Phantom Aerosol Spray has changed to Phantom II. Phantom II is still the same product - it still contains the same active ingredient, Chlorfenapyr. It now kills more insects such as foraging Fire Ants, Harvester Ants, Bees (Honey), and Carpenter Bees. Now containing a new formulation, this newly improved aerosol spray has less odor.

Phantom Pressurized Aerosol Spray delivers the power and effectiveness of Phantom Insecticide in a convenient and easy-to-use aerosol can. Phantom aerosol provides broad-spectrum control over numerous indoor pests including bed bugs, ants and cockroaches. Phantom dries clear with no visible residue, and delivers long-residual non-repellent control. In other words, Phantom aerosol will stay around and kill pests long after you spray it. Plus, the product has a transfer effect allowing insects to pick up the product and spread it to one another through touch and food-sharing, which kills even the pests you don't see. Effective on pyrethroid-resistant strains of bed bugs and cockroaches. Only for use in cracks and crevices where bed bugs or insects hide.

How Phantom Aerosol Works
Phantom Aerosol is a ready-to-use residual insecticide with the active ingredient Chlorfenapyr. Chlorfenapyr belongs to a relatively new class of insecticides called pyrroles which are produced from microbes. Pyrroles do not metabolize into active insecticides until after they enter the host target pest. Chlorfenapyr disrupts the production of ATP in the part of the cell that turns food into energy, causing cellular death and ultimate mortality. Because this process is slower than other modes of action, Phantom can have a transfer effect similar to that of baits on social insects like ants, cockroaches, and termites. Once applied, Phantom Aerosol has a residual of at least 30 days.
Phantom Aerosol Target Pests
Ants, cockroaches, beetles, bed bugs, spiders, wasps
PESTS CONTROLLED WITH PHANTOM AEROSOL: Ants (Acrobat, Argentine, Odorous House, Pavement, Pharaoh, Pyramid); Beetles (Asian Lady, Confused Flour, Darkling Larva (Yellow mealworm), Saw-toothed Grain); Bark Scorpions; Bed Bugs, Boxelder Bugs, Centipedes; Cockroaches (American, Asian, Brown-Banded, German, Oriental, Smokey Brown); Earwigs; House Crickets; House Flies; Paper Wasps; Pillbugs; Spiders (Black Widow, Cellar); Silverfish; Stored Product Pests; Termites
Target Uses of Phantom Aerosol
Phantom Aerosol has the same power and effectiveness as Phantom Insecticide Concentrate in a convenient ready-to-use can. Phantom has a long residual and can be used in many places. Because of its transfer effect, Phantom is excellent for ants, cockroaches, and other social insects. It can also be used in conjunction with baiting. Phantom Aerosol is excellent for use in smaller areas such as apartments where residual insecticides may be desired, but the large quantities that concentrates yield are not needed. Because of its unique active ingredient, Phantom is effective on pyrethroid-resistant strains of bed bugs and cockroaches.
Phantom Aerosol is not a knockdown agent and should not be used for knockdown treatment of stinging insects.
ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Chlorfenapyr 0.5%

Pros Use It
By Shirley in Hoboken, NJ on 10/15/2010
We had confirmed bed bugs at work and I think I brought them home. I asked what the exterminators had used and they said Suspend and Mother Earth. I then called a local exterminator and they quoted me $800 to spray Phantom and dust with DE. I can't afford a pro so I purchased Phantom, Suspend and Mother Earth, put on a mask and went to battle myself. It's been only 3 weeks but I think I won. I slashed the bottom of my new expensive sofa to really get into the grooves and sprayed everywhere. I also encased my mattress and box spring. It's reassuring that if the bugs come back I can retreat immediately and not have to spend $800 each time.

Works Great, but Be Careful!
By Chris in Falls Church, VA on 08/10/2010
This product has a ruthless odor, stronger than most aerosols such as CB-80 or P.I. and if used indoors can smell bad and choke everyone out of the room. Be sure to use your PPE and/or open windows while using it. Also, be sure not to spray it in your eyes...I accidentally sprayed it right into my eye and it burned and had a cold, tingling feeling for hours.

Same Stuff the Pros Use
By Brad in Rex, GA on 10/02/2010
I had my upstairs treated for BedBugs last month by a professional pest control company. I checked my receipt and searched the chemicals they used. That is when I found DoMyOwnPestControl.com. On my receipt from the Pest Control Company it lists Phantom Aerosol Spray was used along with other chemicals. So I bought a can and also the BedBug Kit#2 which also contains products the pros use. I also bought mattress and box spring encasements. They are priceless, since I can sleep knowing that those evil bugs are no longer camping out waiting to suck my blood. DoMyOwnPestControl.com was easy to order from and my order was received in three days. I am very pleased with how they do business. I would recommend DoMyOwnPestControl.com to anyone suffering from BedBug infestation.

Kiss your indoor ant problems goodbye
By Philip in Atlanta, GA on 06/05/2009
For weeks I've been dealing with annoying little black ants (argentine or sugar ants I think) coming in and around the back door of my house and eating all of the Cheerios our little baby keeps dropping on the kitchen floor. We tried everything to stop the ants, but whatever we used or sprayed on them would just keep them away for a day or so, and then they would just pop out of the wall somewhere else. Then I tried this Phantom spray. Wow, does this stuff work! I sprayed just a line of Phantom along the bottom of the back door and where the ants were coming in, and within minutes there were dead ants everywhere I sprayed. Not only that, but the ants never came back. I highly recommend!

Oh my gosh
By Phil in Raleigh, NC on 04/04/2010
I can't believe they now have an aerosol spray for Phantom. This is basically an indoor version of Termidor, which is the best stuff for ants. I used to work for a pest control company and ants were the most difficult thing to kill because most people would use something from Walmart, which ants can detect and they would find new places to go. However, Phantom they can't detect, and it kills them slowly, but completely. The way that it works is that it gets on the ants' bodies and when they rub up against each other the insecticide then rubs off on those ants. It will take about 5 days to see them completely gone, but this stuff can't be beat for totally removing your complete ant problem. I am just shocked that it is now in a spray as we had to mix it from a huge bottle.

Bye Bye Bed Bugs
By Kathy in Monmouth Junction, NJ on 04/11/2016
Had a huge bed bug infestation. Brought the little buggers home from a motel stay. We did not notice the bugs right away, which is why they multiplied so greatly. We tried several products with limited results. Finally, a friend told us about Phantom. So we ordered two cans of Phantom II Aerosol Spray. This stuff is pretty good. After the first time we used it, there were less bugs. Since we had a major infestation, we repeated the application of the Phantom spray a second time. After that, there were even less bugs. There are still a few but we plan on ordering more Phantom spray and are considering ordering the professional level kit to do the whole house. One thing we did before spraying was to thoroughly clean and vacuum the house and emptied the vacuum canister afterwards. We also used a steamer to kill as many bugs as possible before spraying. The combination of these preparations and the Phantom spray really helped a lot. This stuff really worked well for us. Before ordering the Phantom spray, we checked the comments on the website. Some people commented that there was a very unpleasant smell, but we did not find this to be the case. There was a small odor, but it quickly dissipated after we reopened the windows in the sprayed areas, and it was almost completely gone within four hours. It was easy to order this product also. The people taking our order were courteous and informative and we received the product within just a couple of days via UPS. I would definitely order this product again. I plan to treat the affected parts of the house quarterly even if I don't see any more bugs. This stuff works good on fleas and spiders too. After using Phantom spray, we are confident that with another treatment we can finally say hello to a good night's sleep and bye, bye to the bed bugs.

atomic ant bomb
By Bill in Honesdale PA on 03/29/2016
For 3 years we have been battling carpenter ants around window frames. Can after can of a common brand would remedy the sightings for short period of time but never kill them off. this spring we had more than ever emerging from the same window frame. I did some research and found this site and Phantom 2 spray. I sprayed around all the seems and drilled 1/8 inch holes about 12 inches apart around framesill and injected this spray into frame work .I used wood filler to make the holes invisible. Its been weeks now and not a single survivor. great product stop wasting your money on brand name nonsense.

Great killing pest
By Audrey in Goldsboro, NC on 01/21/2016
This product worked really great at killing pest. My problem with it was it drips are the sprayer. Also, the directions say to use as crack andcrevice spray but no straw is provided.
By Debby in knoxville, tennessee on 09/24/2015
Really like the straw that comes with it . Makes it easy to get into cracks and other small places . Don't really blame the manufacturer but because there are some many regulations on pesticides none of them work quickly so you end up using 10 x as much.I have tried this and several other products and can't say how well they work after spraying a bug they were still moving so I smushed them. My infestation is diminishing so I suppose it maybe working to eliminate the ones hiding behind the wall. Time will tell.
Dear Debby, Phantom is made to have a very slow kill because it allows the insects that crawl over treated areas to pick it up on their bodies and return to the colony or nest. Then, through social interactions, the insecticide is spread to the other insects. It can take a few days to kill and will not kill immediately even if the insects are sprayed directly. Smushing the insects will defeat the purpose of using this product. You should choose Phantom for ants, roaches and other social insects. If you want a fast kill, you should choose a pyrethrin based product such as Microcare. That product will kill on contact but it does not leave behind a residual to keep killing after it has dried. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. We appreciate your feedback and your business!

QCan you spray Phantom on your bed, babys furniture? is it safe? Is this product known to cause cancer?
A man came in today and sprayed for bedbugs with phantom. He sprayed the baseboards and the permiter. my living room furniture, my babys bed, the dog bed and my mattress and boxspring? is it still safe to sleep on? and what should i do if not? Is this stuff toxic? He had my one year old, my dog and myself stay in the house while he was spraying.
AWe cannot comment on any work done by a pest control company for liability reasons. We can tell you that the areas you mentioned that were sprayed with the Phantom are listed as areas that can safely be treated on the Phantom Aerosol product label. You do need to let the treated areas dry before you use them and you do need to cover the mattress with a sheet before you use it again. Phantom is safely used in homes everyday to help eliminate bedbug infestations.
QHas there been any report of bed bugs becoming resistant to Phantom?
APhantom Aerosol Spray is currently one of the most promising products for bed bug control available right now. It has shown very good results against bed bug colonies that are resistant to other products and to date has not shown any resistance to the Phantom itself.
Qwhat is the difference between bed bug treatment kit with phantom spray and bedlam spray?
I bought the bed bug treatment with the phantom spray but I found that your q and A seems to recommend the bedlam spray. What are the factors I should pay attention to when using the phantom spray. What are the advantages of using one spray over the other.
AThere are many factors that we considering when answering a customer submitted question. Phantom is one of the top products on the market for bedbug infestations but for some customers it is too costly. Phantom is a non-repellent insecticide which means that bedbugs would not be able to detect that it is there and they will readily walk through treated areas. In the Q&A that you are referencing the other customer could have been using other synthetic pyrethroids in the same are which would have interfered with the non-repellent qualities of Phantom or there could have been a budget concern. Also the customer who submitted the Q&A you are referring to may have lived in a state where Phantom is restricted.
QCan I use Phantom Insecticide Spray in combination with Diatomaceous Earth?
I want to get the Phantom for the bedbug problem in my apartment. It is recommended that we use the Phantom only in cracks and crevices. Can I use it in combination with MotherEarth Dust? I like the Phantom spray for cracks and crevices and DE for the carpets.
AYou can use Phantom Aerosol spray in the same area as other products like MotherEarth D. Phantom Aerosol Spray is ideal for cracks and crevices and has been proven to be very effective against bed bugs.
QCan I spray Phantom and then later on spray Bedlam over the same area?
Can I spray Onslaught and Phantom over the same area at different intervals? There is a small spot area underneath my computer table where the bugs are especially active and probably live between the floor tiles. I would like to spray the Phantom for long-term control and the Onslaught or Bedlam for more immediate control.
AYou should apply one or the other, but not two in the same place. All of the products you had mentioned are very good products and it really is overkill to apply two in the same place. Bedlam and Onslaught may work a little quicker than Phantom and because of this it would not benefit you to spray Phantom over another product. The Bedlam and Onslaught will kill the bugs just the same, and adding Phantom would not make them work quicker or more effectively. All of this being said it would not hurt anything to apply Phantom over the same area, but it would not be very cost effective.

QWill Phantom II Aerosol Spray work on wasps?
09/29/2015 Val from Hawaii
QCan you spray Phantom Aerosol under the refrigerator and sides of the refrigerator? Also along the kitchen baseboard?
A Yes, Phantom Aerosol can be applied to those areas, allow time for product to dry before re-entering area. Apply as a spot and/or crack and crevice and/or void treatment where pests harbor, nest, trail, run, and/or breed or hide. Treat into voids or to surfaces beneath cabinets, furniture, spaces between equipment, expansion joints, surfaces behind sinks, floor drains (to sewers), lockers, and water pipes. Please read label for further instruction.

QWhat would be best to use in/around a portable dishwasher in a kitchen with a mild German roach problem?
The portable dishwasher has a big block of cement at the bottom to keep it from tipping over when a tray full of dishes is brought out onto the open door. There is a space below where the door hinges from where I might be able to insert a tool to apply dust or spray. I don't know whether this space is open to the motor etc. If I put something like a "roach motel" in I would not expect to be able to retrieve it later. I would rather not use anything that is an attractant as I may not have roaches in there right now.
A We would recommend using Phantom Aerosol spray to help eliminate roaches around the dishwasher. Phantom Aerosol is not an on-contact kill. The reason we recommend this product treat roaches in these situations is because the roaches travel through the treated areas and then transfer the active ingredient into the voids to the other roaches, creating a domino killing effect.

QI have ants coming in my bathroom from the ceiling. What else do I need to do to kill these ants.
I bought Taurus SC and sprayed it around my house and up the foundation to the siding. There is some/little indication of ants on part of my foundation. I just sprayed this two days ago. The ants in my bathroom are getting worse. Many now have wings!!!! I finally found out exactly where they are coming from; a gap between the can light insert and the sheet rock. The gap is about 1/4 inch all around the can light. Isn't there something else I can spray or a dust I can put up in those cracks to kill the colony. They did not respond to bait. Or, do we need to treat our attic crawl space with something. I know I need to give Taurus SC time to work but the ants are getting worse in my bathroom. They don't go back up to the can light. They basically die on the counter top.
AYes, it can take awhile for the Taurus to transfer and eradicate the ant colony. You may also want to use Phantom for inside those cracks and crevices. Phantom has a transfer effect allowing insects to pick up the product and spread it to one another through touch and food-sharing.

QIs Phantom Aerosol Spray harmful to pets....like cats?
APhantom Aerosol Spray should be applied when the pets are not in the area. They can re-enter once the treated surfaces are completely dry.

QWhy Is this product soooo expensive?
What makes this product so good that it cost so much? I can go to Lowes and get 6 pack of wasp spray for lest than one can of this stuff, and it shoots a lot further. I was wondering why this stuff is so expensive?
AThe products that we carry, such as Phantom Aerosol, are all professional grade products so the prices will be different then something that you can buy in a local store. There is likely more of the active ingredient in the products that we carry as well. However, we do offer free shipping and no tax to most places in the US. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

QPhantom 2 aerosol
I was reading the label and it says I have to be registererd/licnesed by the state to buy and apply this. Can I still buy and apply it?

QHow or can you rid a fifth wheel camper that is overrun with little black or red ants inside and out?
Recently purchased this camper, went camping and an hour or so later the counters were covered with ants, used baits and got rid of some of them. We took it back to the dealer and they used a bomb inside, killed a lot of them but they are still there, they are crawling on the outside of the camper as well. I recently purchased some Talstar from your company but I am unsure about how to get rid of the ants in the walls....never done this before so I would like some info before I ever start. Thanks in advance and hope you can help me.
APhantom Aerosol would be a good choice for you. Phantom should be applied around baseboards, door frames, window frames and places where utilities (cables, pipes and wires) enter through the wall as these are the most likely places for the ants to enter/exit. Phantom is a non-repellent insecticide that has a delayed reaction which allows ants time to get back to the colony and spread the product. In essence, the ants will not be able to tell that the product is in place and they will pick it up on the fine hairs all over their body and inadvertently carry it back to the colony where over a course of a few days it will knock out the entire colony. Phantom works really well because you don't have to worry about whether the ants will all take the bait, they just need to walk over the treated areas.

QWhat's the best product for ridding my car of ants?
My assigned parking spot at our apartment complex is underneath a laurel oak tree. Recently, I've noticed black ants that think they've found a new home.
AWe would recommend using an aerosol product like Phantom along the crevices of the car where they are trailing. The Phantom is a delayed kill so it will get not only the ones that are coming in your car but also any other ants they come into contact with in their nest to eliminate the entire problem.

QIS PHANTOM AEROSOL GONNA HELP ME BETTER THAN BEDLAM ?
I HAVE TREATED THE HOUSE WITH BEDLAM AND ALSO HAVE BED BUG MATTRES COVERS ALSO I HAVE APPLY DIATOMACEOUS EARTH IN THE BED FRAMES AROUND THE BOTTOM OF MY WALLS IN THE CONERS I HAVE TRIED HOT SHOT BED BUG/FLEA KILLER IN THE WHOLE HOUSE I AM IN THE POINT I CANT ANY MORE I JUST ORDER THE PHANTOM AEROSOL FROM YOU GUYS I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO MY LITTLE 3YR IS THE ONLY ONE AND I GETTING BITTEN I WASH MY SHEETS WITH HOT WATER I STEAM CLEAN THE FUNITURE AND EVERYTHING I CAN IS THIS MY LAST AEROSOL I NEED TO USE TO SEE IF THAT WILL HELP?
APhantom Aerosol will leave a longer residual than Bedlam. Bedlam is used as a contact kill and leaves approx a 2 week residual. Phantom Aerosol can be sprayed along the tufts, folds and seams of the mattress and in the bed frame, box spring and along the cracks and crevices of furniture, etc. In addition to using a dust in wall voids and box spring areas, we recommend using Temprid SC around the perimeters of the room. Apply as a crack and crevice treatment to all baseboards, moldings, beneath floor coverings and carpets, closets, shelves, curtains, furniture and picture frames that may provide harborage to bed bugs. Temprid SC can be re-applied every 7 to 10 days as needed.
