Pros Use It
By Shirley on October 15, 2010We had confirmed bed bugs at work and I think I brought them home. I asked what the exterminators had used and they said Suspend and Mother Earth. I then called a local exterminator and they quoted me $800 to spray Phantom and dust with DE. I can't afford a pro so I purchased Phantom, Suspend and Mother Earth, put on a mask and went to battle myself. It's been only 3 weeks but I think I won. I slashed the bottom of my new expensive sofa to really get into the grooves and sprayed everywhere. I also encased my mattress and box spring. It's reassuring that if the bugs come back I can retreat immediately and not have to spend $800 each time.

Works Great, but Be Careful!
By Chris on August 10, 2010This product has a ruthless odor, stronger than most aerosols such as CB-80 or P.I. and if used indoors can smell bad and choke everyone out of the room. Be sure to use your PPE and/or open windows while using it. Also, be sure not to spray it in your eyes...I accidentally sprayed it right into my eye and it burned and had a cold, tingling feeling for hours.

Same Stuff the Pros Use
By Brad on October 2, 2010
Verified Purchase
I had my upstairs treated for BedBugs last month by a professional pest control company. I checked my receipt and searched the chemicals they used. That is when I found DoMyOwnPestControl.com. On my receipt from the Pest Control Company it lists Phantom Aerosol Spray was used along with other chemicals. So I bought a can and also the BedBug Kit#2 which also contains products the pros use. I also bought mattress and box spring encasements. They are priceless, since I can sleep knowing that those evil bugs are no longer camping out waiting to suck my blood. DoMyOwnPestControl.com was easy to order from and my order was received in three days. I am very pleased with how they do business. I would recommend DoMyOwnPestControl.com to anyone suffering from BedBug infestation.

Kiss your indoor ant problems goodbye
By Philip on June 5, 2009For weeks I've been dealing with annoying little black ants (argentine or sugar ants I think) coming in and around the back door of my house and eating all of the Cheerios our little baby keeps dropping on the kitchen floor. We tried everything to stop the ants, but whatever we used or sprayed on them would just keep them away for a day or so, and then they would just pop out of the wall somewhere else. Then I tried this Phantom spray. Wow, does this stuff work! I sprayed just a line of Phantom along the bottom of the back door and where the ants were coming in, and within minutes there were dead ants everywhere I sprayed. Not only that, but the ants never came back. I highly recommend!

Oh my gosh
By Phil on April 4, 2010I can't believe they now have an aerosol spray for Phantom. This is basically an indoor version of Termidor, which is the best stuff for ants. I used to work for a pest control company and ants were the most difficult thing to kill because most people would use something from Walmart, which ants can detect and they would find new places to go. However, Phantom they can't detect, and it kills them slowly, but completely. The way that it works is that it gets on the ants' bodies and when they rub up against each other the insecticide then rubs off on those ants. It will take about 5 days to see them completely gone, but this stuff can't be beat for totally removing your complete ant problem. I am just shocked that it is now in a spray as we had to mix it from a huge bottle.

Always tough to watch em walk away
By Nate on May 19, 2013Bought Phantom to treat for small ants. Tried c&c treatment with Cy-kick like I did last year but they just kept changing where they'd sneak in. Phantom worked great. It's just tough to watch em walkin around and not kill em so they can go back to the colony with the Phantom on their bodies. Even tougher when the colony goes into panic mode and you see an increase before the die-off.

Works for me!

The last two years I've had an invasion of carpenter ants. Both times I used phantom I would find a huge wingless queen traveling by herself 5 days later around the area I sprayed. A good sign that the colony stopped feeding her! Use phantom in cracks and crevices and dominion or termidor around the perimeter of your yard and foundation and it shuts down any carpenter ant colony in the area!

Absolutely the BEST product for ant elimination!!!!

Purchased this product to combat ant invasion in our newly purchased home. We used this spray as indicated in the kitchen and the bathroom. Worked like a charm! When I decided to treat the entire house, I purchased the Phantom product that you mix with water. Both products work great, but I would say if you have a large area the mix would be better as it is more cost effective (although the drawback is accuracy, at least on my sprayer, but it didn't matter at this point because my new floors aren't in and the painting isn't done). For smaller areas, this spray is terrific as it is more convenient.

Phantom Spray is an expensive solution to roach problem
By M on April 15, 2013

I guess I was expecting faster results and more product for the money. I have used an entire can of spray, but my 2000 sf home was not completely sprayed. I think the roach infestation is partly under control, but @ nearly $30 per can this was an expensive remedy. I will probably order another can to complete the job.

The best1
By Jadesky on April 10, 2013This spray is wonderful and finally terminated my bedbug problem. I started treatment with Bedlam and Bedlam plus to kill the eggs in my bed frame every 10 days. But for the final treatment, I used a steamer to steam my bedframe and after allowing it to dry, I finished with this. Day one I had one bite, day 3 one bite, after wards for the next two weeks to now, no bites. This stuff is a miracle! It's not easy getting rid of those things, but if you put your back into it and combine the treatments (Fenvastar for carpet, DE for dusting crevices and perimeter and steam and spray for the infested areas), it will knock them out! Thanks for carrying this!

I have found with some experimentation spraying between the place where your carpet meets the wall and around entrances and using sterifab and drione dust seems to work real well. This is a really great perimeter spray and well worth the money use at least 2 times a month. its really put a dent in my bed bug problem. thumbs up.

Bought two cans to fight bed bugs and roaches. My roommate brought a mattress infested with bed bugs into our new house, and we sprayed his room and all the furniture and many parts of the house with a different bug spray. This was 3 months ago. I have never had a problem with bed bugs until about 4 weeks ago. I got four bites on my stomach and back. I immediately researched what spray would be the best and decided to get Phantom. I sprayed my mattress all over (against the directions, but it doesn't stain so I figured whatever) and along the seams, and sprayed the same way on the box spring, and all over my room along the perimeter and all over the door seams. Been almost two weeks, no bed bug bites!!!! Only used a 1/4 of one can, so i'm prepared just in case, though I doubt they will be back. I also sprayed down stairs in the kitchen and the little roaches we had been seeing stopped appearing. PHANTOM IS HIGH QUALITY PEST CONTROL, IT KILLS ALL THE BUGS YOU DON"T WANT IN YOUR HOUSE AND IS HIGHLY EFFECTIVE AGAINST BED BUGS!!!!!

Christine from Sd asked:
QCan you spray Phantom on your bed, babys furniture? is it safe? Is this product known to cause cancer?
A man came in today and sprayed for bedbugs with phantom. He sprayed the baseboards and the permiter. my living room furniture, my babys bed, the dog bed and my mattress and boxspring? is it still safe to sleep on? and what should i do if not? Is this stuff toxic? He had my one year old, my dog and myself stay in the house while he was spraying.
AWe cannot comment on any work done by a pest control company for liability reasons. We can tell you that the areas you mentioned that were sprayed with the Phantom are listed as areas that can safely be treated on the Phantom Aerosol product label. You do need to let the treated areas dry before you use them and you do need to cover the mattress with a sheet before you use it again. Phantom is safely used in homes everyday to help eliminate bedbug infestations.
November 30, 2009 Jason asked:
QHas there been any report of bed bugs becoming resistant to Phantom?
APhantom Aerosol Spray is currently one of the most promising products for bed bug control available right now. It has shown very good results against bed bug colonies that are resistant to other products and to date has not shown any resistance to the Phantom itself.
July 17, 2011 Yuen asked:
Qwhat is the difference between bed bug treatment kit with phantom spray and bedlam spray?
I bought the bed bug treatment with the phantom spray but I found that your q and A seems to recommend the bedlam spray. What are the factors I should pay attention to when using the phantom spray. What are the advantages of using one spray over the other.
AThere are many factors that we considering when answering a customer submitted question. Phantom is one of the top products on the market for bedbug infestations but for some customers it is too costly. Phantom is a non-repellent insecticide which means that bedbugs would not be able to detect that it is there and they will readily walk through treated areas. In the Q&A that you are referencing the other customer could have been using other synthetic pyrethroids in the same are which would have interfered with the non-repellent qualities of Phantom or there could have been a budget concern. Also the customer who submitted the Q&A you are referring to may have lived in a state where Phantom is restricted.
August 1, 2009 Deepa asked:
QCan I use Phantom Insecticide Spray in combination with Diatomaceous Earth?
I want to get the Phantom Spray for the bedbug problem in my apartment. It is recommended that we use the Phantom spray only in cracks and crevices. Can I use it in combination with MotherEarth Dust? I like the Phantom spray for cracks and crevices and DE for the carpets.
AYou can use Phantom Aerosol spray in the same area as other products like MotherEarth D. Phantom Aerosol Spray is ideal for cracks and crevices and has been proven to be very effective against bed bugs. Good Luck!
November 18, 2009 Brenda asked:
QCan I spray Phantom and then later on spray Bedlam over the same area?
Can I spray Onslaught and Phantom over the same area at different intervals?
There is a small spot area underneath my computer table where the bugs are especially active and probably live between the floor tiles. I would like to spray the Phantom for long-term control and the Onslaught or Bedlam for more immediate control.
AYou should apply one or the other, but not two in the same place. All of the products you had mentioned are very good products and it really is overkill to apply two in the same place. Bedlam and Onslaught may work a little quicker than Phantom and because of this it would not benefit you to spray Phantom over another product. The Bedlam and Onslaught will kill the bugs just the same, and adding Phantom would not make them work quicker or more effectively. All of this being said it would not hurt anything to apply Phantom over the same area, but it would not be very cost effective.

Bob from Everett, Wa asked:
QHow do I kill and control "sugar ants"?
Our vacation home is located near Chelan Washington on the Columbia River. Every spring we get hit with waves of what locals refer to as sugar ants. Very very small ants that get into anything that looks like a food source. Even had them get through screw top lids on 1 gallon plastic mayo jars used to store dog food. Currently I use boric acid powder sprinkled on their trail but I'm concerned about exposure to family dogs. Anything safer and better??
A Phantom would be a good choice for ant control. Phantom should be applied around baseboards, door frames, window frames and places where utilities (cables, pipes and wires) enter through the wall as these are the most likely places for the ants to enter/exit. You can also treat all around the foundation of your home and the exterior window frames, door frames and places where utilities enter to stop the ants from gaining access in the first place. Phantom is a non-repellent insecticide that has a delayed reaction which allows ants time to get back to the colony and spread the product. In essence, the ants will not be able to tell that the product is in place and they will pick it up on the fine hairs all over their body and inadvertently carry it back to the colony where over a course of a few days it will knock out the entire colony. Phantom works really well because you don't have to worry about whether the ants will all take the bait, they just need to walk over the treated areas. Phantom comes in two formulations, concentrated liquid and aerosol for your convenience. Be sure to keep your pets out of the area while you are treating and they can safely return to the treated areas as soon as they are dry, usually 1-2 hours. http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/phantom-aerosol-spray-p-1212.html

Carol from Florida asked:
QBest ant bait to use in an open crawl space?
My house is on piers with an open crawl space. I am having problem with small protein eating ants coming in from where the wall meets the wood floors. I have used your Advance granular, which they do like, but the granules are usually too large to fit through the opening in the floors/wall cracks (I see where they have carried the granules back to the crack but left them). I have cats and there are outdoor animals (raccoons, possums, etc.) that travel under my house, so I want the least toxic method to get rid of these ants. What do you suggest to use indoors as well as outdoors? I have been told that applying petroleum jelly around all the piers and pipes that connect to the ground will keep them out, but I certainly don't want to take on that job!
APhantom Aerosol would be a good choice for you. Phantom should be applied around baseboards, door frames, window frames and places where utilities (cables, pipes and wires) enter through the wall as these are the most likely places for the ants to enter/exit. Jasmin from Newark, Nj asked:
QCan I use phantom in the drawers to my dressers? There are silverfish eating my clothes.
AYou can use Phantom in the cracks and crevices in the dresser drawers if you remove all of the clothes from the dresser prior to the application and you allow the application to dry before putting the clothes back.

Jasmin from Newark, Nj asked:
QCan I use Phantom Aerosol Spray around light fixtures on the ceiling?
I believe there are silverfish and spiders coming out of the light fixtures since I always see them on the ceilings.
AYou can use Phantom around the light fixture as long as you take care not to spray it directly onto exposed wiring or electrical components as it is a liquid.

Cindi from Cocoa, Fl asked:
QIs it okay for me to use Phantom in places other than cracks and crevices?
I know it says on the label to use in voids, cracks, crevices and spot treatment, but the places the ants are coming from are beneath my baseboards. Is it okay for me to spray along the baseboards around the house, including the living room and kitchen?
And when it says use in a well ventilated area, do I need windows open or can I just blast my air-conditioner and turn on the fans after application?
( By the way, I find your site extraordinarily informative, I really love it! )
AYou can spray the bottom of the baseboards with Phantom but do try to aim for the cracks at the bottom of the baseboards where the ants are emerging. Most homes are pretty well ventilated but if yours is not then you should indeed open a window for a few minutes while you are applying the product. We appreciate the compliment on our website!

Karen from Owensboro, Ky. asked:
QMy apartment is infested with ants and I also have a problem with a insect that looks like a flying ant. Is th
AThe flying ants are trying to fly away to make a new nest but should die off pretty quickly but they are a good indicator that there is a nest located somewhere nearby. Phantom Aerosol would be a good choice for ant control indoors. Phantom is a non-repellent insecticide that has a delayed reaction which allows ants time to get back to the colony and spread the product. QI have ants in every room of my house! I don't see a trail, how do I get rid of them?
The ants are in every room, bathroom, hallway, ceilings, floors. They are very small, and I never see them in large groups, just one here, one there. I cant find a trail. Ive been using Terro, but, only about 20-30 will eat off of it. I think I see some of them go into the metal ring around my kitchen sink. How do I get rid of them if there isnt enough eating the poison to take homme to momma? How do I kill them?

Kristin from Ames, Iowa asked:
QCan I spray Phantom in bins with my stuff?
I am moving and I am packing all my items that cannot be put in the dryer in plastic storage containers. The PCO that my parents use gave us a can of Phantom, and I was going to spray my things with this and then seal the containers with duct tape. Also, can Nuvan/Hot Shot Pest Strips be used after the Phantom is sprayed? This is for bed bugs, by the way. I do not want them to come with me.
APhantom should only be sprayed on the areas that are listed on the product label. Phantom should only be used in cracks and crevices around baseboards, door frames, window frames, around the edges of mattresses and boxsprings, etc. Phantom is not labeled to be sprayed all over personal items or as a space spray for your bins. Stick with the Nuvan strips for the sealed bins. Be sure to loosely pack items in the bin so that the vapor can circulate sufficiently.
November 4, 2011 Hanna asked:
QCan I continue to steam where I've applied Phantom to get rid of bed bugs?
AYou cannot steam where you applied Phantom because the heat will cause the residual to deteriorate. The residual from Phantom lasts approximately one month.

Marc from Charlottesville, Va asked:
QI need an insecticide european hornets will take back to the nest and kill the queen
I have lots of european hornets at night at my windows. I was hoping at I could put a light out with a disk under it that the hornets would get on themselves and then take back to the nest. Is there such a thing? I tried Phantom but it seemed to kill too quickly as there were 20 dead hornets on the deck in the morning.
AThere are no products on the market for European hornets like you have described. Phantom would be a pretty good choice but if you were not satisfied with the results from that product you could try Termidor SC. Termidor has a little bit more of a delayed reaction time and it has one of the best transfer effects on the market.
