mosquito Barrier on the brick walls keep mosquitoes away?
Mosquitos gather at alcove of front door, out of breeze.
AMosquito Barrier will keep the mosquitoes away for a few days but keep in mind that spraying Mosquito Barrier on porous surfaces such as brick or concrete will only provide a residual for a few days so more frequent applications may be required.

QWhich is better mosquito barrier or Talstar for Mosquitoes in yard
ATalstar P is our most popular product for killing mosquitoes with a residual of up to 30 days outside and is not going to be much of a repellent. It is labeled for over 75 differents pests as well so will kill more than just mosquitoes. Mosquito Barrier is fast becoming the most popular for a repellent, but is only going to kill the adults that you make contact with while applying the product but is said to repel for 24 hours - 30 days. The choice is really in what you are looking for a in a product, a repellent or a product that will kill over time.
05/26/2014 Shauna from Manvel, Nd
QIf this lasts up to 1 month, what happens (meaning how effective is it) after i mow my yard?
If I apply the spray, wait 48 hours and mow my yard, will it still work?
AMowing your yard should not affect your application of Mosquito Barrier as the Mosquito Barrier should be applied to the underside of leaves of bushes, shrubs, ornamentals, and low lying tree branches, not necessarily to the turf itself. The underside of the leaves is where mosquitos tend to land and rest during the day.
02/18/2014 Josh from Miami, Fl
QCan I use this product in the same sprayer that I use Phantom?
I have heard that mixing certain types of product in the same sprayer may negate one or the other. Something about repellents vs non-repellents.
AIt is always best to use separate sprayers for different insectices and/or repellants. However, if that is not an option then you can perform a "triple rinse". A triple rinse involves filling up your sprayer tank with clean water and spraying the entire contents of the sprayer out and repeating this process 2 additonal times. This is to ensure that the lines and tank are cleaned out completely as to prevent cross contamination.
09/06/2013 Ron from Oklahoma City Oklahoma
QDoes rain wash the Mosquito Barrier away?
AAccording to the Mosquito Barrier's product label instructions, you should apply the product when you are not expecting any rain within 48 hours following the application. It will keep pests away for 24 hours - up to a month.
