Mouse repellent can help you keep mice out of unwanted areas and help you control mouse infestations in homes, vehicles, sheds, storage areas, and more. Most mouse repellents are made from all natural ingredients, so you can keep your family, pets and the environment safe while using powerful, professional repellent products. We carry a variety of mouse repellent formulas to help you be successful in your mouse control efforts.

How Mouse Repellents Work

So what repels mice? Mouse repellents use active ingredients like white pepper and botanical oils to cause irritation and confusion in mice. The products are not harmful, but cause unpleasant sensations through touch, smell, or taste, and ideally the mice will avoid the treated areas. We carry many natural mouse repellent products that use botanically derived or naturally derived ingredients that make them safe to use around pets and children.

How To Repel Mice

Mouse repellents are not difficult to use, but there are steps you can take to make using the mice repellent product successfully. The main use of repellents is to flush the mice out of the non-living areas they harbor in. Repellents help to drive mice into baited areas or mousetraps, or to encourage mice to vacate the building all together. Repellents help to change the target animal’s behavior, whether that is avoiding damage or keeping them out of your car or storage, and we can help you learn how to keep mice away by following these tips:

  • Begin using repellents as soon as you notice a problem. Ideally, you should use repellent products preemptively to avoid any damage or mouse problems, but the sooner the better.
  • Follow all instructions on the mice repellent label. Even if the product is all natural or organic, there may still be safety precautions to take when applying the mouse repellent.
  • Reapply or replace the mouse repellents as often as the instruction label allows, and make sure to use the maximum amount as well. The repellent product needs to remain fresh and potent in order to be as effective as possible.
  • Don’t limit yourself when using these mouse deterrent products; many can be applied or placed nearly anywhere, including outbuildings, sheds, cars, under decks or patios, storage areas, attics, barns, and anywhere mice could be come a potential problem.
  • Some products can also be used on certain items to avoid damage from rodents, like on cables, electrical wires, etc.
  • Eventually the mice will probably become used to the repellent and understand that the repellent product will not actually harm them, and go about their business. Switching the type of repellent you use on a regular basis can also help prolong the use of repellents.
  • Remember that repellents alone will not completely get rid of your mice problem. Using other mouse control tactics, like exclusion, and products, such as traps, in conjunction with repellents, can help you on your way to mouse control success.
