My Demon WP sprayed on and dried on a muddy brown color - Does this means it has expired?

I will admit I should have stopped spraying when I saw the color it was coming out as but every description I have ever read about it said that it left behind a white film. As my walls are white I did not see that as a huge problem. However spraying the baseboards and crown moulding where I have seen them travel up high left dirty looking streaks running down my walls. Absolutely disgusting. My product was stamped with an 11/2012 label. Is it possible it was expired? Is that the reason for such an ugly application?

Answer:

We apologize you are having an issue with the Demon WP. We have never had anyone complain that it came out as a muddy color. The powder is usually a darker off white color and when mixed with water the solution is usually an off white creamy color. With many products the colors can vary a bit depending on the source of the raw materials and that may be the case with this product as well. We recommend contacting the manufacturer directly so that they can troubleshoot with you and see what may have happened. They may ask you some questions about the numbers on the envelope so they can see if there was a problem with a certain batch. You can reach Syngenta by calling 866-796-4368. The 11/2012 is the date the product was released for sale, not the expiration date.
