Anthony from Brenham, Texas writes

My tomato plants develop yellowing leaves that progress up the plant; what can be done to prevent this?

South central Texas; raised bed home garden plot.

Answer:

First, you  would need to identify the problem itself. The yellowing of the leaves on your tomato plants could be due to a number of variables; sunlight, watering habits, standing water on the leaves, insects, or disease. We would recommend that you contact your Local Cooperative Extension Office and speak to the Master Gardener on staff so that they may help identify the problem and then we can get you the recommended products and treatment method best suited for your needs.
