    Q
This is deceptive packaging, as pure ammonia nitrate is 34-0-0
UREA fertilizer is useless because it evaporates into the air almost immediately. By advertising this fertilizer as 34-0-0, you are attempting to trick the customer into thinking this is ammonium nitrate. UREA fertilizer is 44-0-0. I don't give my business to companys that try to deceive customers.
    A
We do apologize for any misinformation you feel we have provided, we are in no way trying to deceive our customers.  We do provide information on products as given to us by the manufacturer but have no control over the packaging of the products.  We do try to provide as much information about products as possible to our customers and no where on the product page for Pennington All Purpose Nitrogen Fertilizer 34-0-0 does it list that it is ammonium nitrate in any way.  The information states that it is Nitrogen - 34% and we do provide the MSDS sheet that further details on the ingredients of the product.

  • Asked by Linda from Gardendale, Alabama

    Q
What spreader listed on the back of the Pennington Pro Care Fertilizer is equivalent to my Scotts Standard?
Need to know what to set the spreader on and Scotts Spreader is not listed.
    A

We don't have the exact spreader setting for your model spreader. The easiest way to determine the correct setting to apply Pennington All Purpose Nitrogen Fertilizer 34-0-0
     is as follows:

If you need to use 1.15 lbs of product per 1,000 sq ft, then you would add 1.15 lb of product to spreader, start with a medium setting, then apply product to a 20 x 50 ft area (1,000 sq ft).  If you have product left, your setting is too low.  If you run out of product, your setting is too high

    Q
Is Pennington All Purpose Nitrigen Fertilizer 34-0-0 the best fertilizer for my lawn?
Which is better to use as fertilizing your lawn, slow or fast release? I am new to this and I am trying to make the best choice that I can based on the information that is provided,
    A

When using a product like Pennington All Purpose Notrigen Fertilizer 34-0-0, we always recommend getting a soil sample completed first so that you have a starting point when fertilizing your lawn. This will tell you what your lawn needs the most to get it healthy again. Quick release fertilizers make nitrogen available immediately to encourage a rapid recovery however, they can cause burnlike damage and too much can cause growth to quickly that can actually weaken your lawn in the long run. Slow release fertilizer provide nitrogen over a period of time and a steady rate, and are less likely to cause burn and can improve the overall health of your lawn.
