Phantom Pressurized Aerosol Spray delivers the power and effectiveness of Phantom Insecticide in a convenient and easy-to-use aerosol can. Phantom aerosol provides broad-spectrum control over numerous indoor pests including bed bugs, ants and cockroaches. Phantom dries clear with no visible residue, and delivers long-residual non-repellent control. In other words, Phantom aerosol will stay around and kill pests long after you spray it. Plus, the product has a transfer effect allowing insects to pick up the product and spread it to one another through touch and food-sharing, which kills even the pests you don't see. Effective on pyrethroid-resistant strains of bed bugs and cockroaches. Only for use in cracks and crevices where bed bugs or insects hide.

How Phantom Aerosol Works
Phantom Aerosol is a ready-to-use residual insecticide with the active ingredient Chlorfenapyr. Chlorfenapyr belongs to a relatively new class of insecticides called pyrroles which are produced from microbes. Pyrroles do not metabolize into active insecticides until after they enter the host target pest. Chlorfenapyr disrupts the production of ATP in the part of the cell that turns food into energy, causing cellular death and ultimate mortality. Because this process is slower than other modes of action, Phantom can have a transfer effect similar to that of baits on social insects like ants, cockroaches, and termites. Once applied, Phantom Aerosol has a residual of at least 30 days.
Phantom Aerosol Target Pests
Ants, cockroaches, beetles, bed bugs, spiders, wasps
PESTS CONTROLLED WITH PHANTOM AEROSOL: Ants (Acrobat, Argentine, Odorous House, Pavement, Pharaoh, Pyramid); Beetles (Asian Lady, Confused Flour, Darkling Larva (Yellow mealworm), Saw-toothed Grain); Bark Scorpions; Bed Bugs, Boxelder Bugs, Centipedes; Cockroaches (American, Asian, Brown-Banded, German, Oriental, Smokey Brown); Earwigs; House Crickets; House Flies; Paper Wasps; Pillbugs; Spiders (Black Widow, Cellar); Silverfish; Stored Product Pests; Termites
Target Uses of Phantom Aerosol
Phantom Aerosol has the same power and effectiveness as Phantom Insecticide Concentrate in a convenient ready-to-use can. Phantom has a long residual and can be used in many places. Because of its transfer effect, Phantom is excellent for ants, cockroaches, and other social insects. It can also be used in conjunction with baiting. Phantom Aerosol is excellent for use in smaller areas such as apartments where residual insecticides may be desired, but the large quantities that concentrates yield are not needed. Because of its unique active ingredient, Phantom is effective on pyrethroid-resistant strains of bed bugs and cockroaches.
Phantom Aerosol is not a knockdown agent and should not be used for knockdown treatment of stinging insects.
ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Chlorfenapyr 0.5%

Pros Use It
By Shirley on October 15, 2010
We had confirmed bed bugs at work and I think I brought them home. I asked what the exterminators had used and they said Suspend and Mother Earth. I then called a local exterminator and they quoted me $800 to spray Phantom and dust with DE. I can't afford a pro so I purchased Phantom, Suspend and Mother Earth, put on a mask and went to battle myself. It's been only 3 weeks but I think I won. I slashed the bottom of my new expensive sofa to really get into the grooves and sprayed everywhere. I also encased my mattress and box spring. It's reassuring that if the bugs come back I can retreat immediately and not have to spend $800 each time.

Works Great, but Be Careful!
By Chris on August 10, 2010
This product has a ruthless odor, stronger than most aerosols such as CB-80 or P.I. and if used indoors can smell bad and choke everyone out of the room. Be sure to use your PPE and/or open windows while using it. Also, be sure not to spray it in your eyes...I accidentally sprayed it right into my eye and it burned and had a cold, tingling feeling for hours.

Same Stuff the Pros Use
By Brad on October 2, 2010
I had my upstairs treated for BedBugs last month by a professional pest control company. I checked my receipt and searched the chemicals they used. That is when I found DoMyOwnPestControl.com. On my receipt from the Pest Control Company it lists Phantom Aerosol Spray was used along with other chemicals. So I bought a can and also the BedBug Kit#2 which also contains products the pros use. I also bought mattress and box spring encasements. They are priceless, since I can sleep knowing that those evil bugs are no longer camping out waiting to suck my blood. DoMyOwnPestControl.com was easy to order from and my order was received in three days. I am very pleased with how they do business. I would recommend DoMyOwnPestControl.com to anyone suffering from BedBug infestation.

Kiss your indoor ant problems goodbye
By Philip on June 5, 2009
For weeks I've been dealing with annoying little black ants (argentine or sugar ants I think) coming in and around the back door of my house and eating all of the Cheerios our little baby keeps dropping on the kitchen floor. We tried everything to stop the ants, but whatever we used or sprayed on them would just keep them away for a day or so, and then they would just pop out of the wall somewhere else. Then I tried this Phantom spray. Wow, does this stuff work! I sprayed just a line of Phantom along the bottom of the back door and where the ants were coming in, and within minutes there were dead ants everywhere I sprayed. Not only that, but the ants never came back. I highly recommend!

Oh my gosh
By Phil on April 4, 2010
I can't believe they now have an aerosol spray for Phantom. This is basically an indoor version of Termidor, which is the best stuff for ants. I used to work for a pest control company and ants were the most difficult thing to kill because most people would use something from Walmart, which ants can detect and they would find new places to go. However, Phantom they can't detect, and it kills them slowly, but completely. The way that it works is that it gets on the ants' bodies and when they rub up against each other the insecticide then rubs off on those ants. It will take about 5 days to see them completely gone, but this stuff can't be beat for totally removing your complete ant problem. I am just shocked that it is now in a spray as we had to mix it from a huge bottle.

It states in the description of this product on your website that it is a quick knockdown insecticide...Its not, it states it in the label. Also, when doing C.C treatments on bed frames, it does leave a white (Very faint) residue. Good product overall.

By Ed on September 2, 2013
This product works had down for bed bugs. They die off in four days I used dry ice to attract them and phantom did the rest.
September 1, 2013
have been at war with them- every time something works they seem to get resistant to it. apply phantom aerosol spray to an entirely empty kitchen - still seeing dead bugs after 2 weeks- also got gentrol point source- now if I could do something about the foreclosed home next store to stop sending the bugs-rats- squirrels (grrrr)

This works great in conjuction with the Ant Gel and Ant Bait Granules.
June 29, 2013
This product was originally recommended to me by a commercial exterminator. Since I began using it, I have found it to be the only product I've found that seems to work immediately and have a lasting effect on eradicating ants. I have used it in some difficult conditions and it has always performed as good as or better than expected. There is no other product I would consider using.

Always tough to watch em walk away
By Nate on May 19, 2013
Bought Phantom to treat for small ants. Tried c&c treatment with Cy-kick like I did last year but they just kept changing where they'd sneak in. Phantom worked great. It's just tough to watch em walkin around and not kill em so they can go back to the colony with the Phantom on their bodies. Even tougher when the colony goes into panic mode and you see an increase before the die-off.
Works for me!
By Trent on May 18, 2013
The last two years I've had an invasion of carpenter ants. Both times I used phantom I would find a huge wingless queen traveling by herself 5 days later around the area I sprayed. A good sign that the colony stopped feeding her! Use phantom in cracks and crevices and dominion or termidor around the perimeter of your yard and foundation and it shuts down any carpenter ant colony in the area!

Christine from Sd asked:
QCan you spray Phantom on your bed, babys furniture? is it safe? Is this product known to cause cancer?
A man came in today and sprayed for bedbugs with phantom. He sprayed the baseboards and the permiter. my living room furniture, my babys bed, the dog bed and my mattress and boxspring? is it still safe to sleep on? and what should i do if not? Is this stuff toxic? He had my one year old, my dog and myself stay in the house while he was spraying.
AWe cannot comment on any work done by a pest control company for liability reasons. We can tell you that the areas you mentioned that were sprayed with the Phantom are listed as areas that can safely be treated on the Phantom Aerosol product label. You do need to let the treated areas dry before you use them and you do need to cover the mattress with a sheet before you use it again. Phantom is safely used in homes everyday to help eliminate bedbug infestations.
November 30, 2009 Jason asked:
QHas there been any report of bed bugs becoming resistant to Phantom?
APhantom Aerosol Spray is currently one of the most promising products for bed bug control available right now. It has shown very good results against bed bug colonies that are resistant to other products and to date has not shown any resistance to the Phantom itself.
July 17, 2011 Yuen asked:
Qwhat is the difference between bed bug treatment kit with phantom spray and bedlam spray?
I bought the bed bug treatment with the phantom spray but I found that your q and A seems to recommend the bedlam spray. What are the factors I should pay attention to when using the phantom spray. What are the advantages of using one spray over the other.
AThere are many factors that we considering when answering a customer submitted question. Phantom is one of the top products on the market for bedbug infestations but for some customers it is too costly. Phantom is a non-repellent insecticide which means that bedbugs would not be able to detect that it is there and they will readily walk through treated areas. In the Q&A that you are referencing the other customer could have been using other synthetic pyrethroids in the same are which would have interfered with the non-repellent qualities of Phantom or there could have been a budget concern. Also the customer who submitted the Q&A you are referring to may have lived in a state where Phantom is restricted.
August 1, 2009 Deepa asked:
QCan I use Phantom Insecticide Spray in combination with Diatomaceous Earth?
I want to get the Phantom for the bedbug problem in my apartment. It is recommended that we use the Phantom only in cracks and crevices. Can I use it in combination with MotherEarth Dust? I like the Phantom spray for cracks and crevices and DE for the carpets.
AYou can use Phantom Aerosol spray in the same area as other products like MotherEarth D. Phantom Aerosol Spray is ideal for cracks and crevices and has been proven to be very effective against bed bugs.
November 18, 2009 Brenda asked:
QCan I spray Phantom and then later on spray Bedlam over the same area?
Can I spray Onslaught and Phantom over the same area at different intervals? There is a small spot area underneath my computer table where the bugs are especially active and probably live between the floor tiles. I would like to spray the Phantom for long-term control and the Onslaught or Bedlam for more immediate control.
AYou should apply one or the other, but not two in the same place. All of the products you had mentioned are very good products and it really is overkill to apply two in the same place. Bedlam and Onslaught may work a little quicker than Phantom and because of this it would not benefit you to spray Phantom over another product. The Bedlam and Onslaught will kill the bugs just the same, and adding Phantom would not make them work quicker or more effectively. All of this being said it would not hurt anything to apply Phantom over the same area, but it would not be very cost effective.

Felicia from Fayetteville, Ar asked:
QWhat is the best and strongest item I can get to kill roaches. This roach infestation is becoming ridiculous!
I live in an apartment with 2 small children and a small dog. Roaches are gross and apartment management won't work with residents to get rid of them, so my building has decided to take care of it ourselves.
It can take several months to get rid of a large infestation. Infestations do not get large quickly and unfortunately they do not go away quickly either. Below you will find our best recommendations for eliminating roaches: The Roach Control Kit #2 is perfect for roach control problems in homes and apartments. This professional kit includes 1 packet of Demon WP Insecticide (which makes 4 gallons of finished solution) for spraying the outside perimeter of the home and inside underneath appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc. You'll also get 4 x 35 gram tubes of Invict Gold Roach Bait Gel--one of the best roach baits on the market. Invict can be applied up high in the kitchen in the corner of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that attracts and kills feeding roaches, who also spread the bait to other roaches by contact or by sharing food. Finally, 20 Gentrol Point Source stations provide an IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) that will stop roaches from laying eggs, helping to halt the infestation. The combination of an IGR with roach bait is a highly effective roach control strategy that is widely used by pest control professionals. Demon WP must be applied with a 1 gallon pump sprayer. Here is a link to a great article that really goes into depth in explaining a roach control program.

QCan phantom aerosol spray in the kitchen drawers, cabinets & pantry that is empty?
Can phantom aerosol spray be used in the kitchen drawers, cabinets & pantry that is empty as a precautionary measure?
A Phantom is labeled to be used in food handling areas, but per the Label, it cannot be used in kitchen cabinets. You can use a product like Cy-kick Aerosol in the cracks and crevices of the cabinets. Be sure that all food and food handling items are removed.

Steven from King Of Prussia, Pa asked:
QDoes Phantom Aerosol Smell Bad?
Does Phantom aerosol have a strong smell detectable by humans? If so how would it compare to Bedlam Plus, which has a bit of a lingering bug spray odor to me.
The MSDS for Phantom does state that it has a strong odor, of acetone compared to the Bedlam Plus odor of a sweet solvent smell. The smell from either the Phantom or Bedlam Plus should dissipate once the product dries which is typically 30 mins - 1 hour.

QI need an aerosol and dust to treat for bed bugs
hello guys i have a freind that has bed bugs ive been spraying his house with masterline for the past 2 months and the number of bed bugs have been reduced but ...they are starting to come out again i need a aerosol spray that i could use on the mattres and baseboards and on the furniture i was thinking of using cb80 spray ..what do you recoomend wich spray to use or a dust..thanks
A We recommend to use both a dust like Cimexa Dust and residual spray like Phantom aerosol. The Cimexa dust works well in wall voids and areas where Bed Bugs like to hide, but you cannot spray a liquid. The Phantom is labeled to be applied to cracks, crevices, seams, and fold of furniture and other areas, Please be sure to follow the product label for application.

Sue from La, Ca asked:
QWhat is the shelf life of the the Phantom aerosol spray?
A Phantom and most other aerosol sprays should be used within 1 year of purchase for best results.
July 15, 2013 Nick asked:
QIs it safe to use Phantom for ant control around my hot water heater and furnace? Thank you.
A It is completely safe to use around your furnace and water heater as long as the pilot light is not on during application. The heat from the furnace could potentially cause the Phantom to break down on the surface and not have as long of a residual but it would work great for ant control in those areas. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Steve from Ludington Mi asked:
QWhat do I do when ants ignore every kind of sweet and protein bait I have offered them?
I have small (~1/8", no more than 3/16" long) black or very dark brown ants which are in the wall behind the bathroom shower. I have found a hole where they come out at the base of the shower. I tried several sugar-syrup baits (terro and revenge, plus home-made boric acid + sugar +water and boric acid + pancake syrup, and Raid bait traps, which appear to have peanut butter inside. I also made home-made peanut butter + boric acid. I put out a small piece of cheese. Nothing seems to attract them. I have ordered some Advance 375A protein bait and some Intice sweet liquid bait from your web site, but have not received them yet, so I don't know if they will work. I would prefer to use baits, as I am not enthused with spreading toxic sprays inside my house. Please advise.
A There are several species of ants that make their own food and will not take any type of bait at all. You may be dealing with one of these ant species. In cases like this you are limited to using a spray, dust or foam of some sort to gain control. When the products are used as recommended on the product label they are usually limited to cracks and crevices and voids and are not spread through the home. Phantom Aerosol would be a good choice for ant control indoors. Phantom is a non-repellent insecticide that has a delayed reaction which allows ants time to get back to the colony and spread the product. In essence, the ants will not be able to tell that the product is in place and they will pick it up on the fine hairs all over their body and inadvertently carry it back to the colony where over a course of a few days it will knock out the entire colony. Phantom works really well because you don't have to worry about whether the ants will all take the bait, they just need to walk over the treated areas. Phantom should be applied around baseboards, door frames, window frames and places where utilities (cables, pipes and wires) enter through the wall as these are the most likely places for the ants to enter/exit.

Matt from Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca asked:
QWe have wood-boring beetles in a few floor boards. Can Phantom Spray be used on the wood for spot treatment?
We would not recommend Phantom Aerosol Spray to treat powder post beetles. You should use a wood treatment product to treat powder post beetles. Bora-Care is the best wood treatment product available. Bora-Care will penetrate through the wood and kill the larvae eating the wood no matter where they are in the wood. However, it can only be applied to raw wood. It cannot be applied to wood that is painted, stained, or sealed. If your wood is painted, stained, or sealed, then you will need to drill holes and inject Bora-Care or sand the finish off of the wood, treat with Bora-Care, and then refinish the wood. Please let us know if you have nay other questions.

Amy from Whitesburg,ga asked:
QHow often do you use Phantom Aerosol when treating for bed bugs?
A Phantom Aerosol can only be sprayed every 30 days for bed bugs or any other pest. If you wanted to do a follow up treatment every 7-10 days between sprays of Phantom, you could use a spray like Bedlam Insecticide in the same areas. If treating for an active infestations-no matter how small or large- for bedbugs, please review our Bed Bug Kits and our Bed Bug Guide to make sure you are using the proper methods and treating in all areas of the home where they hide, to help you get rid of the problem faster. Please let us know if you have any questions.
