Outdoor Ant Control Kit

The Outdoor Ant Control Kit is an essential part of any ant control program around a home, business, or other type of structure that has ant activity around it. Most ant colonies nest outside and then try to enter homes and businesses trying to find food and moisture. The Antopia Ant Bait Stations provide an easy access point to place both food and moisture outside for the ants to feed on, so they do not need to try to enter your home or business. The Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait is a very enticing food and moisture source for any type of ant. When combined with the effective design of the Antopia Ant Bait Station which uses Floating Feeding Technology, it provides an easily accessible feeding site to accommodate multiple colonies of ants around your home or business.

Typically 1 station is needed per side of a home or business. Normal size homes should purchase the 4 station kit. Large size homes and businesses should purchase 8 liquid ant stations with 4 liquid ant bait bottles.

Outdoor Ant Control Kit is made up of these products:

In Agricultural applications, large areas are treated with Antopia Bait Stations, using liquid ant bait, without having to spread pesticides on crops and and the surrounding environment. If you have ants, together with aphids, mealy bugs, scale, psyllids or other homoptera, it is most important to understand how these ants farm and protect crop-damaging insects for their honeydew.

In Home, Office & Garden applications, Antopia Bait Stations will get rid of ants and other insects from around your home and yard, and provide an on-going barrier against re-infestation. This is accomplished without spraying toxic chemicals that are harmful to our health and all other living organisms.

2 of 5 Stars  Did not control ants
By Gary on May 31, 2011

Live in an area of California that gets hot and has lots of Argentine ants. Just to be sure this is what we were dealing with, sent some in to an expert who told us this is for sure the ant type we had. Thought this kit would be the ideal product so the money was spent. The ants would not go to the bait station no matter what was tried. Contact was made to a representative who told me to wash the base of the stations then coat them with some of the bait in the hopes that doing this would attract the ants to the bait. Still no ants came to dinner. The other problem we had was due to the heat, even though the stations were placed in the shade, the bait would dry turning into a crystal like material that had to be washed out. Going through both bottles of bait with no luck, tried the sugar, water and boric acid. The stations then attracted ants, so the stations are OK, the bait not so much so. Two stars just because the stations seem to be a good idea.

    5 of 5 Stars  ants

The kit works great. 10 minutes after setting the first pod down it was cover in ants. A couple days later only small activity was seen. Now I think I am removing my neighbors ants also. I would recommend this product to anyone with ants. Initial investment was 3 months exterminator fees. Now after 20 days only one pod is getting action from ants.

  • 2 of 5 Stars  Skip on the station, go with the bait

I purchased the Outdoor Ant Control Kit for my Southern California home after reading the reviews for the older "KM Ant Pro Bait Station" combo which was highly recommended. I missed the window on picking up the old model and went instead with the new R2 design. The Argentine ants around our house have no interest in the new R2 bait station. While it’s durable and is easy to check, the ants seem to stay away from it even when inserted directly next to their trails. I thought the larger station size would be helpful, but now think a smaller station that can more easily be placed in the ground would be a better choice for our suburban home. I would not recommend this station. I tried the bait in a homemade cup/cover which worked well (they love the bait) but the ants have avoided the stations completely.

  • 1 of 5 Stars  Not very happy with these

Bought this control kit to supplement 2 KM Ant Pro stations. I had 2 major trails of ants going from the mulch beds on either side of the house, up the exterior walls and into the soffit leading to my attic. I placed 2 of these with full strength Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait in the middle of both trails. In both cases the ants integrated them into their trails almost immediately - crawling right over them (in fact, ALL over them). But I've yet to see any indication that they go INTO the stations and take the bait. It's been almost 2 weeks. The bait in the stations seems to be at the same level as when I placed them. And there has been no reduction in the number or activity of the ants. This is in great contrast to the 2 trails that I put Ant Pro stations on. It was obvious that ants were entering those stations almost immediately and the trails were gone in a bit more than a week. I think it has to do with the fact that the ants can get into the Ant Pro from any direction and there's only a little tiny tube the ants must enter on these. That's my best guess anyway. So I think I'm a thumbs down on these. Not sure what I'll do with them. I got some of the "Ant No More" stations to try so that I can use granular bait in them also. We'll see how that goes.

It has been two weeks since I put these out and they are not being used at all. I am not impressed given the high cost.

August 9, 2011Joan from Boise, Id asked:

QWill the Gourmet Ant Bait work on pharoah or thief ants?
I'm not sure which I have, but I *think* they are thief ants. Will this product work for either?

AGourmet liquid ant bait will work for any species of ant that is accepting sweetor carbohydrate baits. Ants nutritional needs change frequently. This means that one day they may only forage for proteins, like Advance 375A ant bait granules and another day they may forage for carbohydrates like the Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait. We recommend using both a protein (granules) and a carbohydrate (liquid, gel) to ensure bait acceptance.

April 20, 2012Tim from Sacramento, California asked:

QDo some flowering trees or bushes need ants to help them pollinate?
I have a Red Oak that is about to bud, and usually the new leaves get very sticky and attract aphids and ants. I also have blackberry vines, navel orange trees, and Meyer lemon trees that are flowering. All are covered with the little black sweet ants that used to be in my house, thank you very much. Are these ants doing the plants any harm? If so, a suggested treatment?

AThe ants should not be harming any trees or plants to our knowledge.  Carpenter ants however can damage trees, but is sounds like you have the small black ants and not the large carpenter ants.  Ants can help with pollination, however they usually do not play a significant role.  This being said, the more ants you have outside the better chance there is they will show up in inside.  We recommend our outdoor ant control kit which will give the ants a food source outside that they will take back to the colony and eliminate the issue at the source.

May 2, 2012Mike from Long Island Ny asked:

QHow do you install the Antopia Ant Bait Station? Does the green part stay above ground?

AThe green part of the Antopia station does stay above ground. You will place the anchor (the part with the large threads) into the soil with a clockwise turning motion until the entryway (at the bottom of the green part of the station) is level with the soil. You can read the full Antopia installation instructions in the Antopia Placement Instructions guide. We have linked the instruction guide in our answer for your convenience but you can also find the link for the instructions on the Antopia Ant Bait Station page and also on the Outdoor Ant Kit page on our website.
