5 of 5 stars  Flea infestation
By Mark in Ft Worth, Tx on 05/18/2012
    Verified Purchase

Had a major flea infestation, probably wasted 2 weeks trying to get control of the problem with store products, don't waste your time with local store killers. Found do my own pest control, purchased permethrin and an igr and immediately got control of the situation. With a major infestation, don't be surprised if you have to make several applications over a 2 week period and thats due to the flea life cycle, but this stuff is the best and a local exterminator agreed.

5 of 5 stars  Japanese Beetles
By Hildegard in Saint Peters, MO on 07/16/2010

My yard had literally thousand of beetles this year. In my 50 years of gardening I never encountered any until last year. They loved the Crepe Myrtles, Virginia creeper, Pussy Willow, blooms on the Oak Hydrangea, and I even had them on the Echinacea petals and inside the Day lily blossoms. Permethrin SFR, just 10 cc per gallon of water had them eliminated within 2 days.  There are just a few stragglers now and in the last few days. Doing it myself saved me much money, thank you for making it available to the private consumer.  Directions must be followed to avoid damage to plants and/or pets. I had no unwanted results this way.

5 of 5 stars  Great Product
By Daniel in Deer Park, TX on 09/26/2010

I ordered the Permethrin after a little online research. It worked very well. I have no signs of fire ants all along my fence line or any more of those crazy Rasberry Ants either.....all after one application. As for, they shipped the product as advertised in a very timely manner. I will definitely do business with them again.

By Jason in Miami, FL on 09/12/2011

Bought for a tick infestation in Miami, Florida. Product is highly concentrated, so it's very economical for use with a hose sprayer for treating lawn. Seemed to be effective, particularly when combined with Preventic collars on the dogs. Ordering was easy and they shipped very quickly.

  • 5 of 5 stars  Concentrated insecticide is very economical to use
By Gary in Seneca, PA on 12/02/2016

I have been plagued with deer ticks for at least 4 years and I had been spraying our lawn and landscaping once a summer, but I have had to change to spraying once a month. The previous insecticide was a concentrate and basically cost me $27.00 each time I sprayed. The other insecticide worked fine, but became too expensive and was not always available. The 36.8% Permethrin will cost me about $5.00 to spray the yard & landscaping. It works great too.

By Scott in Alamo, TX on 10/30/2016

Product was delivered quickly, in perfect condition. Not cheap, but powerful and effective on South Texas bugs. I use it quarterly to hold down the chiggers in our yard, and around the foundation to discourage the ants, spiders, scorpions, etc.

  • 5 of 5 stars  So far the best thing for me!
By Joe in Shelocta on 10/27/2016

Permethrin work awesome for us. Our house used to be covered with stink bugs. A lot got inside the house. Now, hardly any on the house. Lots laying belly up on the rear deck. My dog is a tick magnet. Spray the dog any ticks that get on him come to the surface nearly immediately. I remove them before they have a chance to be eliminated.

QWill Permethrin SFR kill black widow and brown recluse spiders? Is it safe for gardens, children, and pets?
will permethrin sfr get rid of black widows and brown widows or is there a better product for these spiders? Please tell me the dangers for small children, animals and an organic garden. Thank you

ABrown recluse spiders and black widow spiders share the same biology as every other species of spiders and are not any harder to kill than other spiders. Permethrin SFR is labeled for spiders and should do a great job in helping you eliminate spiders in and around your home. Permethrin SFR is safe around children and pets as long as they are kept out of the area during the application and they do not return to the area until it is dry. Permethrin SFR should not be used in an organic garden because it is a synthetic product and it is not labeled for use on most types of edible plants.

QUsing Permethrin SFR how many oz per quart water for mix of .5%?

AYou will need to use 1 2/3 fl. oz. for each gallon of water to get a 0.5% ratio. If you only need to mix one quart of solution at a time you will need to use just under 1/2 (0.43) oz of Permethrin SFR per quart of water to get a 0.5% mixture.

I just got a 3 yr old pit bull and he has lots of ticks.

AYes, you can use Permethrin SFR on your dog. You should use ¼ fl. oz of product to 1¼ gallons water then thoroughly wet the animal to the skin with sponge or rag. Let drip dry. You can find these instructions on page 16 of the Permethrin SFR product label which we have linked in this answer for your convenience but is always available on the Permrthrin SFR product page.

QWill Permethrin SFR 36.8% kill worms that are harmful for dogs in my yard?

You do not state exactly what type of worms you would be trying to use Permethrin SFR 36.8% to treat. This product has several pests on the label. If you happen to be speaking of things like heartworm or intestinal worms, no this product would not treat for anything like that.

QIs the combo Permethrin + NyGuard safe in the home for an 11-month old who is crawling?
This combo was applied and we waited the full drying period before returning to the home. There was a strong odor and I am hesitant to allow my child to crawl on the floors. I see posts about the permethin not being safe for even clothing application, so I worry it poses a risk after carpet application. Is there harm in allowing my child to now roam about the house? Why is it dangerous when wet, but safe when dry.

Permethrin SFR 36.8%†cannot be applied to clothing. †Permethrin SFR 36.8%†mixed with Nyguard IGR is safe for children and pets after drying. There is a slight odor, but that dissapates over a short time. In the original wet state, it can irritate skin. That is why we recommend to keep children and pets away until dried. If the treated area were to get wet it does not "reactivate".†

QIf I double the Permethrin SFR 36.8% rate per gallon can I spray half the gallons per 1000 square feet?

We do not recommend over applying Permethrin SFR 36.8%. It would be a waste of product and could also create repellent tendencies. You don't want the insects to realize they are traveling over the treated area so that they will contact the application and die.

QWhat solvent can I use with Permethrin SFR 36.8%?

You did not state in your question or other detail what you are treating for.†Permethrin SFR 36.8% per the product label can be mixed with either water, diesel oil, or suitable mileral oil. For most structural pest control applications, you will dilute Permethrin SFR with water.

QWhat does it mean apply using 4 - 25 gallons of spray volume on the Permethrin SFR 36.8% label?
Is this talking about the size of the sprayer? If I am applying .5oz/gal/1000sqft of permethrin SFR to my lawn, then a 4 gallon sprayer will cover 4000sqft - right?

You don't state what pest you are treating for in your lawn however, when using Permethring SFR 36.8% in your lawn the most common rate used would be .8 oz per gallon of water per 1000 sq. ft. When it states using 4-25 gallons of spray volume, it is telling you to be sure that you are getting a complete coverage for the area that you are treating. So if it takes you 1 gallon of water to treat the 1000 sq. ft evenly then you would use the .8 in 1 gallon. Should it take you 2.5 gallons you would use the .8oz in 2.5 gallons of water to cover that 1000 sq. ft evenly.†

QIs Permethrin SFR 36.8% yard spray safe for cats after it dries?
I asked a veterinary toxicologist if it is safe to use permethrin on my lawn with 6 cats. He said yes, as long as the concentration does not exceed 1% and it properly dries before I allow the cats outside. I takes 3 gallons to spray the 3000 sq. ft. lawn. I'm planning to use 2 ounces of 36.8% permethrin in the FULL 3 gallon container (0.67 oz. per gallon). I estimate this will apply a total of 0.74 oz permethrin on the entire yard (0.25 oz. per 1000 sq. ft.) or 7 mg / sq. ft. and the spray concentration would be 0.5% permethrin (half of the 1% recommended). I'm confident this is safe for my cats. The question is: Is it strong enough to kill fleas and other insects?

In this case you can use the Permethrin SFR 36.8% at the .5% to the 1.0% based on the label with is (.5%) 1 2/3 oz †- (1.0%) 3 1/3 oz per gallon of water. This usage ratio would keep you within the 1% mixture rate. This would be enough for fleas and other pests outdoors depending on the weather condition (amount of rain, UV rays, etc). You do want to be sure the pets are completely out of the area while you are spraying, and until the product dries.
