Pennington Crabgrass Preventer with Barricade provides control of crabgrass and other broadleaf weeds, such as barnyardgrass, henbit, and spurge. It is a selective pre-emergent herbicide that should be used on established lawns and grasses. It controls weeds by preventing their seeds from germinating and by stunting root development. For best results, Pennington Crabgrass Preventer with Barricade should be watered in with at least one-half inch of rainfall or irrigation or incorporated at least one to two inches into the soil within 14 days of application. This product should not be used on golf courses or putting greens.

Directions for Use

Crabgrass Preventer Barricade 5-10-25 is a selective preemergent herbicide that provides residual control of many grass and broadleaf weeds in established turf grasses (excluding golf course putting greens) and lawns. Crabgrass Preventer controls susceptible weeds by inhibiting weed seeds germination and root development. Most effective weed control is obtained when Crabgrass Preventer is activated by at least 1/2 inch of rainfall or irrigation, or shallow (1 to 2 inches) incorporation, prior to weed seed germination and within 14 days following application.

Not for use on plants being grown for sale or other commercial use, commercial seed production or research purposes.

Do not graze or feed livestock forage cut from areas treated with this product. Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system. Do not apply aerially. Do not apply to golf courses or putting greens. Failure to follow the directions for use and precautions on this label may result in poor weed control, crop injury or illegal residues.

Established Turf

Crabgrass Preventer Barricade 5-10-25 is a selective pre-emergent herbicide that, when properly applied, controls certain grass and broadleaf weeds in established turf grasses and lawns. The maximum amount of product that may be applied per year is given for each turf grass species in the Maximum Annual Rates section of this label.

Most effective weed control in turf grasses is obtained when this product is activated by at least 1/2 inch of rainfall or irrigation prior to weed seed germination and within 14 days following application. See map for approximate crabgrass seed germination dates.
