  • Asked by Andrew from Huntsville, Alabama
    07/06/2018
    Q
Can Quinclorac 1.5L be mixed with Dismiss for a blanket application?
    A

Since the Prime Source Quinclorac 1.5L Select Herbicide does not specifically state that its safe to be tank mixed with Dismiss or any sulfentrazone product we would suggest doing a tank mix test first to make sure there is no clumping, discoloring or odd odors coming from the tank mix. If all is stable, we recommend testing a small area of the lawn first and observing it for several days before applying it to the whole lawn to make sure there will not be any chemical compatibiity issues that could cause burn or harm to your lawn. If nothing is observed you can go back and treat the entire lawn. Keep in mind that the Prime Source Quinclorac needs a surfactant to be used with it for best results and the Dismiss says to not use a surfactant so applications may still need to be done separately.

  • Asked by Wade from Baton Rouge, La
    06/16/2018
    Q
Can Prime Source Quinclorac 1.5L Select Herbicide be used on centipede grass to eliminate torpedo grass?
    A

We would not recommend the Quinclorac 1.5L as it specifically states on the product label: DO NOT apply to Bahiagrass, carpetgrass, St. Augustinegrass, centipedegrass, dichondra, or lawns or turf where desirable clovers are present. Most of the herbicides will only suppress the torpedograss for a short time. It is recommended to spot treat the torpedo grass with a non-selective herbicide such as Round Up Quick Pro and then reseed or sod in the treated areas.
