    Q
How long can a trap be stored in a fridge? How do they work (details)?
    A
There would be no reason to store these traps in your fridge. The low-maintenance Natural Catch Plus Fruit Fly traps are non-toxic and pesticide free, containing only a vinegar based all natural attractant to lure fruit flies to their doom. Once the flies enter the trap, they cannot escape and they drown. Natural Catch Plus Fruit Fly Traps are ready to use and can be placed right in the center of your fruit bowl. Reduces fruit fly populations 70 to 80 percent or more. Provides control for 30 days.

    Q
I need to control fruit flies in a restaurant, what would be the best product to use?
    A
The main goal with fruit flies is to find the breeding site.  In restaurants, fruit flies almost always breed from the syrup and other food and drink that falls behind the bar areas and where the soda machines and soda guns are.  We carry traps to catch the adult flies that are flying around, the best seller being our Natural Catch Plus Fruit Fly Traps.  As far as the source and breeding sites, you should wash all of the areas underneath the bar and soda areas to clean any syrup or other sticky areas and places where food could have failed behind or under machines  It is also a good idea to apply a product like Invade Hot Shot which is a foam that will eat away any organic matter that fruit flies breed in.

    Q
I have these bugs that look like a fruit fly, but I never keep fruit on my counter.
I was told that they could come from my sink. I started using ammonia to clean the disposal, but they didn't go away. What should I do to get rid of them? They are such a bother constantly flying in my face.
    A

The first thing we recommend you do is get a positive identification on the insect you are trying to eliminate. Many of the tiny flying insects get misidentified by home or business owners which leads to ineffective treatment programs. You can contact your local cooperative extension office and request to speak to the entomologist on staff. The entomologist will instruct you on how to obtain a sample of the insect and send it to them. If, as you thought it is indeed fruit flies then you MUST find the source of the infestation. Look under stoves, refrigerators, counters and the like for spilled fruit juices or fruits.  Performing a thorough sanitation should help eliminate the source of the infestation.

Please check out our Fruit Fly Control Page. One of the most effective means of fruit fly control used from consumers to commercial are Natural Catch Plus Fruit Fly Trap.
