Product Documents
Mother Earth Granular Scatter Bait offers long-lasting, broad-spectrum control for preventative and curative treatments. The active ingredient boric acid contained in MotherEarth Granular Scatter Bait, is mined directly from the earth and combined with a granular bait matrix consisting of a complex blend of attractants for superior acceptance. This matrix also protects the active ingredient so that it is there when needed. Boric acid has a long history of use for pest control. Since this active ingredient targets the insect's metabolism, pests can't develop resistance, making it particularly well suited for stubborn ants, cockroaches, crickets and silverfish and other occasional invaders.
How do I use MotherEarth Granular Scatter Bait?
Product may be applied into cracks and crevices with a bellows hand duster at a rate of 2-6 puffs per foot.
For perimeter treatments: spread bait with a spreader at a rate of 4-6oz/100 ft. in a band at least 2 ft. wide around foundations, patios, driveways, sidewalks, entrances, and other areas where insects are present.

QMy dog licked MotherEarth granular scatter bait off the patio, will this harm her?
MotherEarth Granular was spread around my house yesterday and this morning. I noticed my dog licking it off the patio where some had fallen. I interrupted her after a short period of time.
AThe small amount of Mother Earth Scatter Bait your dog may have licked up should have no effect. To be safe however, we do recommend that you call your veterinarian for advice. You can find a copy of the product label and the MSDS on our site, information your veterinarian will require.

QIs MotherEarth Scatter Bait safe to use in a home with children?
I have two small children (a toddler and infant) and am concerned about their health and safety.
AYes. Unless other wise noted, the pesticides on our website are safe to use in a home with children. As with any product, it is important to follow the label instructions and precautions to ensure safety. MotherEarth Granular Scatter Bait is part of our natural products catergory and contains the active ingredient boric acid, which is known to have a very low mammalian (humans, most pets) toxicity.
May 4, 2010Randy asked:
QThe area around my house has become infested with Alleghany Mound ants. Nothing I do seems to work.
MotherEarth Granular was recommended. Will it attract and kill these ants? Will they carry it back to their nest? Their mounds are very difficult to find, so I need to be able to cover a large area.
AWe recommend doing a direct application of a residual insecticide such as Tengard SFR to the mound. Using a shovel, scrape away the top of the mound and pour one gallon of the diluted Tengard into the mound. Unfortunately we cannot find one bait that has been labeled for Alleghany Mound ants.
