The Stink Bug Kit contains a combination of professional products to protect your home from a variety of insects including stink bugs (including the brown marmorated stink bug), kudzu bugs, lady bugs (asian beetles), box elder bugs, pill bugs and more. This kit includes Demon WP insecticide with Cypermethrin, Eco PCO D-X dust with natural pyrethrins, and a hand duster for easy application. Demon WP must be mixed with water before application and requires a 1 or 2 gallon hand pump sprayer to apply. Demon WP should be sprayed around the outside of the home to create a protective barrier to keep bugs from getting inside. Spray 3 feet up the side of the house and 2 feet out, all the way around the home. Also spray around window frames, window sills, door frames, any cracks and crevices around foundation or where caulking around windows and doors has opened up, around vents leading inside, and around lights (these bugs are attracted to the light from windows, doors, etc). For indoors, spray Demon right along the bottom of door frames and use Eco PCO D-X Dust to dust in walls voids, and in cracks and crevices (such as under baseboards) where bugs may be hiding or harboring. The Eco PCO D-X Dust should be applied only every 4 months. Check attics and crawl spaces as the bugs may be hiding and breeding in those areas as well. A monthly re-application is necessary for best results. A one gallon hand pump sprayer (sold seperately) is required to apply the Demon WP in this kit.

More Dead Stinkbugs!
By Chuck on March 21, 2010Last year the stinkbugs were unbearable. I mean everyday you'd accidentally smash one and smell like it the whole day. Some days the front of the house would be covered with brown stinkbugs. I ordered the overwintering kit and some Demand CS. I first did the overwintering kit (a little late) and was pleased to see dead stinkbugs all over the window sills. Now that it's getting warm again, I hit the house with some Demand CS. More dead stinkbugs. Awesome.

Kit for Stink bugs, Asian Beetles, etc.
By Deborah on September 18, 2010We just applied the "overwinter kit" product last week and will continue to do per instructions in unhappy anticipation of an October onslaught of Asian Lady Beetles that plague us every autumn. Already we are seeing quite a few dead or dying stinkbugs, which are another problem we have here in southwestern Virginia. I think the real test of "ultimate " satisfaction will be around the middle of October. If your product does what we hope it will....I'll be "shouting from the rooftop" nothing but praise for Cyanara . We've got about 30 neighbors nearby who will be clamoring to find out where we got the final solution to these horrid pests. You can bet orders will most likely be pouring in from them. The stink bug kit was effective on my asian beetle problem. I diluted and sprayed the siding, all around the windows, and anyplace I could remember the little buggers tunneling in. The Asian beetles can penetrate the window casings, moldings, and weather stripping seal by burrowing. My youngest child was quite concerned with them flying around his room in the past, kept him up at night. This year, after a rain shower, thousands of dead little ladybug bodies carried down the gutter downspout and I haven't seen a single one inside the house, flying around the lights at night. Hallelujah. I have enough left over for next year. The customer service was great when I called. Highly recommended.

I am just so shocked and amazed. My daughter and I did the ‘full’ quarterly extermination two weeks ago. I used your overwintering stink bug spray. I started inside the basement then moved outside. I am not sure if I still need to, but I so hate bugs and HAD still been getting frequent stink bugs in the house. We sprayed the bottom of the house, window sills, door sills, any opening (oil tank fill), then just the siding mainly around doors and windows, and the porch itself to use up the product. Anyway, in the last two weeks, we have found NUMEROUS (realistically around a dozen stink bugs in the house) ALL DEAD! In fact we haven’t seen a live bug inside the house. And on top of all of that, when I have been a nuisance with questions, you've always been there so quickly. So now, not only am I telling everybody, but so are my kids (22 & 27). Okay, we are celebrating tonight and going out to dinner!

We were literally out of our minds with trying to find a way to kill the sudden and complete onslaught of stink bugs that swarmed our townhouse around Aug-Sept-early Oct in SW VA. We had tried a few big box store bug killers with literally NO effect. So I of course google "how to kill brown stink bugs" and it brought me to this site and I am so grateful! This really and truly has killed them and its evidenced by their dead little bodies that we gleefully count each day :) I know its sadistic but we were so sick of having to smash them or just deal with them attacking us when we came/went from the house and a few escaping into the house from time to time. My husband mixed up the demon WP as directed and sprayed/coated the outside windows/siding up as far as he could reach. It does leave a icky powdery coating on windows/glass when it dries but its a small price to pay to know it kills them which it does! We havent used the dust yet but are excited to see how it helps also around window casings where they are trying to hide out. Honestly tho so many are dead after just the Demon WP we may hold off on the dust until spring. So glad we found this product!!!!

Sprayed our entire house and saw almost immediate results. Dead stink bugs all over the porch, deck, grass. It seems that the new ones that still try to go on the house end up dead soon as well. Noticing dead crickets, spiders and assorted other critters as well. The only thing about the product that is not favorable is the residue it leaves on surfaces, but a small price to pay for the relief of the stink bug horrors. My parents next door also did their house and are enjoying finally being able to be rid of them.

I've been searching EVERYWHERE for a way to get rid of this monsters. Nothing helped. Not hot water, alcohol, bug spray or strong grease remover that I even couldn't stand. They kept on moving and staying alive and It was the biggest nightmare. I finally ran in to this product and read ALL the comments. Although its not cheap at all I decided to buy it. The product arrived 3 days later. I put the powder on windows frames, door frames and around my home. And guess what? They still returned but this time they were all dead. I found 8 dead on every window in my home, dead on my balcony and dead in my office were I put spread some powder there as well. They will not die immediately if you poor some on them (nothing kills those monsters) but when you return a few minutes later you will find them dead with a few more of their buddies you didn't even know about. AYes, the products in our stink bug kit are safe to use around children and pets. You should always follow directions and apply the product only according to the label. Pets and children should be in another room or outside while treating. Once the products have been applied it is ok for children and pets to re-enter the room after they have dried, which usually takes about 30 - 45 minutes.

ATo answer your question, the #1 product for overwintering stink bugs is Demon WP (or Cyper WP, the generic of Demon WP) Demon WP contains the active ingredient cypermethrin which is known to pack quite a punch for those hard to kill insects. Demon WP is also a wettable powder. Using a wettable will keep the product up on the surface of the treated area and will be easier for insects to pick up on their bodies. You are right though, WPs or wettable powder formulations can leave a bit of a powdery residue on treated surfaces. A good alternative would be Cy-Kick CS. Cy Kick CS is microencapsulated and works a lot like WPs but without the residue.

I think this is the product that an exterminator was talking about spraying on my window frames to prevent stink bugs. This product is far cheaper than the estimate that I received. Is there any danger in the residue on the window frames? There will be children in the area, and they might touch the windows. Will the product cause discoloration or any damage to the semigloss paint?
ADemon WP will not actually damage the window frames or paint, but it will leave behind a white powdery residue that can be visible on dark colors. Children need to be out of the area while Demon WP is being applied. It should not cause any issues if children touch the treated areas later when it is dry.

AYou can use this kit anytime of year that you have a problem. The products in this kit are for all pests really, but they are very good products to use specifically to keep overwintering pests out. Overwintering pests are insects that try to get into the home in the late fall/early winter and then basically lay eggs in the walls of the house and hibernate, or overwinter, until spring/summer when the eggs hatch and start coming out into your home. This kit was designed for people to use in the late fall/winter when the see overwintering pests like stink bugs, Asian beetles, boxelder bugs, etc., trying to get into the home. This kit helps prevent a problem in the spring. If you have the pests now, it is most likely because you did not treat in the fall. You can purchase this kit now to take care of the issues you have now, but you should treat in the late fall/early winter so you don't have the same problem next year.

AThe object of the overwintering kit is to prevent stink bugs from getting into the home. The insecticide dust is a preventative treatment to kill any stink bugs that happen to make it inside. If you do not prevent or kill the stink bugs in the walls, they will lay eggs which will hatch in the spring and then come inside the home in large numbers. We think the agricultural site in your state is referring to if you did not spray anything outside to prevent them from entering, and you had hundreds or thousands of stink bugs inside your walls, then if you did apply something to kill them you would have piles of dead bugs which can lead to other issues. However, since you have treated proactively then you should not have enough stink bugs in your walls to create an issue. If by chance you did have an issue, the Pyganic dust would kill any insect in the walls including carpet beetles. This year has been a very bad year for stink bugs. Usually they are only present around your home for about 30 days, but this year the weather has fluctuated so much that the problem is continuing much longer than 30 days. Usually 1 kit is enough for a season, but this year many people are having to purchase more Demon WP. If you are all out of Demon WP and you still see stink bugs, then you should reapply the product so you do not have a large number entering the house and potentially causing an issue in the walls. If by chance they did go away or were not an issue when you receive your next shipment, the product will last for years on the shelf and since stink bugs typically resurface in the spring, you would have some on hand. Also, Demon WP is good for almost any other insect problem so it is not a bad product to have around.

AThere have been some articles recently talking about Dinotefuran for use on stink bugs. The calls we have received have been regarding stink bugs around homes and in gardens. Dinotefuran is an active ingredient, not the name of a product. We do have many products that contain dinotefuran, but none are labeled for use on stink bugs and none are really useful for stink bugs because none of them are in a typical spray form for general insects. There is roach gel and ant products with dinotefuran for inside use, as well as dust products. But we carry no sprays, nor do any exist in the pest control industry yet, for general pest control or stink bugs. Our most popular product for stink bugs by far is Demon WP, which is also contained in our stink bug kit. The stink bug kit or Demon WP would be for keeping stink bugs out of your home. For stink bugs in your garden you can use Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin.

A This is the first time we have heard of a love bug population invading a home and it makes us wonder if perhaps you have misidentified the type of insect you have found in your condo. Boxelder bugs are often confused with love bugs as they are both black with red markings but Boxelder bugs are known to invade homes during the fall months as they look for a warm place to spend their winter. After the cold season is over Boxelder bugs will try to emerge from their hidden harborage to continue their life cycle but they often wind up in your living space instead of outdoors. We recommend that you google "Boxelder bug picture" and see if this insect is in fact the invader you have found in your home. If they are indeed Boxelder bugs you can use the Overwintering Kit that we offer on our website to help stop this pest from moving indoors this fall. It is important to spray the Demon WP that comes in the kit around the exterior of your home once a month August-November to stop this type of pest from moving indoors. The kit also comes with Eco PCO D-X which you can put in cracks and crevices around the exterior and interior of your home as a long term insecticide (will last for about 4 months). If you find that what you have in your condo is actually love bugs, this would lead us to believe that you likely have a moisture problem in your siding or in your home which has perhaps confused the lovebugs into thinking that your home is a suitable environment to deposit their eggs, in which case you would need to hire a professional to find the source of the moisture problem.
