A great general insecticide that will be safe for your lawn and surrounding ornamentals would be Talstar P. This a non-staining, clear drying, odorless insecticide that you will mix with water and use as a spray where you are having pest in your lawn. You mix 1 ounce with 1 gallon of water and keep pets and children out of the treated area until the product has dried. Once dry it is completely safe.
