NyGuard has been an essential for us for a little over a year now. Our two cats have seizure disorders and we have to be extremely careful what spot-on treatment we use as well as what is used to treat our home for fleas. Using "all natural" treatments didn't work effectively enough in our situation. We've used this product three times now, taking care to treat as specified and at eight month intervals. The cats have had no adverse reactions and this IGR has been an effective part of our flea control.

Excellent Customer Service
By Bob in Jacksonville, FL on 12/04/2012
Not that many times in today's world I can honestly say "Excellent Customer Service" but DoMyOwnPestControl qualifies. Placed my order and two days later received a phone call that they did not have enough product in stock to complete my order BUT offered me three options, ship when all were in stock, cancel order or ship partial and then ship remainder when it arrived in about a week. Opted for partial ship and received the product in 2 days and then the remainder about 5 days later. Just Outstanding service.

I sprayed down my entire place after realizing that my dog was itching not dfrom dry skin; but from fleas. I found out that we had a flea infestation (that had started before we left the house for 10 days). I vacuumed throughout and followed the instructions. After a week or so, I found that there were still live fleas coming from one wool carpet that my dog sleeps on. I would walk around with tall white socks on and sure enough, the little b*ggers would catch a ride. There should not have been new emerging fleas and yet I kept on finding them. Don't get me wrong; I also found lots and lots of dead fleas and the quantity was greatly reduced. It has not, however, killed all emerging fleas as it suggests it can. I will respray, to be sure. I have spent the summer in between a cottage in Canada and my house in New England and both managed to get infected before I was aware, so it has been a nasty summer! I sprayed down the truck and it is 100% okay now. I have used both the Precor 2000 as well as Nyguard products in both locations.

Used Nygard, and Temprid to get rid of a carpet nettle infestation treated 3 times. Really relied on the customer service staff to help beat a really difficult infestation. Plus I have an allergic dermatitis if the carpet beetles crawl on me and leave hairs.. Yuck But finally 3 months later, a huge problem in my home I'm able to sleep at night. The products here are better than the professionals.

Very easy to use. I got so many chemicals on top of chemicals its hard to say. Used it with onslaught as broadband on carpet. Dried quickly. Carpet very gummy and fleas are really vicious now so its doing something. I can't see them cept a few in dawn trap. Just babies. Haven't seen adults in my traps for months. Its forcing them on my cats more which of course I never see even in tub but I know they r scratching at something. My feet are dirty from walking on carpet. Will shampoo carpets eventually as Vac motor is giving out due to DE. I hope this is the working combo with Revolution on cats.

I had a bad infestation of fleas in my apartment and don't use topical spot on chemicals on my cat. After trying many things including vacuuming twice a day, I used Nyguard because after reading the MSDS it seemed safe for humans and pets. I had to wait a few months to see results because of the fleas life cycle. It broke the infestation and I recommended it to a friend.

doesnt really work
By Robin in Marble n.c. on 12/20/2014
after using on my floors and outside my house ,i still have fleas on my dog and cat after cold winter weather killed out door flea populations
For complete flea control, we recommend using an adulticide in conjunction with an Insect Growth Regulator such as NyGuard. The NyGuard will interrupt the breeding process, but without using an insecticide to knock down existing adults, complete control will take a lot longer. A very popular adulticide to use inside for fleas is Conquer, which you can dilute and apply at the same as your IGR: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/conquer-liquid-insecticide-p-70.html. We also want to be sure you are using a product on the pets that is approved for this use. You can browse our pet flea control products here: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/pet-flea-control-c-24_384.html

Had I discovered NyGuard EZ1 earlier in this record flea season, we could have perhaps avoided the infestation in the house. The product mixed easily and was applied with even more ease. It was very low odor, dried quickly and did the trick!

QIs NyGuard EZ1 better than Gentrol IGR for a carpet beetle infestation?
Is NyGuard EZ1 the same as NyGuard IGR? Just in a smaller size? Does it work better than Gentrol IGR for carpet beetles? Thanks.
ANyguard EZ 1 is the same product as Nyguard IGR just in a smaller 1 oz container. Both Gentrol IGR and Nyguard IGR are labeled for carpet beetles and both products will provide similar results. Be sure to thoroughly vacuum all carpeting to help speed up the elimination process. It will also be necessary for you to find and eliminate the source of the carpet beetle infestation for best results.

QIs Nyguard EZ1 effective for a mite infestation in my car?
I need to know if this product will be effective and how to use it. Also, how long will the product take before it take care of the problem?
ANyguard EZ1 is not labeled for mites and we do not think it would work for your needs. Nyguard EZ1 is an insect growth regulator and when applied according to the product label it can help control the reproductive cycle of insects such as cockroaches, fleas, mosquitoes, ants and other listed pests. Many species of mites can be very hard to get rid of and treatments can takes several months but our customers have reported very positive results when using a product called Sterifab in conjunction with regular vacuuming.

QHow to use Talstar P and NyGuard IGR for general pest control including mosquitoes.
Hi. I want to mix Talstar and NyGuard for general pest control including mosquitos. I saw on this site that you recommend 3ml to a 1 gal Talstar (1oz) solution for fleas. But another website I visited said 4-8ml of NyGuard per gallon Talstar (1oz) solution for mosquitos. I'm trying to control a broad range, especially spiders and mosquitos. Which ratio should I use?
A Per the Nyguard IGR product label instructions you can use varying rates. You use anywhere between 4 ml - 12 ml per gal and then apply over 1000 - 1500 sqft. Talstar is mixed at 1 oz/gal and that generally covers 1000 sqft so when mixing with the NyGuard IGR you would want to use 3 ml up to 8 ml with that 1 gallon of Talstar. In general your first application should use the higher rates.

QWill Nyguard EZ1 IGR Concentrate treat for ticks?
I was told that this IGR could be added to Bifen IT for use on ridding my home of brown dog ticks. Unless I missed it on the label, I read nothing with regard to brown dog ticks. If this IGR is not for these ticks, which one is?
A NyGuard EZ 1 concentrate does not carry ticks on the product label. However, if you need to treat for ticks indoors, then you can use NyGuard Plus, a ready-to-use product that is labeled for ticks in general, which would include brown dog ticks. For a concentrate that is labeled for ticks, you could use Archer IGR. We apologize for any confusion.

AYou are correct and we apologize if you were given the wrong information. NyGuard EZ1 is not labeled to treat for bedbugs. QIs Nyguard effective to use with Fenvastar to eliminate bedbugs?
AWhile NyGuard can be safely used with Fenvastar and other insecticides, NyGuard is not labeled for reproductive control of bed bugs. The only IGR on the market that is labeled for and shown success for bedbugs is Gentrol IGR.
QCan Nyguard be mixed with other IGRs?
ANyguard can be mixed with any insecticide for application; however, we would not recommend mixing it with another IGR. There really would be no need to do so.
