After trying everything and I mean everything, the only thing that got rid of them completely was the Nuvan Pro Strips. They saved me and my sanity. They truly are a life saver. I wish I would have tried them before everything else. I would have gotten rid of those miserable creatures quicker and saved some money in the process.

Nuvan ProStrips Used for Bedbugs
By Martha on October 23, 2010
Verified Purchase
My son spent a month in New York city, & brought bed bugs to his home in Miami. He had many items that could not be washed, heated, frozen, sprayed with insecticide, or covered with powder. The Nuvan ProStrips were great for those items. He put items in the 3ml contractor trash bags as recommended. He will continue to use the strips after travels to avoid re-infestation. We had been joking about bed bugs after reading about them, but believe me, they are nothing to joke about.

Nuvan Prostrips kills bedbugs!!!
By Brad on December 11, 2010
Verified Purchase
Worked as advertised. I put some in my small bathroom upstairs which we didnt use and in less than a week I saw five dead bedbugs. The bathroom isnt much bigger than a closet and I sealed the bottom of the door to keep the vapor in. I wish the EPA hadn't banned the foggers that used the same chemical in the 1990's. It would be awesome to fog your house with this stuff. The vapors are deadly to the bedbugs and they can't detect it. It would save people time, trauma and treasure if the EPA would just let us use the stuff that works!!! Brad

The Nuvan Prostrips are very effective and easy to use. The only caution is that you can't have them in a room that people are using.

I can't praise these strips nearly enough to convey how happy I am with your product!!! I have tried for years to rid my basement of what I called sewer bugs. I had quite a few exterminators tell different solutions to the problem. Nothing worked! Then last summer a worker for Ehrlich told me about a product that worked for another customer who had a similar problem. That product was Nuvan Pest Strips. I've been using it ever since. The strips last for about four months. When I start to see the bugs again, I put down new strips and I am "bug-free" for another four months. THANKS! THANKS! THANKS!

BUG CONTROL
By Mike on September 23, 2012Does a good job killing flying insects. Bonus, takes of moths in closets & kills spiders in area near ProStrips. I use in garage, closets, basement areas, attic, & near some upper windows. Seems to work for 4 to 5 months. These are smaller & less expensive then other Strips, but seem to be just as effective. They also not as obtrusive looking in areas where they are visible.

Nuvan ProStrips For Treating Car Infestation
By Amanda on August 13, 2012I've had an on going problem with either bird mites or bed bugs in my automobile. Vacuuming and cleaning the inside did not help, due to them getting inside the steering column and air vents (and other tight places.) I also sprayed store bought bed bug and flea spray on the carpet to no avail. They are inside the trunk as well. I purchased the Nuvan Prostrips and left one inside the car (hung from the steering column and the other inside the trunk (hung from the inside top). I left them both there for one week while I went on a short vacation. The problem seems to have gotten 90% better. I'm going to do another treatment in 2 weeks to see if I can eliminate them completely. I park my car outside on a tree lined street and live very close to a bird sanctuary, so there are lots of birds. One thing I would recommend to anyone having the same problem, be sure to always drive your car with the windows up and the sunroof closed with the air conditioning on interior recirculate. The mites/bugs look like little white specks, but they do bite and are very difficult to get rid of...thank heaven for these Nuvan Prostrips! A local Northeren Virginia Pest Control company charges $600 to treat a vehicle (with no guarantees). I was so desperate to get rid of these things, I almost went that route. I'm so glad a decided to try these ProStrips first. I would highly recommend them. * I'm also going to start treating my suitcase and tote bag with the ProStrips after traveling:)

Bed Bugs
By Ted on August 12, 2012While this product comes with all kind of promises and even exciting warnings of it's potency all it seemed to have accomplished is making the little bastards mad and bite even more. I live alone and I live clean , I followed all the instructions given to the T and still all that seemed to happen was they got worse.

No more moths
By Richard on July 5, 2012I used these strips in conjunction with the Diamond traps. The traps caught the flying moths; however, I have not seen many moths flying once I put the strips in the pantry. I feel, that the strips have killed all of the moths hatching in the pantry thus there are none to catch in the trap. I was killing at least ten moths an evening; now there are none.

Relief At Last
By Maureen on June 26, 2012I can not tell you how happy I am to have discovered Nuvan Pro Strips! I have tried for years to find a product to rid my basement of drain flies (fruit flies), but to no avail. I have contacted pest control "experts" but no one gave me advice that worked. Finally, last year when I was having my annual termite warranty done, this Ehrlich serviceman gave me some pest strips to try, practically guaranteeing me they would eliminate the problem. To say I was sceptical is putting it mildly!!! However, within one week I did not see any of the dreaded pests. He provided me with some extras, and when they were gone, I went on the internet to see if I could order some more. I cannot thank you sufficiently enough for your wonderful product! As much as I love summer, I hated to see the return of these dreaded bugs. You have been a "lifesaver"!!!

FLY & SPIDER CONTROL
By Mike on April 1, 2012Does a good job on flying insects as well as spiders in the general area of the ProStrip. I hang in garage, shop & several areas of the home. Also helps with moth control in closets instead of the strong aroma of Moth Balls.

Bed Bugs
By Andrew on March 22, 2012I used these on a home where we knew that the furniture was infected and closed off/tapped and sealed one room with said furniture. The label says something like 72 hours. We kept them secluded for TWO WEEKS, and after we cleared the room, we had another outbreak not two days later and nymphs/adults and eggs were found in places they had not been previous to the inspection.

July 27, 2011 Lisa asked:
QIf I use one Nuvan strip in an 10 by 7 storage space, will the other strips in the package stay good?
Or will they all offgas continually (not good since where will I be able to store the remaining strips?) and be less effective as time goes by? Is there a protective packaging that will keep the gas inactive until I open it?
AThe Nuvan ProStrips come in a thick foil zipper pouch that will keep the strips sealed and inactive until you are ready to use them.
July 16, 2011 D. asked:
QCan I place Nuvan strips in a plastic bag with clothing, then wash and wear clothing?
I rent my apartment and do not own my own washing machine or dryer. I am afraid to wear most of my clothing because of a bedbug infestation in my bedroom. I read about the application where household item and stuffed animals can be bagged for 2-4 weeks. I read under the first aid measure instructions for skin irritants that exposed clothing should be washed before reuse. Given the a fore mentioned information, I was wondering if I can bag the items with the strips then wash the items?
AYou can bag clothes with a nuvan strip and then wear them once washed, that is not a problem. However, it is worth mentioning that even without placing your clothes in a bag with a nuvan stip for 2 to 4 weeks, anything that will go in a dryer for about 15 minutes on even low heat will kill all stages of bed bugs instantly. So if you are going to wash them anyways and you didn't want to wait for 2 weeks before wearing something, you could wash and dry it and be assured there were no bed bugs when it came out of the dryer.
August 24, 2010 Cindy asked:
QI ordered the bed bug kit. What is the best way to treat books and shoes for bed bugs?
AThere are a couple of different ways to treat books and shoes. Heat treatments work quite well. Shoes and some books can be placed on the rack in your dryer for about an hour or so on high heat. This will kill the bedbugs and their eggs. You can also place books and shoes in large trash bags or rubber tubs that have a top with Nuvan Prostrips. Nuvan Prostrips utilize controlled release technology to slowly diffuse a deep penetrating vapor in enclosed spaces. The clean, odorless vapor is evenly distributed throughout the enclosed treatment area, killing visible and hidden insects on contact and preventing new insect infestations
June 4, 2011 Ashley asked:
QWhere can the Nuvan Prostrips can be used?
Can it be used in bedrooms? How does it work? If it is put in the bathroom would it kill any bed bugs that are in other parts of the apt or just the bathroom?
ANuvan Prostrips utilize controlled release technology to slowly diffuse a deep penetrating vapor in enclosed spaces for up to 4 months. The clean, odorless vapor is evenly distributed throughout the enclosed treatment area, killing visible and hidden insects on contact and preventing new insect infestations. Nuvan Prostrips can only be used in small enclosed areas such as closets (no air vents can be present), cupboards, boxes, bags or small storage areas. Nuvan Prostrips would not be appropriate for treating a bathroom. You would need to use bedbug sprays and dusts to properly treat a bathroom that may be infested. Please refer to our Bed Bug Kits for the appropriate products to treat a bedbug infestation.

Bedbugged from Fort Worth, Tx asked:
QIf you are treating a closet or cupboard should you avoid opening it?
I'd like to treat a storage closet, my walk in, and a small coat size closet. Should I seal them up and avoid opening for a length of time? I can remove enough to survive until it is safe. I want to treat for long enough to be effective.
AYou want to allow the vapors in an enclosed area to build up to a level that will be lethal to the insects that your are trying to eliminate. Opening and closing the doors to these enclosed spaces may result in poor efficacy. Depending on the insect you are trying to eliminate and the amount of things in the space you will most likely need to keep the Nuvan strips in place for about 2-4 weeks. It is best to make sure things are loosely packed into the areas to insure that the vapors can adequately circulate through the items that need to be treated.

Jean from Everett, Ma asked:
QNuvan for treating a bed bug infested laptop
I have my laptop in a XXL ziplock bag with a nuvan strip inside, that bag is inside a 2nd ziplock bag, placed in a closed Rubbermaid tote in a foyer closet that will not be opened, is this okay? Treating for bed bugs here.
AThe application you have described sounds fine. You should plan on leaving your laptop with the strip for 3-4 weeks for the best results.

Pamela from Chicago, Il asked:
QCan you wear clothing (items that cannot be washed or dryed) after they have been treated with Nuvan ProStrips
I want to put the Nuvan ProStrips in my closets where my clothing is but most of the items cannot be washed or dryed in a clothes dryer. Can you wear the clothing after it has been treated without dry cleaning them since they cannot be washed. Is it safe to wear the clothes without washing, drying or dry cleaning them first?
AYou do not have to wash clothing or other items that have been in a bag or bin with Nuvan strips. You should air the clothing out a for a few days prior to wearing it. You should also note that most dry cleaners agree that even though dry clean only clothing cannot be washed it can go through the dryer (do not wet clothing first) on med high heat to kill the bedbugs and bedbug eggs without harming the clothing.

Mj118 from Chicago, Il asked:
QCan I reuse the same Nuvan Prostrip?
I plan to use Nuvan Prostrips to treat items that can't be laundered or washed easily. I know that the strips last for up to 4 months, and I know that to treat items, they should be exposed to the strips in a sealed 2 mil bag or duct-taped plastic container for 2-4 weeks. I would like to know if, after the 2-4 weeks, I can put new items to be treated in the same bag or container with the same strip (using it a 2nd and 3rd time, etc.) until 4 months has passed. Thank you.
AYou can alternate the objects in the closed bag or bin and keep using the same strip for up to 4 months.
April 14, 2012 Erin asked:
QWould it be safe to put a nuvan strip inside of a rubbermaid storage container (the 50 gal), tape the seams of the container, and then place it inside of our bedroom closet?
We keep the door to the closet closed since our clothes aren't in there anymore. Should we tape around the closet door as well as the tote, or just move the container to the basement? We have a pet that lives full time in our room, and I want to be sure that nothing we do to get rid ourselves of these pests will harm her.
AYou can indeed safely use the Nuvan strips in the rubbermaid container the way you described without any issues for your pet or yourself.
February 8, 2012 Kaleb asked:
QWhat else can I use to get rid of fruit or phorid flies?
im using drain gels, clean air III, natural fruit fly traps, just trying to see what else i can be doing.
AThe first thing we recommend you do is get a positive identification on the insect you are trying to eliminate. Many of the tiny flying insects get misidentified by home or business owners which leads to ineffective treatment programs. You can contact your local cooperative extension office and request to speak to the entomologist on staff. The entomologist will instruct you on how to obtain a sample of the insect and send it to them. If, as you thought it is indeed fruit flies then you MUST find the source of the infestation. Look under stoves, refrigerators, counters and the like for spilled fruit juices or fruits. In commercial kitchens you should clean soda lines and drip pans in and under equipment. Performing a thorough sanitation should help eliminate the source of the infestation. Even the best products on the market cannot overcome poor sanitation. The products you purchased will help get rid of the flying adults but without finding the source of infestation you will continue to see new adults everyday. Also, the use of fly lights in commercial kitchens should help with most fly infestations.

Tanya from Las Cruces Nm asked:
QHow many strips and for how long can I use for treatment of my car: it Volkswagen Golf TDI 2011.
Should I use the tape to cover the doors or any other measure to successfully treat the bedbugs in my car?
AYou will need to determine how many cubic feet of space you need to treat and you will use 1 strip for every 100 cubic feet of space. The strips will need to stay sealed in the area for at least 3-4 weeks to be effective. You should make sure that the area is not tightly packed so that the vapor can move around and contact all of the space. We do not recommend that you use the Nuvan Strips as your sole protection against bedbugs. You should also use a product such as Bedlam or Sterifab to treat all of the cracks and crevices where the vapor may not be able to penetrate. For more information on the Nuvan strips you should contact the manufacturer directly at 888-462-6822.

Alex from Redmond Wa asked:
QIs it OK to use Nuvan Prostrips in a Kitchen pantry?
I have a nasty pantry moths infestation to control and they seem to be everywhere in the cabinets storing dry food. All salvaged food is in airtight containers now, but there are larvae in many appliances and crevices of the furniture: can I use the Nuvan Prostrips for this?
ANuvan ProStrips can be placed in a closet, however the closet would have to remain closed for at least 2 weeks. If you will be opening the closet then it will not work because the vapor will constantly escape. We would recommend using our pantry pest kit which has a crack and crevice aerosol tool to get around shelving and baseboards where the larvae are hiding, and it also has pheromone traps for the adults that are flying around.
December 17, 2011 Kathy asked:
QCan I use Nuvan ProStrips in the hall closet with our coats in it?
Is it safe to put a Nuvan Prostrip in the closet by the front door where we hang our winter coats? It will be opened at least 4 times a day and how about the vapor on the coats and backpacks, is it harmful?
ANuvan ProStrips can be placed in a closet, however the closet would have to remain closed for at least 2 weeks. If you will be opening the closet then it will not work because the vapor will constantly escape. You would be better off placing the items in your closet you would like to treat in a plastic container or bag and placing the strip inside also, and not open them for 2 weeks.

Kathy from Canada asked:
QSo if the room is 13 by 13 by 8 feet high how many Nuvan Strips do I need?
If I do not seal the bins, just hang a Nuvan strip above them, will I still eliminate bedbugs?
AYou could only treat a large room like that if it was in the basement or a storage room. It is not safe to treat a room in a house where people would be opening the door and be inside the room. This is not the intended use for Nuvan Prostrips. If this room is a storage area, you must make sure there is no ventilation in the room or windows and doors that are not sealed properly. The room must be air tight and you must leave the room enclosed for 2 weeks without opening it. You should evenly distribute the items as much as possible. A 13 x 13 x 8 room is 1352 cubic feet. The strips treat 100 to 200 cubic feet, so you would need at least 7 strips, but you will probably get better results if you use about 10 strips. The strips should be arranged so they cover the room evenly.
December 16, 2011
Kathy from Canada asked:
QIf I do not seal the bins, just hang a Nuvan strip above them, will I still eliminate bedbugs?
I have a large room in the basement that is 1300 square feet with no vents or windows. Can I place my stuff in bins with the lids off and with 1 strip hanging from the ceiling over the bins? Will that kill all the bed bugs?
AWe recommend sealing the items you want into the smaller bins with a Nuvan Prostrip so that the vapors from the strip can circulate around the items in a strong enough concentration to kill bedbugs. Hanging one strip in a room with 1300 sq ft will not work because it is too much space for one strip. If you want to use the Nuvan strips to treat items in the entire sealed basement you will need to calculate how many cubic feet you have and use one strip per 100 cubic feet. Be sure to make sure there is plenty of space between each item so the vapor can circulate properly. Please read and follow the directions on the Nuvan Prostrips product label for best results. We do not recommend using Nuvan Prostrips as the sole product to eliminate bedbugs. Please take a few moments to check out our bedbug kits which come with all of the other products you may need to help eliminate this pest.
